~Eureka
Hi to all.... I own an Acer Aspire 5630 & have installed Kalyway's Leopard 10.5.1 (works fine except wifi, CardBus & PCMCIA slot) I have downloaded the file in this topic: ... Replaced the original files & after reboot I got KP.... Take a look at the picture and tell me what to do now ;( Hi muratif, It seems that the file permissiones were not set correctly. Double-check it. In addition, after checking the permissions, you can use "touch /System/Library/Extensions" under terminal to make sure the cache is changed, too. Or Try PCCard.10.5.2.beta3 installation package. Chun-Nan ===== Hi to all! I've a Laptop HP Compaq 8710w with Leopard 10.5.2 installed, after the installation i cant use my PCCARD so i searched on this forum the solution..I've installed IOPCCardFamily_chunnan_Leopard_rev8.zip ( i tryed also the other releases ) but once installed i have a kernel panic, so restarting with -f option i solve the problem and i have my pccard perfect functionally. The problem now is that for start the computer i always have to put the -f option.. Any suggestion? Sorry for my english.. Hi superpiero, You can use "touch /System/Library/Extensions" under terminal to make sure the cache is changed, too. Or Try PCCard.10.5.2.beta3 installation package. Chun-Nan ===== Chunnan, really appreciate your efforts. Thanks very much.I have followed the instructions and got rev8. My dmesg shows this: And, here is the info I gathered about my device: Hopefully, you can help me out here. Thanks. Hi vja, You can give PCCard.10.5.2.beta3 installation package a try to see if the error goes away. Chun-Nan ===== update. I have the Card on:| | | +-o PXS1@0 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain 6> working and Stable, But Still no Wifi ;( Hi HBP112358, You can give PCCard.10.5.2.beta3 installation package a try to see if the error goes away. Chun-Nan ===== Hi Chun-nan and all, now i'm using leo4all v2 in my BenQ Joybook S41-448. I have problem with my wireless lan(Atheros AR 5006EG), i tried anything to make it's work, but until now it's still not working. I used Chun-nan version, the LAN card working perfectly, but the WiFi still not working. In the boot i see this error message What it's mean? Any one can help me, please? Sorry for my english Thx B4 Hi Hendry Lai, You can give PCCard.10.5.2.beta3 installation package a try to see if the error goes away. Chun-Nan ===== Could it be that Chun-Nan drivers don't work on a PPC computer? I would be very grateful if someone could help me since I really need my wireless card to work. Thank you, Guido Hi coccoinomane, I don't think it will work on the PPC computer. I use the source code for Intel computers on Apple's website. Chun-Nan ===== Hello, Chun-Nan, Thank you for your PCMCIA/Cardbus reader! I was able to install it using the beta2 on post#502 and was able to improve my boot time from 5-6 mins down to 1 min. The reason was that previous to the PCMCIA driver you provided, the unknown device stalled the boot process. My laptop comes with a CardBus RICOH RL5C476, which appears to be supported under your list on the top page. However, when I connect a memory card (SD) I get the following errors in /var/log/system.log, and the card is not detected: ..... Do you know why this is? Thanks, blivrail Hi blivrail, As far as I know, it means that it found the device but couldn't find the driver for it. What kind of card reader do you have? Is it PCMCIA/CardBus interface? You probably need to find the right drivers for the wireless work. Chun-Nan Hi Chun-Nan and thx for replying! I've already tried PCCard.10.5.2beta3 before and ended with kernlpanic, but this time I managed getting it to work using the -f flag! here I get except, intead of os-freeze when unplugging the delock card -> KP, the same behaviour! I wanted to get the setup I had before, namely vanilla PCIfamily.kext and your PCCardfamily.kext dated with jannuary 2008(from rev.8), but it didn't work!! I backuped properly and replaced properly with permission, deleting .mkext and touch ...! I'll have to do what I did last time when I installed PCCard.beta3! -> fresh install I really don't mind! Do you know a reason for this? is it because of using the installer? btw. replacing both files from rev.8 doesn't work for me! My d-link card is a usual gigabit ethernet conroller and not wireless, just in case it would make any difference, and finding a driver makes totally sense but I don't care about this! WHAT really is important to me is the soundcard! yes it works plugging it to the native usb port. How could I get it loading through the pcmcia-card? why isn't it automatically loading like e.g the usb HD? thank you again and my appreciations! proosje
Chun Nan, I had my PCMCIA with IBM microdrive working on kalyway 10.5.2 with your Rev 8 installer. After updating to 10.5.3 witth the Kalyway combo updater my system is working, but the pcmcia doesn't anymore. After reapplying the rev8 version and repairing permissions I get a kp at bootup. sorry no pics. Could only boot via dvd and restore from there the original kexts, so PCMCIA not working anymore. Is there a version already for Leopard 10.5.3 ??

Hi jul_k, If you can boot with "-f" and don't get KP, it usually means the file permissions are not set correctly or the kextcache is not updated. Double check it. If rev8 doesn't work with you, you can try beta3. You may try another usb drivers to see if your usb sound card will work via USB PCCard. If you still get KP, can you post kernal panic picture on the forum if possible? Thanks. Chun-Nan Chun Nan, I had my PCMCIA with IBM microdrive working on kalyway 10.5.2 with your Rev 8 installer. Thomas Morus
Hi Chun-Nan, Thanks for your work! I´ve installed the 2 kexts via install package. My firewire, linked to the PCI bridge (a 02micro device) is working now, but the same did not happen to my card reader. With "ioreg -bls" I get the following result with some devices: +-o CRDH@4,2 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, bu$ | | | | { | | | | "IOPCIResourced" = Yes | | | +-o CRDH@4,2 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, bu$ | | | | { | | | | "IOPCIResourced" = Yes | | | | "IOInterruptControllers" = ("io-apic-0") | | | | "IOName" = "pci1217,7120" | | | | "subsystem-id" = <7b900000> | | | | "IODeviceMemory" = (({"address"=18446744073443223552,"lengt$ | | | | "class-code" = <00050800> | | | | "IOPowerManagement" = {"CurrentPowerState"=2} | | | | "revision-id" = <01000000> | | | | "IOInterruptSpecifiers" = (<1200000007000000>) | | | | "assigned-addresses" = <1022068200000000002820f000000000000$ | | | | "IOChildIndex" = 2 | | | | "device-id" = <20710000> | | | | "vendor-id" = <17120000> | | | | "acpi-path" = "IOACPIPlane:/_SB/PCI0@0/PCIB@1e0000/CRDH@400$ | | | | "subsystem-vendor-id" = <84150000> | | | | "name" = "pci1217,7120" | | | | "reg" = <00220600000000000000000000000000000000001022060200$ | | | | "compatible" = <"pci1584,907b","pci1217,7120","pciclass,080$ | | | | } | | | | | | | +-o CRDS@4,3 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, bu$ | | | | { | | | | "IOPCIResourced" = Yes | | | | "IOInterruptControllers" = ("io-apic-0") | | | | "IOName" = "pci1217,7130" | | | | "subsystem-id" = <7b900000> | | | | "IODeviceMemory" = (({"address"=18446744073443217408,"lengt$ | | | | "class-code" = <00800100> | | | | "IOPowerManagement" = {"CurrentPowerState"=2} | | | | "revision-id" = <01000000> | | | | "IOInterruptSpecifiers" = (<1200000007000000>) | | | | "assigned-addresses" = <1023068200000000001020f000000000001$ | | | | "IOChildIndex" = 3 | | | | "device-id" = <30710000> | | | | "vendor-id" = <17120000> | | | | "acpi-path" = "IOACPIPlane:/_SB/PCI0@0/PCIB@1e0000/CRDS@400$ | | | | "subsystem-vendor-id" = <84150000> | | | | "name" = "pci1217,7130" | | | | "reg" = <00230600000000000000000000000000000000001023060200$ | | | | "compatible" = <"pci1584,907b","pci1217,7130","pciclass,018$ | | | | } "dmesg" doesn´t give any hint to me... proosje
Chun Nan, I tried the beta 3 package and this gets rid of the KP but now the microdrive doesn't show on the desktop anymore. It gives its name still in the PCMCIA icon on top right. Greyed out (but that was the same on 10.5.2 with rev8) and an option to power off the card. (also the same on 10.5.2 with rev8) The card doesn't show up in system profiler also with it did on 10.5.2 How can i get the card recognised by the system? It worked fine before. If you need logs or ioregtree logs please direct me how to create them. Then I wil post them. Hope you can help.
