Stellair
Restart and sleep only. Shutdown doesn't work with vanilla kernel, see my sig. All restart, sleep and shutdown worked for me with netkas 9.2.0 sleep kernel (included in ls8v8). Is there a big difference or a good argument to for a 9.2.2 kernel or is it 'safer' to go with a 9.2.0?
Mysticus C*
no big difference, both designed to work for OSX both of them's source is APPLE, one of them is assembled by apple to get it work on apple's own hardware, other by ToH (team of hackintosh) to work on more variety of hardwares... althought vanilla (original one) works fine on some intel chipsets, it has issues still like shutdown doesnt work vice versa... also vanilla has ppc code in it as well (needs verification) and thats why it is bigger than the toh, which is only for x86 machines... Coda
@coda and others: whoever claims that they never had any issue with usb not mounting, they didnt have it because most likely they used the correct versions... if you dont believe me?, try to replace system.kext version say 9.2.0 and add 9.2.2 kernel, or 9.2.2 system.kext and 9.2.0 kernel (9.2.2 system.kext and 9.2.0 kernel is usualy the case) and after the change, restart... once in osx try to stick a usb storage device and see it with your own eyes... i tested it million times and made the installer, and tested by many others, and it is confirmed the reasoning of the problem, and solved with correcting teh mismatched versions.... I think you misunderstand me, which is fine, because I misunderstood your statement the first time I read it ;-) I don't have a problem with USB most probably because I was always using the vanilla kernel/kext (9.2.2). I don't doubt what you say is true at all. althought vanilla (original one) works fine on some intel chipsets, it has issues still like shutdown doesnt work vice versa... also vanilla has ppc code in it as well (needs verification) and thats why it is bigger than the toh, which is only for x86 machines... I did wonder why the ToH kernel was 1/2 of the size :-) BTW - I have been at this most of the day now, replacing Kexts, reflashing BIOS (now I'm on F8), changing BIOS settings, clearing caches, rebooting, checking sleep, nada. I got it to resume properly from sleep maybe twice out of 10-12 tries. That's on ToH 9.2.0 kernel. I noticed that with the ToH kernel I can't even use the CPU Pallete app to turn off any of my cores... which means no shutdown either... @LS8. I tried the IOAHCI (V 1.0.4) which you put in the V8 pack. Locks my system on boot with a complaint about incompatible AHCI with a superior (parent?) driver or something. Are you using this ACHI kext? and if so, did you use ALL the kexts in this directory?
SicilyOSx86
Will the post-patch.sh from v7 work also after updating to 10.5.3? (I had problems with v8...it didn't boot (after 10.5.2...)
karaakeha1
Will the post-patch.sh from v7 work also after updating to 10.5.3? (I had problems with v8...it didn't boot (after 10.5.2...) yes ,bascially these patches are nothing( For simplification sake ) but modified drivers for AUDIO.Video and removes some Kexts. So you need these drivers regardless of version 10.
LS8
Upgrade to 10.5.3 - the safest way: connect your hackintosh disk to another machine (real mac or hack), apply 10.5.3 combo update, then re-apply post-patch from LSv8.

Cool! I have two leopard installations into two different hard disks (one is just for testing and security purpose), so I'll boot from the other one to install 10.5.3 and apply post-patch again. yes ,bascially these patches are nothing( For simplification sake ) but modified drivers for AUDIO.Video and removes some Kexts. Ah ok I just let it auto sleep (set to 1 hour) so maybe I should try manualy putting it to sleep. Are you using S3 (STR) for sleep or S1? LS8
I have auto-sleep set to 60 minutes, works perfectly (in 10.5.2 - not yet tested in 10.5.3). Guest ѕиоѡ
Thats odd about TM. I actualy expected it not to work on my rig, thats why I posted before but so far no probs. I was using a patched IONetworkingFamily with 10.5.2 I can confirm GFX string works cause I only had to repatch my audio and update the AHCIFamily kext to get things up n running again. I'll check for reboot fix later on.
