Felipe Viegas Posted January 24, 2008 Share Posted January 24, 2008 I tried to restore original kexts from terminal, but it didn't worked out. And, for my sadness, I was able to safe boot and replace the kexts. But that still gave me the kernel panic. Now safe booting again and trying to repair permissions. Lets see what happens. I will post the message. Thanks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Felipe Viegas Posted January 24, 2008 Share Posted January 24, 2008 Updating, neither -s or -v will boot the system. I still can safe boot, but replacing the back up kexts or even the ToH DVD kexts will solve the problem. Anymore ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Felipe Viegas Posted January 24, 2008 Share Posted January 24, 2008 actualy, I can't give u this picture, kizwan. But the system says that there is no driver for /ACPI/.......... and keep going with the diagnoses message. Why replacing the new kexts with the old kexts it's not working?? and if I just reinstall the system, without erasing the volume, will I delete my files on users folder? Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

~Eureka Posted January 24, 2008 Author Share Posted January 24, 2008 Hi all, I need people to test the file and report the result, especially for those who had "IOPCCardBridge::checkbridgebusID's invaild sub/card/pci settings of 0x0" error messages before using rev6. Here is the test6 IOPCIFamily. Use this one with IOPCCardFamily on rev6 and boot with "-s" to enter single user mode. Let me know the dmesg result. Don't forget to backup your original file before trying it. Thanks a lot. Chun-Nan IOPCIFamily_test6.zip Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EqUaTe Posted January 26, 2008 Share Posted January 26, 2008 Hy guys, that didn't work for me. I got a kernel panic on reboot. It says that couldn't find driver for pci card or something like that. I have backed up original kexts to desktop and tryied to copy them back to extensions folder.. but it didn't work. Any help?? My system was working fine. I wouldn't like to format. Thanks Take a screenshot of the panic, then boot off your install dvd and restore the kexts you were using previously. Just to check - you DID manually set the correct permissions, right? pumbaster Posted January 27, 2008 Share Posted January 27, 2008 hi all! Somebody has positive experience with O2Micro OZ6912/601/711E0 (Vendor 1217, DevID 6972) ???? Please HELP!!! I've Dell Latitude D620, iATKOS 1.0i, EFI loader and genuine kernal+AppleACPIPlatform,IOACPIFamily... and other needed kexts. When i use Chun-Nan's rev6 prebuilded IOPCIFamily+IOPCCardFamily what i've got is just a kernel panic during IOPCCard initialization. I've tried to build rev6 from sources with debug options enabled, now there is no kernel panic but following message: IOPCCard info: Mac OS X PCMCIA Card Services 3.1.22 IOPCCard info: options: [pci] [cardbus] [pnp] IOPCCard debug: IOPCCardBridge::probe IOPCCard debug: IOPCCardBridge::start IOPCCard debug: IOPCCardBridge::configure IOPCCard debug: adding bridge mem space 0x0-0xfffff IOPCCard debug: cs: CardServices(AdjustResourceInfo, 0x0x12345678, 0x0x2b7a7cb4) IOPCCard debug: adding bridge io space 0x0-0xfff IOPCCard debug: cs: CardServices(AdjustResourceInfo, 0x0x12345678, 0x0x2b7a7cb4) IOPCCardBridge::start failed IOPCCard debug: IOPCCardBridge::stop IOPCCard debug: IOPCCardBridge::free Below is ioreg -l -x output: +-o IOPCI2PCIBridge <class IOPCI2PCIBridge, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain 7> | | | | { | | | | "IOProviderClass" = "IOPCIDevice" | | | | "IOProbeScore" = 0xffffffffffffff9c | | | | "CFBundleIdentifier" = "com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily" | | | | "Bridge Memory Ranges" = (0xfffffffffff00000,0xfffff,0xfffffffffff00000,0xfffff) <---- Weird, is'nt it? | | | | "IOMatchCategory" = "IODefaultMatchCategory" | | | | "Bridge IO Ranges" = (0xf000,0xfff) <--- Weird, is'nt it? | | | | "IONameMatched" = "pci-bridge" | | | | "IOClass" = "IOPCI2PCIBridge" | | | | "IONameMatch" = "pci-bridge" | | | | "IOPowerManagement" = {"ChildrenPowerState"=0x2,"CurrentPowerState"=0x2} | | | | "IOPCIConfigured" = Yes | | | | } | | | | | | | +-o CRD0@1 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain 6> | | | { | | | "IOPCIResourced" = Yes | | | "#address-cells" = <03000000> | | | "IOName" = "pci1217,6972" | | | "subsystem-id" = <00000000> | | | "IOInterruptControllers" = ("io-apic-0") | | | "IOPMPCIConfigSpaceVolatile" = No | | | "class-code" = <00070600> | | | "IOPowerManagement" = {"CurrentPowerState"=0x2} | | | "revision-id" = <40000000> | | | "IOInterruptSpecifiers" = (<1200000007000000>) | | | "IOChildIndex" = 0x1 | | | "device-id" = <72690000> | | | "vendor-id" = <17120000> | | | "acpi-path" = "IOACPIPlane:/_SB/PCI0@0/PCIE@1e0000/CRD0@10000" | | | "ranges" = <00000082000000000000000000000082000000000000000000000000000010000000008100000 0000000$ | | | "subsystem-vendor-id" = <01000000> | | | "name" = "pci1217,6972" | | | "reg" = <00080300000000000000000000000000000000001008030200000000000000000000000000100 00> | | | "compatible" = <706369312c3000706369313231372c3639373200706369636c6173732c30363037303000> | | | "IOPCIHotPlug" = Yes | | | "#size-cells" = <02000000> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
snam11 Posted January 27, 2008 Share Posted January 27, 2008 pubmaster, i don't think your device id is present in iopcifamily, can you confirm that? if so is quite impossible to have it fully working or at least detected. if you want to have a try use rev6, but before that with hex editor open the file iopccardfamily that is stored into the iopccardfamily.kext look for the hex string 1712 (yes, is the vendor id reversed 1217 --- 1712). you will find a long list of o2micro supported devices, 17122962 (o2micro 1217 device id 6229) , 17123A67 (o2micro 1217 device id 673A), 17123668 , etc simply overwrite one device id with yours. regards Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Slice Posted January 27, 2008 Share Posted January 27, 2008 Yes, my device id (17127269) is presented in iopcifamily.. The problem is not in DeviceID. Look my investigations http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...81048&st=35 and above. IOPCIFamily doesn't get good IODeviceMemory property as you see too. ~Eureka Posted January 28, 2008 Author Share Posted January 28, 2008 Hi all, I need people to test the file and report the result. Here is the test8 IOPCIFamily. Use this one with IOPCCardFamily on rev6 and boot with "-s" to enter single user mode. Let me know if the IOPCCard starts sucessfully or not. Don't forget to backup your original file before trying it. Thanks a lot. Chun-Nan IOPCIFamily_test8.zip Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
