jake123
Trackpad option got moved outside mouse and keyboard in 10.5.6. Follow the directions here. You just have to delete the Vendor ID. As for the physical buttons not working, that's odd. Have you tried them inside an ubuntu live cd to determine if it is hardware or software? Thats a good idea, i'll try them both
itdoesnotwork
Today I installed a new version of VodoooPower and Along with it VodooBattery. Unfortunately I now have two Battery Icons. Because I like VodooBattery better, I'd like to remove the previous fix. I think AppleACPIPowerSource.kext ist the responsible one. So my question: could someone (who is using VodooBattery and has only 1 Icon and is running 10.5.6) please Post his/her AppleACPIPowerSource.kext or AppleACPIPlatform.kext? This would be great, I'd really appreciate! Thanks
wingrunr21
Your video chipset is most likely a GMA950. The 945 is your chipset. Try searching for the GMA950 instead. itdoesnotwork: Are you running ACPIBattery.kext (Superhai's last battery kext)? If so, remove that kext, clear the cache, and reboot and you should be back down to one battery display.

danofun
Marvell Ethernet in M1530 is working "out-of-box" with the new 10.5.7 AppleYukon2.kext.Thanks to adamsalac for the discovery: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=155935 Great find Chrysaor! I can confirm the kext found in post #1 gives me a fully working ethernet card on my m1530 running a vanilla 10.5.6. Simply place/replace AppleYukon2.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/ then repair permissions and restart. Thank you! itdoesnotwork
Ethernet works for me too! That's great, thanks! wingrunr21: Sorry, somehow I couldn't answer yesterday, insanelymac didn't work for me. After a reboot the second Battery-Icon is gone. Don't now exactly wether it's just because I removed the battery and run via AC only. If it reappears, I'll try to figure out what I've done to get the frst icon and post the solution. Anyways thanks for support! Btw: When I updated to the new VodooPower (1.2.3), I found my computer running slightly cooler than with 1.2.1.

golden3159
Sorry for the idiot question but im trying to install macgirls kext for my particular nvidia card. I currently have EFI strings installed....how do I remove them? I can only seem to find instructions for adding them, and I don't quite know enough to remove them on my own. itdoesnotwork
Don't think it's necessary to remove them, i think injectors override them. Anyways, I think it might work with osx68 tools. As my hack is running pretty well now, I'm thinking of the performence, wich is not that good. Especially graphics performence... I get like 130 Points running the Xbench QE test and also notice some lags using exposé, spaces and dashboard. I'm using nvinject, i think 0.2.0. Any ideas? I'll post xbench score sometimes later this week. Edit: System is a XPS 1530, t7500, 8600m GT DDR3 256MB, 10.5.6 Vanilla Kernel

fireonice
so as a matter of fact this thread has way to many pages to look through! so i have a Dell Vostro 1310, wanna install the iPC OSx86 10.5.6 v1.1 soon. i looked through all the different options what i can choose for the install and not quite sure which options are the best for my vostro 1310. my hardware specs are: c2d 8100 4gb ram Dell 1395 wifi no bluetooth 8400m gs (128mb) realtek alc 268 built in webcam Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) does someone have an idea what options are the best for me? would be great!!! itdoesnotwork
@amibumping: Soundcard is a Sigmatel STAC 9228. Its in the list, watch out for it. Maybe you'll have to remove AppleAzalia.kext to get it working. For battery meter, I'd take the VodooBattery.kext from superhai (www.superhai.com). As for WLAN, I think there is currently no working solution for Intel 4965 AGN. I'm surprised to see a driver in this list, I'll check on that later that week as I have the same card. I only new of this project: http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ , but the drivers were not stable and caused kernel panic. I'd not recommend installing them if you're not a developer. I'd also choose Intel ICHx Sata Drivers, an SMBios or SMBIos resolver and OSX86 Tools in addition. With OSX86 Tools you can easily install kexts (such as VodooBattery.kext). I'd also use Superhai's latest version of VodooPower for speedstep, and genericcpumcontrol for monitoring, but you'd have to remove old speedstep-related kext first. If Lan doesn't work, check out the kexts in this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92070 @ fireonice: Use the same options as amibumping with different options for video card (128mb), sound, lan and wlan. Dell 1395 should be a Broadcom 4310 or 4315 chip and should either work ootb or with latest broadcom drivers. Please google and search yourself. As previousely mentioned, I'd recommend using Superhai's kexts instead of other powermanagement and battery. MaXim
that score does seem a little low, itdoesnotwork. I get the same scores with my M1330 + 8400M GS. Maybe you should try disabling QGL as for me QGL actually decreased my graphics scores in Xbench and made my graphics (especially the dock) noticeably more sluggish. Now for my own problem; (yea i'm a lurker until recently when I tried Leopard on my M1330). Got iPC OSx86 10.5.6 running with most stuff working on my M1330. However Shutdown and restart do not work although from what I read there is no solution for this problem. I am more bothered about sleep not working - I cannot get S4 or S3 sleep to work. My machine will simply wake up instantly and reboot. Fiddling with pmset did not seem to help but at least I could turn off safe sleep so I don't get into a reboot loop without using the -nowake kernel option. I have also tried installing slice's USB 2.0 kexts and sleep fix but that did not seem to help either. Searching the forums it appears sleep does work for a few M1330 owners. I'm quite excited with using leopard on my M1330 since I was never quite satisfied with either Windows or Linux (although Linux did work quite well). EDIT: I got rid of slices kexts and tried VoodooUSBEHCI and now the machine sleeps successfully. However upon wakeup the system reboots.
itdoesnotwork
Ok, I solved my problem with the second battery-icon with plugged-in battery after installing VodooBattery.kext I really could not remember, but I had installed AppleACIPBatteryManager.kext. Maybe some kind of installer or Leo DVD installs it. So if you want to get rid of the second icon, watch out for this kext, delete it and repair permissions. Do a reboot and that's it. Concerning my Graphics Performence I got slight increasement by disabling Quartzgl. However, there are still lags using spaces, exposé, dock, ... bryce00741
Has anyone had problems with slow usb transfers on the m1330? My transfers to USB flash drives and external hard drives is extremely slow, less than 1MB/sec. I've searched online and found this thread, but it didn't say it had a fix for 10.5.4: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...9&start=400 I did install a NTFS for mac program so that I could transfer to my NTFS drives. The slow transfer is for all devices, FAT32 and NTFS. Anyone have a similar problem?

You may want to try Slice's USB 2.0 kexts and apparently they also fix sleep although they didn't for me. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=117029
FrankyGee
Yesterday I recieved a Dell Truemobile 1490, which I ordered on ebay. After a reinstall it worked instantly. But... after a couple of hours I noticed it somehow dit not recognize the card anymore. After a power-cycle it was back on. However, when I turned on my laptop this morning it says: "No airport card installed". And I cannot seem to get it up and running again. Any ideas?
