You can safely update to 10.5.4 using the delta updater. Download the standalone. After install reboot and flag with "update -v" And you should be good. It will restart twice. Wait on more info for 10.5.

I have now kalyway 10.5.3 updated from 10.5.2 and 10.5.1 also from kalyway disc. I installed using vanilla kernel, ACPI_fix, NVINJECT and mbr. Do you have similar installation options? Sound, graphics card QE/CI (xfx 7200GS) works fine with the update? Thank you.

You could've actually formatted your install GUID, it boots faster. And yes, just run it, after reboot hit "update -v"

stuck
K, I just tried the auto update to 10.5.5 I figured I had a virgin system xept for my video, sound, wifi fixes... got me into the endless reboot. So I'm starting over
knyte2
So I'm guessing that it's a "hold off and see" recommendation. Any ideas or anyone notice if there's a 10.5.5 Kaliway update coming?
stuck
BTW, on my second install using the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD, I enabled the wake on keyboard option under the S3 option, and now hitting the keyboard wakes it up from sleep.
JaE-V
I'm trying to figure out what iso to use for the boot-132 method on this board. Generic isnt working and the dfe isnt either. I could build one on my own but i dont know what kexts its most dependent on. I'm thinking this method should allow us to update our bios as well for new processor headroom I'm trying to figure out what iso to use for the boot-132 method on this board. knyte2
That's quite the thread, think it will take a couple readings to come up with what works. Was it relatively straightforward?

mainecrab
I updated to 10.5.5 with iatkos 10.5.4 and this setup. But going to do dual boot and fresh install. Check the updates thread on how to do it. Basically run a script and it deletes a file while the update is running so you dont kernel panic. after which you reboot and reinstall your kext. You are backing up those kext to get your stuff working right? I fell in the reboot loop but was able to fix it. Mine says 10.5.5 but not sure the whole update went through. Will post more after my dual win/osx booting install. Maybe do a write up on what you need exactly to get it working so that you have video sound, lan all working. I've tried that while;sleep script and removed the cpupowermanagement kext and the dsmos.kext replacement with no success. mainecrab
Well I haven't done that yet because I messed mine up by just doing a plain update without reading what I should do before hand so I was fixing my install. I had to boot from DVD open terminal and move the AppleIntelCPU and the kext that you mentioned to a bak file. I was then able to get into the install with -f -v. I reloaded my driver kext and that was it for now. I am going to be doing a new install since I want a dual boot config so then I will be doing the update using the script. I dont know if its any different if you are not using iatkos since it might have different kext as I did not use the same installation dvd as this thread was posted with. I did not have to replace any kext just mv or delete those two through the terminal for it to boot properly.
JaE-V
Just for you guys that arent aware already, after a little further research i've found out how to make the boot-132 method work on this board. This is so you can update using the software updater and no longer have to patch your install or use modified dvds. What you'll need/ what i used: Retail 10.5.4 image, Retail 10.5 image should work as well. Generic boot-132 iso, and thats all. Boot off the 132 disk then pop in your retail image when needed and go from there. I just updated all the way to 10.5.5 perfectly. It'll take a min or two for the retail disk to load but it does and it works perfectly fine. Most questions are already answered in the other boot-132 thread so check it out there. After i'm done loading drivers i'll post a screenshot. I still plan on buying a new board lol

I like to get FCE installed on this system. An easier method is the v4.2 guide found here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=86167 I'd say do this one its much faster and easier. You just need to have an retail dmg or iso on your desktop and a spare hdd.

gtemkin
I thought the ECS945GCT-M/1333 only supported a total of 2GB RAM but JAe-V has 4GB. The ECS website now says 4GB (in red letters like it was changed). So does this work for the all the 3.0 version boards? Does 4GB require the 2-18-08 BIOS or will it work with the 11-7-07 BIOS? Thanks, Gregg
