yes IS8,I have Z-680's with dd encoder using optical out from the 889a

in pref ,you have to set "Play sound effects and alerts to digital"

and output to"digital out"

the digital out will have no output controls though

I was watching a dvd movie in dd in dvd player

I have revision 2.1 of the GA-P35-DS4 motherboard. I have installed Leopard 10.5.2, guid, efi and almost everything works great. I have one IDE hard disk that Leopard is installed on and 7 NTFS SATA disks. The problem I have is that the same NTFS disks end up with different names almost every time I boot the computer. I also have NTFS 3g installed. And is it possible to rename the disks to something other than Untitled 1, 2 and so on.

Hi every1,

I got the system running for a while now. Now I'm looking for an airport compatible pci-wlan-card to work with Leo 10.5.2. Which one can be recommended? Which is natively supported (that would be nice).

Thanx in advance

Nathan

Does this pack work for the DS3P as well?

EDIT: Some other questions: (I'm really confused)

1) Question above, does this work with the DS3P. The hardware seems to be exactly the same

2) I am running Kalyway 10.5.1 with EFI, Vanilla, on an MBR partition soon to be updated to 10.5.2 with Kalyway Combo Updater + 10.5.2 Vanilla kernel + Leopard graphics update 1.0 + Probably AppleSMBIOS by netkas or mac.nub. What would I do? I already have sound, networking, video fully working.

3) What are the IOAHCIFamily, IOATAFamily, JMicronATA, IONetworkingFamily, AppleACPIPlatform, and AppleAHCIPort kexts for?

bigcid10, can you elaborate on your rocketraid setup a bit? All all the drives internal? Are you booting leopard from the raid? How easy was it to install efi / leopard on the raid set? Was it recognized automatically by the installers? How much faster is it compared to software raid (via Disk Utility).

I've been looking for a compatible raid card for a while. This might be a winner!

Given, that you have installed the patch from ls8, you can use the attached file (a codec dump which i took under linux for the sound of the Gigabyte board) for AppeHDAPatcher 1.1.8. It should work. Restart after that. Then choose in sound system preferences Internal Speakers in Output, and put the speakers into the right socket at the back at your computer. It works for me. (It took me a while to find out, which socket is the right one. Startup iTunes and play a song for trying until you found the right socket)

?

additional SAS Raid Card booting Leopard within Gigabyte P35-DS4

?

what do you think - is it possible?

the main question is : are that motherboard allow booting from additional card in bios ?

like badexe2 allow

I'd like use HighPoint RocketRAID 3520 with 8 drives SAS 36GB 15000RPM in Raid5 as boot drive to macOSX

and use any gigabyte mobo (like GA-X48-DQ6) together with overclocked Q6600 or QX9650

any suggestions ... please

I've been running Kalyway 10.5.1 on my P35-DS4 rev2.1 with one 7300GT Sonic 256mb DDR3. Recently, I got an exact video card and installed it in the second pci-e slot so that I can install more than 4 projectors. I cant seem to make it work as I am having boot problems.

What would you guys recommend? Has anybody successfully installed more than one videocard on any hackintosh?

You could also try the instructions I wrote here, which has a (working) link to the kexts. This should make your sound work properly, including mic in.

If you need any additional help/if things are unclear, give me a shout :)

All the best,

I have a hard drive problem. I have three 750GB hard drives, but only one is being detected at 698GB, one at 128GB, and one not at all. I actually used the Kalyway disc to install my system, so I'm not sure if that's the source of the problem or not. Any insight?

Oh and thanks for all the support on this thread. It's been really helpful. I apologize if this is an issue that was covered earlier. I scanned all the post topics and I didn't see anything that seemed relevant so I thought I'd make a post to cry out for help.

Hello,

first: may many thanks for this thread and support here! :-)

solved lots of problems, but my last problem isn´ t fixed yet:

my Gigabyte P35-DS4 / Kalyway 10.5.2 + all updates crashes with > 3 GByte RAM. With only 3 Gigs it works perfect.

I aleady installed the IOATAFamily.kext from this thread:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=88335&st=0

but it doesn´t make any difference, nor in ACHI or IDE mode.

I have CD-ROM & 160 GByte system disc on IDE, some other HDs on S-ATA.

Crash (black screen of death, not only the app) appears e.g. when rendering a motion project to Ram (Crtl-R)

I tried all combinations (4GByte, 5GByte, 6 GByte Dual & Single Channel, Boot IDE or ACHI), but it´ s alwas the same: more then 3 Gigs -> sooner or later crash, always crash with motion. 3 Gigs: rockstable. I underclocked the RAM and set very slow timings for testing to be shure it´ s not the RAM itself.

Has anybody an Idea how to fix this ?

config:

Gigabyte P35-DS4, install method: Kaly 10.5.1 DVD / option vanilla kernel / GUID

2 MSI NX 7600 cards with NVInject ( version from the Kaly DVD, I guess 1.0 )

update to 10.5.2 with the kaly updater

Leo Graphics update 1
