jaredh
When I try to boot from DVD, both Uphuck 10.4.9 and some Leopard DVD called "Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.1 for AMD SSE2/SSE3 (32bits)", it gets to the first screen where I can enter startup options like -v or -x, but as it tries to move on and load the kernel, it immediately jumps back to the first screen where it takes the startup options. No matter what I try, it keeps going back to that first screen. Here's my specs: HP Pavilion dv2310us AMD Turion 64 x2 Processor (SSE3) Any ideas, tips, and/or suggestions? Is there another popular Leopard distribution I should try?
tdixon
I've had the same problem. Can anybody shed some light as to why it might continuously reboot before loading the kernel? Using ToH.
jaredh
I tried it with the JaS 10.4.8 install DVD, and the same thing happened, but this time it gave me the error "System config file `/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist`not found" before going back to the first screen where it does the little countdown thing and tells me to press F8 if I want to specify startup options... It looks like a lot of people have got that error after installing, but I can't even boot into the DVD installer!
