I hope for a update dvd of the Kalyway 10.5.1, with a GMA X3100 driver, and a fixed AppleSMBIOS, like the one from iATKOS wich shows the proper name of the comp, and not Mac Pro as it does now.

My cpu shows correct speed, but still Unknown.

I use GUID EFI and Vanilla, on a laptop wich does not have a C2D cpu, so no, no need to have a C2D to have that setup working fine. :(

Hi there.

I've tried installing the kalyway osx on my laptop:

Centrino (single core) 1,6ghz

512mb ram

ATI radeon mobility 9600 pro turbo.

What options should be enabled ?

I've read that vanilla only works with dual cores ... will the system boot when I disable vanilla ?

Or is there no point in trying to install leopard with a single core cpu ?

My memory will be expanded in a few days to one or two gigs ... so no worries about that :(

The things I've tried so far always end up in a perfect installation, but when I try to boot it shows me the grey loading screen for about half a second and then it just reboots.

Any ideas ?

Tnx !

for those (like me) trying to install Kalyway 10.5.1 on ur Pentium 4 SSE2 and seem to have reboots, iAtkos has a ppf patch that gives support for SSE2. you might want to try it. post in a new thread if you have success in installing it..

Hey u4ia24,

I applied iATKOS's ppf patch to Kalyway's DVD and got this error: Binblock / Patchvalidation failed. I read somewhere that the ppf was made for iATKO's DVD and could not be applied to nothing else. Where can i find ppf patch for Kalyway's DVD

Hi to all. I have read carefully intro to posts on this forum and want to ask a question.

I am running Kalyway SSE2 SSE3 image with Vanilla & EFI-MBR. My hardware config: Q6600 (G0) SSE3 present, Motherboard ASUS P5K, Sata DVD-rom, Sata HDD (500Gb), IDE HDD (60Gb), Mobile Harddrive 40Gb (working via USB cable). VideoCard: x1950 GT 512Mb ATI. Zalman PowerSupply (500Wt).

Installation steps: Booting with -v, DiskUtility (Partritioning 60GB IDE HDD in 1Partition MBR, then Eraze data on it) --> After 1st restart F8, getting of disc from DVD rom, changing boot order --> Starting OS.

So, my problem: My Leopard gets Kernel Panic after 10min after start. This is Major problem. Please read my solving problem tryings:

My Leo worked when:

IDE HDD 60Gb connected (J Micron Enabled in AHCI mode, Sata Configurations in Bios set to Enchanced). Mobile HDD connected via Usb, My SATA HDD (500Gb) is NOT CONNECTED. In OS all my data is visible.

All my trying shows that the problem is in SATA HDD. When I connecting it to PC, Kernel Panic after 10min always. If its not connectet system works well. Even when i change many different parameters in Bios and all such stuff. Please Help me, I realy dont know what else can I do.

Thanks to all OSx86 team, Your work is Great.

:D Fantastic. This is the first Leopard I have been able to get booting. My Specs:

ASUS SKT-775 P5E-VM DO

500GB SATA HDD for Windows XP

80GB SATA HDD for Leopard

DVD+/-RW SATA

2GB (2 x 1024GB DDR667)

Realtek 8139D based PCI network card (On board network not working on mac)

Sound not yet tested.

:( One other problem - I cant run VLC, DVD Player OR X11. All I can think is that I may have a pre X11 bug fixed version. How can I tell if this is the case?

Anyway, thanks Kaly. :D

Thanks, this is the first time I managed to install os x on my PC.

It seams like almost every thing is working great. but I have some questions:

a) Sleep: The system can go to sleep (fans off etc). When I try to wake it up the fans will start, but the screen will stay back. I think it's not only the screen because the F12 will not open the CD tray after the sleep.

:) If I boot with -v, there are some lines saying "Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style." what does this means? is it a problem?

c) I made a backup of the mac partition using SuperDuper. After messing up my mac I used Disk Utility to restore the partition. but it would not boot. it just got stuck with out getting to the darwin loader.

My system is:

MSI P965 Neo mainboard

Core 2 Duo

GeForce 7600 GS

dual boot xp + os x

---added: vanilla, ACPI, nvinject-gfnvidia-desktop, mbr efi

Thanks,

Bob

Is it OK to do the updates using the "Software Update" button afterwards or will that screw up my installation?

I was able to do a clean install using EFI MBR and Vanilla both on a ECS 945GCT-M/1333 with everything working except for sound after reboot. GMA950 with QE and CI too! Thanks Kaly!

I'm not sure if kaly or -Dune- continue to monitor this thread.. I'm hoping so :)

I was able to install the Kalyway 10.5.1 onto my machine with MBR EFI. I have no blinking cursor, and it boots into this partition wonderfully.

Using Intel motherboard (Intel PRO VE/100 ethernet)

Everything works except for my ethernet (network) connection. During the installation I chose no network drivers, because the only choice was a wireless driver.

I read elsewhere that -Dune- recommended deleting everything from the Network preferences and re-add "1 to 3". Unfortunately, it won't let me delete all of them, I must keep at least one choice. When I attempt to re-add them, my only ethernet choice is "6 to 4". No where can I find the "1 to 3" option. My first dead end..

Secondly, I tried to install the "Intel8255.pkg" from the iAtkos version. This .pkg is for the Intel PRO VE/100, still no luck.

Thirdly, double checked the cable was good, router was good.. no issues there. Still nothing.

-Dune-, Kaly, or anyone else.. anything stand out in particular that I missed?

Thanks so much! :)

I've installed the leopard with no problems during the installation, I formated a partition on one of my hard disks (the others were disconnected) as i use which system to boot by selecting which Hard disk to boot from, so I guess I have no problem with MBRs (unless I'm supposed to format the whole HD !!)

well my problem is one I try to boot the leopard the computer restarts (I think the kernel failed to load)

I checked the 2 kernel related installers, MBR, the 882 sound driver, the networking driver & the nvidia drivers for desktops although I have a 8500 GT, but just thought of trying that driver

I dont know what I would have done wrong but any help would be greatly appreciated

thnx in advance
