I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I have read every guides on here but no luck. I cannot get Leopard install no matter what. I'm using Kalyway Leopard 10.5.iso. I burn it to a DVD at the lowest speed using Nero, MagicISO, Alchocol, but I cannot get to the install screen. Keep getting this error "System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found' Pressing F8 will refresh itself to the screen error. Input command -v, ?, etc, doesn't work either. I read somewhere people say currupted DVD burn, but I try burnong at the lowest speed with over 10 DVDs already so I don't think it's that. I have also try a seperate USB DVD-Rom to see if it boot, but still stuck with that message. Anyone figure out why I keep getting this message yet? I check my Computer spec and it should be able to install Leopard just fine.

Here is my PC Spec:

Abit IP35 Pro

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

NVidia 8800GTS

2GB 800Mhz DDR-Ram

Sony Optiarc DVD-ROM

320GB Western Digital Hard Drive

One last thing I want to ask, do I need to install Tiger before installing Leopard???

Thank You!!

that is caused usualy by jmicron controller as well... or unsupported controllers... best bet u need to use a USB dvd rom (buy one external enclosure) and get ur dvd inside and boot from usb dvd :) it works fine...

also i would suggest trying installing tiger first as well, as leo is not stable enough yet for many h/w so better to have tiger on site...

Yukimo try it on vmware 1st and see if its really the dvd image u got is corrupted if it worked on vmware then u myb have a jmicron controller but as far as i heard kalway release supports jmicron just give it a shot on vmware :) who knows myb the iso u downloaded is bad ;) it happened to me too i burned 2 dvd that did not work then i downloaded the zip *fixed* version of kalway not the iso

than search forums if anyone had your same mobo type?? if they had see how they got it installed?

one possible problem would be taht your dvd iso is corrupt usually the case if above suggestion doesnt work mate...

i had this kind of problems b4... but ur problem sounds more like controller issue rather than corrupt dvd?

but as u say ur specs should be fine? than dvd is the only answer... just grab another one from torrents... instead of kalyways, try toh for example... or try tiger as well,. if tiger can boot? than should ur dvd, than u can see if it s controller or corrupt dvd...

After 10 DVDs burn, the file does seam a bit suspicious. Thanks! I give Vmware a shot, may be my only hope.

vmware is not known to work for leo yet though there are couple of pep saying they can....

just try tiger install if it can boot that means it s sure dvd corrupt... so no hassle for hours...

Sorry forgot to ask, but beside Kalyway but other Leopard torrent do you think I should try? I'm downloading iATKOS right now. Is this a good one? You suggest toh one, what is that? I really want Leopard to work, but if Tiger work too then I'm happy with it as well. For Tiger, will JaS work just fine?

leopard is not very stable with all sort of hardwares.... and iatkos is very spesific, intel only and some chipsets limited...

ToH dvd is the one works fine but it also has issues... doesnt make hdd bootable or other issues but can be fixed easier... and it has more universal kernel in it i think...

toh is based on 10.5.0 unlike Kalyway 10.5.1 and since it is updated it may have some issues as well with some old h/w...

tiger is the best one so far as it supports many hardwares and softwares... bcoz leo also has software limited support... :) stick with tiger for a while until 10.5.3 or 4 updates comes out than there will be many drivers written or fixed for leo and better dvds ....

for tiger i suggest 10.4.10 mac.nub :)

cheers...

I think Mac OS X hate me! I may just have to give up because I run out of option. I try the .iso image on VMWare and they seam to load without that annoying error, so I think the file isn't currupted. Try to use VMWare as an DVD-ROM Emulator but installer freeze at the grey apple logo screen. So far I have try iAkratos, Kalyway, Tiger version of Mac dot nub, and all end up with that damn System config file /com.apple.Boot.plist error.

I have read so many success story on here, but I guess Mac OS X hate me. :)
