Of course OSX86 supports SATA. Where did you get the idea that it doesn't? I have nothing but SATA 2 drives in my machine - no IDE controller at all. 10.5.1 works fine.

 

Now it may not support your particular CONTROLLER, but that's a different story. My MB is Intel G33/ICH9 and everything works fine - SATA HDs and DVD. Looking at your specs - AMD and SiS chipset, I'm not surprised it doesn't work. Apple doesn't use any of that hardware, therefore there are no drivers for it.

 

You need compatible hardware. Your best bet is Intel CPU and Intel chipset.

and it boots fine. it goes to selest language and later to select destenation and ther is the problem its compleatly blank ther are no destenations.then i tryed to attach my w950i to it and it shoed up in the list. i dont have a flash drive bigger then 4gb so if enyone can help pleasefast thenks

plz enyone help me out here i dont now what to do.... :D

im downloading this now. does it work and install with 760 MB of ram? and if it does will it find my linksys wmp54gs wireless card?

it will, but it'll probably be a bit slow with that much ram. don't know about that wireless card. try a search. (the forums search is not very good, i suggest using http://######.com/osx86search/ )

did you use disk utility to format the drive as HFS+(Journaled) ? (warning: this will erase everything on the drive)

Hi everyone ;)

 

I'm new here, Please help me with a problem, I've installed this release on my PC without any problem, my HDD is SATA and completely (160GB) with Mac OS X file system (GUID).

 

So I've restarted PC after successful installation and now it's does not want to boot up at all, I mean it restarts on every boot. I've managed to "Pause/Break" before it restarted and here is what I've got. (see photo)

I have Pentium D 820 with SSE3 CPU and Gigabyte 8I945PL-G with GigaRAID turned off completely.

try these bios settings:

 

To your CPU CONFIGURATION section :

 

MAX CPUID VALUE Limit (or similar) : Disabled

Vanderpool or virtualization : Disabled

CPU TM Function : Enabled

Excecute Disable Bit (or called NX or XD on some mobos) : Enabled (the most important, if not enabled the result is reboot loop with vanilla kernel)

 

To your POWER section :

 

ACPI 2.0 Support : Enabled

ACPI APIC : Enabled

I've downloaded the Kalyway 10.5.1 twice, and burned it twice, after making small changes to the kexts. It boots up to the installer screen, and every now and then hangs on loading a window. It's never one specific place, it just happens whenever, and it's gotten hung up on installing too. Halfway through installing it stops working and i have to reboot.

 

The changes i made to the kexts were adding MeDevil's nForce kext and the 10.4.5 IO80211 kext that was modified for my wireless.

 

The specs are:

 

ECS 570SLIT-A mobo, nforce 4 chipset

2 GB RAM @ 750

Core 2 Duo @2700

2 SATA HD, 80 gig, 320 gig

realtek 883 HD Audio

 

the most pertinent of course is the motherboard and chipset, i know the rest works. The HDs work when i can boot into the installer, and i've been able to partition the 80gig GUID. I've tried multiple different set ups but no luck, if you know what's going on it'd be appreciated

Hello!

 

When I install Kalyway DVD, after installing, when computer restarts, it stops after POST screen (that one with kind of frame and listing of PCI stuff in PC, connected HDD's, memory, processor) and shows blinking cursor on the left bottom.

Then my HDD is starting to work (LED is flashing at very high speed), but Leopard is not loading. I left my computer at this stage for 5h, but nothing happened, hdd was still working and Leopard was not loading.

 

My PC specs:

cpu: Intel Pentium D805

mobo: Gigabyte GA-8I945P-Pro

memory: 2x512mb dual channel @ 533 MHz

hdd: 250GB samsung SATA & 80GB Western Digital ATA

dvd: Samsung ATA

 

other stuff:

ps2 keyboard & mouse

sound: soundblaster x-fi platinum & bulit-in realtek ALC882

asus wlan PCI card

broadcom bluetooth usb dongle

 

I've tried many combinations: installing on GUID & MBR (always correct bootloader), vanilla kernel or not, sse3 or sse2 system, on samsung hdd (sata) and the western digital one (ata) and nothing successfull.

 

Sorry for my English, i know it isn't very good :(

 

Try to use only the SATA HD and see what happends. I think I´ve read something here about PATA AND SATA does´nt work together so well.

Just installed Kalyway 10.5.1 and ran into this:

 

Loading HFS+: [/system/Library/Extensions.mkext] errors encounter while starting up (0x422d500)

 

It then proceeded to boot with higher res text messages. But 80% of the time it would get stuck somewhere in the boot cycle. The other 20% of the time everything looked perfect.

 

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

 

Some details:

mbr installation

partition 1: Vista(ntfs), partition 2: Leopard

boot method: chain0

MSI P965-Neo

Nvidia 6200LE

SATA hard drive

SATA dvd drive

I have the same problem. 2 pages back on pg. 54, there's another guy with the same thing (laserscrewdriver), and another guy replied that:

 

i had the same porblem and fix it by using another sata connector :-)

 

I don't really understand his answer. Did I have to change the sata connector of the real physical drive? What does it have to do with vmware? Anyway, all of my sata connectors are of the same type controller, so I doubt changing it would help.

 

The users above are all inactive for a long time, so I can't PM them to ask. So, does anyone else have any idea how to fix this?

New to the site and I seem to be a bit confused and lost...Where are the download links for leopard? I have tried to get this from other places, but it is a bust. I need help because I would like to have this on my PC because I love using it on my iMac. Any help would be appreciated.

He must mean one of the other SATA connectors on the motherboard... mine has like 7 of them. Try the others.

OK, I went ahead and tried 3 other connectors (of different controllers), but still no go. Any other suggestion?

you can try vanilla kernel at dvd boot ! just type vanilla after f8 !!!

 

you can use Diskutility to format the whole hd as you want ( guid or mbr)!

 

then select custom install !!!

 

this installer will set hd bootable for you !

 

just have to select boot guid or boot mbr depending on what partition map you have chosen before with diskutility

!

CAUTION for mbr choice: we advise you to use an empty disk but if you have no other choice than installing Leo on a disk where windows is already installed, you should be aware of that

the installer will active the leo partition, so to be able to boot again on your windows,

you should install a bootloader (eg. Grub) , or you can active back the windows partition with fdisk and

use chain0 (if your leo partition is under the 200gb of the HD).

 

FIXES include : x11 update (resolve issue wit gimp and some x11 app! ; directoryservices ; otools (resolve packages maker crashes)

 

Some drivers extras setting are present (Only select one driver for each section!! )

This DVD should only be used to preview Mac OS X Leopard. If you really like Mac OS X Leopard and you want to use it,

 

you should get a real Mac. If buying a real Mac is too much, you can, at least, buy a license for Mac OS X Leopard.

Hi,

I have the problem that I can select the boot disk via menu:

hd(0,1) MAC

hd(0,2) ..

 

But when I boot i receive the nice screen telling me that I need to reboot my PC

I use option boot: -v and then find:

IOAPIC Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23

panic (cpu0 caller 0x00402EB5): 'ACPI AcpiOsFree"@/volumes/disk1s2/leo/...../kernel/IOLib.cpp:724

Debugger called: <panic>

 

Does somebody as a solution ?
