hi I got another problem nowI installed Kalyway successfully with internal SATA drive but it appears an external HD. Has anyone any idea to change it back?
read the forum plz. this has been said many times. it is not a bug. you are in AHCI and it brings your System "Hot plug" capabilities. So it is normal that your hd is seen Orange like an external

First of all, I wanna say thanks to Kaly for this great piece of work.

 

I succesfully installed Kalway 10.5.1 on Asus P5K. All ICHx drives recognized, and sound working.

Just Integrated LAN Controller Attansic L1 not recognized

 

As far as I know, there are no patched kext for this controler, (and i doubt that will be in nearest future),

so i have to buy additional PCI network adapter

 

Anyone can confirm that this network card working in Kalway 10.5.1

D-Link DFE-528TX PCI (my local hardware dealer, have only this one :wacko: )

 

 

One more thing... Anyone expirienced crashing System Profiler

 

 

My system specs.

Asus P5K

C2D E6550@2.33 ghz

Nvidia EN8600GTS (not working ... yet)

Instaled with EFI

Perhaps I can describe my symptoms and someone will have an idea of whats going on.

 

Trying to install kals on a Asus P5K-VM with a Q6600 and 2GB RAM. AHCI mode just brings me to a grey screen with the STOP symbol but if I go to IDE mode I can run the installer. Using diskutil I setup the drive for one partition using guid and the coresponding EFI, Then I select Vanilla and NVinject, I use the 883 audio driver as thats whats on my motherboard.

 

I can then boot into leopard without any kernel panics and get to a window manager with a cursor (Arrow) but thats it, the screen stays black after that. the first couple of times I boot like this I can move the cursor around and its a spinning color wheel. by the third or fourth time its just an arrow up on the screen and it doesn't move anymore.

 

I checked all the BIOS settings I can, tried booting with -legacy -r but nothing is getting me past this black screen.

 

Any help?

2 GB Corsair RAM

did you try Natit_geforce ? maybe it works better on your configuration. if it is not working , try to install without video drivers.

OK total newb here reporting that the Kalyway DVD release worked for me!!! never did this before, just adventured into it and on the 3rd try... IT WORKED!!! My Mac Dell E1505 is running pretty good. :wacko: Thanks Kaly! So easy newbs can get it running!!!

 

only one problem, no Audio on my Sigmatel... took the issue already to the AppleHDA topic.

But suggestions are welcome...

 

My card info is:

Hey Jova!

 

I have a Dell E510, which I believe is basically the same rig as yours. I have been running as a hackintosh for a long time now. I have an audio fix that would hopefully help you! I have Kalyway's Leo 10.5.1 up and running great, but I was not able to use the vanilla kernal option (it would just get stuck in a reboot cycle after install. I believe it might be due to the fact that I have a Pentium D processor. I was able to use EFI with MBR option. Did you not choose vanilla as well to get it working? Thanks!

Max CPUID value in cpu configuration of your bios? verify if this one is well disabled

THANKS A TERA TO KALYWAY AND DUNE FOR THIS GREAT RELEASE! Bow to the masters. :(

 

I finally d/l the entire file. Installed it on my Presario C571NR, it works great. I am expecially pleased that the Apple kernel actually works! I have a question about the kernel tho.

I was so eager to install it that I didn't read the entire post in this forum. I only chose the Vanilla kernel without Vanilla_acpi_fix, then I read it somewhere in this forum that I need to install both. So far it seems to run fine without it, I am wondering if it's absolutely necessary to install kernel_acpi_fix?

 

Here are my picks:

Vanilla_kenel only

No sse2

Azalia_Audio.out

mbr efi (For my triple boot, Ubuntu Gusty + Garbagesoft hastala Vista).

 

As in the previous ToH 10.5 installation, the energy saver didn't have battery indicator, which is an inconvience for notebook, so I replaced the PowerManagement.bundle with the one in JaS 10.4.8 and it works great.

 

Some problems still persist:

1.) I still get quite a few of these in the system log, _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35. What does it mean, how does it affect the OS? It's just annoying but doesn't seem to do anything bad.

 

2.) Sign. Still not able to get the Broadcom4311 internal wireless to work, any suggestions?

3.) Still no headphone output and mic input. Any suggestions?

 

Other then that, it works great. Thank you again.

I can not get my Dell Dimension 4700 up and running. Install goes smoothly then I restart and the drive will not boot. I have tried this 20 different times with different options selected. I am make the drive GUID in disk utility and selecting the guid in the install options. I am also selcting both vanilla, ati video card. The systems specs are:

 

Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.20 GHz

Intel 915G Express

Intel GMA 900

AC '97, High Definition Audio

 

Please help im trying to set this up for my father, he is thinking about buying a iMac and wants to try the OS out first.

Please help me! I downloaded this file from a torrent and I checked its md5. The zip file has the same md5, but when i extract the zip, i get an error saying the .iso has a bad CRC. Heres what it says in winrar to be exact:

 

Can someone help me? Please??????

I had the same problem when I was using winzip but winrar worked..

don't rely on the checksum validator from vista. it cannot see correct chechsum for big files.

if the zip md5 is good. your iso is good, just burn it

i figure out when it crash

when i install 8800GT kexts and framework and have qe/ci

basically it crash in apps that use qe/ci

that's why it was even in toast (it doesn't run if you don't have qe/ci)

SO

anybody here with kalyway and 8800GT 512mb G92 _0611 id ? (QE/CI ENABLED WITH 10.5.2 KEXTS)

just open toast and try to copy a DVD (leave it do only the reading ,don't waste blank dvd)

and if you have final cut studio even better ,open soundtrack pro and load a sound loops there

what happened? did it crash?

help me figure out what's going on ...i can't do it alone

I have a MSI NX 7900 GTO (512MB). If i have selected the NVinject, the boot goes normally but after the grey apple, the screen goes blue to black and stays like this. If i boot -x with NVinject, i could change resolution to 76hz and my monitor (VGA with DVI adaptator) is well detected.

Without NVinject, the boot is normal but i could not change resolution (1024*768@60hz) and my monitor is not recognized.

I'm trying to get kalyways disc to run on my compaq c700 (GUID) in something other then safemode.

 

First off this is not my first install of leopard.. Actually have been running it for 2months first with brazilmac and then with iATKOS.

 

I know the kalyway disc is getting stuck on my x3100 graphics.

 

Says display: family specific matching fails.. basicly cant find a driver to run x3100 graphics

 

I can boot into safemode with kalyway but not into regular mode. So I figured it was that paulicats Natit.kext file was missing from the install causing this (since kalyway did not include it on the disc). Seems like an easy fix just throw it into system/library/extensions and chmod/chown and repair permissions right.

 

Well for some reason when I did that it now wont boot at all but it does see the graphics now (chosen model GMA X3100). I get stuck at the blue screen with both safemode & reg boot. So what else am I missing here?

 

I also tried to see if AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext was causing the issue (its known to screw with x3100 graphics). So I deleted that and still no go. Then I put it back as its the only reason I can get into safemode.

 

So anyone have any ideas? What else do I have to delete or add to the install to get it to run?

 

This is just for fun but I'd like to get it working anyway. I guess if I knew what kalyway did to this disc I would know what I need to change to get it to work. Never has any disc actually allowed me all the way into safemode without the natit driver so hes made some mods for sure.

 

System specs:

Intel 965 Santa Rosa

1.5ghz core duo

Intel GMAX3100 graphics

Broadcom BCM4311

SATA2 80GB Drive on intel ICH controller

Audio works with AppleAzaliaAudio.kext but no headphones or mic working

USB 2.0 fully working

Excelent... i disabled max cpuid value, and system profiler opens fine..

 

one more thing,

I bough Network adapter Ovislink Airlive LFE 8139 HTX, and mac os recognized it just fine.. now i have network too...

 

Last, but not least.. There are easy installer for NVIDIA 8600GTS

Installer installs OpenGL.Framework 10.5.2, installs nviject 2.0 and NVIDIA 8600GTS FINALY WORKING...

I get a circle with line though it at boot to cd...

 

I'm running core two due on AB9Pro with SAta drives set to IDE. (wont even boot that far in ACHI) iATKOS worked other than not giving quartz extreme.

 

 

Any help?

with kalyway 10.5.1 very easy...

I have lots of problem earlier with other patched versions since 10.4.7 till 10.5.0

I also have problem with iAtkos too...

 

With Kalyway 10.5.1, i just formated one partition in Apple File System (Journaled), selected from components only

- Vanilla_kernel

- Vanilla_Acpi_fix

- Azillia_ADI driver, and

- EFI MBR Bootloader

 

Network recognized without any problems.

 

Nvidia 8600GTS via easy installer ( I posted link earlier)

Also when you go to Apple.com/quicktime to download it or to download itunes it detects you Mac (hackintosh) as windows :)

 

What can you do about that ? I m using Kalyway 10.5.1
