jaeger
I'm using WDC 320AAKS S-ATA hardisks, still getting 88 score on X-Bench. All real machintosh score above 100. Do they use special driver (kext)? I check my Extensions on System profiler, it shows i'm only using AppleGenericPCATA.kext Do real mac used the same? or other S-ATA driver? Effendi
I'd love to know that, too. Feels much slower than in Windows.
aliab
Do not test disk with XBench open Actvity Monitor and make your own test (copy some big file) 60 mb/s is a very good read write speed For example a sata Maxtor 300 Gb give 118 with xbench and a WDC 500 Gb give 60 but they read & write at about the same speed
Pokopo
Just upgraded to iATKOS. Everything works great, except my HD are constantly spinning and when I copy a big folder and open activity monitor to see rates I get 30 MB/s.. Any ideas? Also, the whole system hiccups once in a while, every 20 minutes or so.. the rainbow comes on for about a minute and then everythings fine.. Would appreciate any clues as to what is happening. Thanks.
idividebyzero
Is there a real HDD benchmark utility for OS X? Like HD Tune in Windows.
