I tried to install the Kalyway 10.5.1 SSE2 SSE3 Intel DVD, but as soon as it finishes loading the files the grey apple screen comes up for 2 seconds and my laptop restarts itself. I thought the DVD was messed up, but I had also tried a previous DVD of leopard that works. Same thing happens. My laptop is an Asus U6S. Could it be something in BIOS preventing me from installing or even booting up the DVD. I noticed that my video RAM in Darwin says 14MB when it should be 128MB. I have experience with installing leopard cause I got it working on my Dell Inspiron 9300, but this baffles me. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Leopard 10.5.2 run nearly perfect.

Motherboard: P5LD2 - SE

Core 2 Duo : 6400

Video: Nvidea 7300 GT

Ram : 2gb

3 Sata drives

1.- Partition Mastar Boot

2.- Kalaway 10.5.1 -- without any driver of video sound or LAN, only both vanilla kernel , efi mbr and SSE 2

3.- After installation - Azalia_out package for audio (is inside Kalaway DVD)

4.- For video the Natit package insida Kalaway Dvd works I prefer use Nvinject package v31, I get the link anywhere inside this forum.

5.- upgrade with Kalaway 10.5.2 Combo and Kalaway 10.5.2 vanilla kernell (Warning, if you don't update the vanilla kernel after you upgrade the 10.5.2 your Hack will not wake up after restar, you must instal the update of vanilla kernel after you instal the Kalaway 10.5.2 Combo)

6.- Restar 2 times and then install the leopard graphics Update.

Everything runs easily!!!

And in xBench is 20 points up after the upgrade from Tiger to Leoapard. yeahhh!!!

With the applications evevything is ok but my After Effect Cs3 Path doesn't work, any idea?

Well I hope I help a bit with this.

Luck!!!

Just to note, I've just updated using these instructions. No problems but a couple of points:
  1. Installed the Combo file, repair permissions, restart.
  2. Bios screen, Apple. System restarts. Bios screen, Apple, screens power down....exactly 2 mins later power up, blue screen, system running.

at this point, my display settings had become default again - standard VGA 800x600. when i clicked on Detect displays, primary screen went blank and powered down, secondary was detected and displayed at full 1600x1200, but mouse appears to be frozen. Oops. Never mind. Hard restart and back to Bios screen, Apple, screens power down....exactly 2 mins later power up, blue screen, system running. Phew. Displays still default but I left them alone this time.

  1. Install kernels.mpkg, choosing (in my case) Vanilla
  2. Wasn't prompted to reboot - installation complete only. So I rebooted via the Apple menu...
  3. Bios screen, Apple, straight to blue screen, lovely new 10.5.2 system, with my old display settings, all back to as it was!

Awesome job. Million thanks to all concerned.

I have the same problem. When I connect my TV and click Detect Displays, my monitor powers down and on my TV I have a black screen with a frozen mouse pointer. Has anyone found a solution for this?

Hi, pretty noobish here, but I've been trying this release and it checks the disk before installation, then it tells me it cannot install on this hard drive.

I have a sata hard drive, and I have the whole thing partitioned to Mac OS, have I possibly partitioned it incorrectly or something?

I have had JAS 1.0.4.8 installed on the same drive before.

Hello!

I download the kalyway DVD version and i try to install on my Dell Latitide D610 (The HCL says that my laptot runs osx86 perfectly with kalyway 10.5.1).

Anyway, when i put the DVD and start from it, i get the next error inmediately after i press "enter"

error parsing plist fileLoading Darwin X86

and automatically send me again to the initial boot menu.

What happen? I download the bad version? I'm tried to download from too much torrent's sites, but i can't download anything in several weeks, so i download it from rapidshare link and re-arm with HJSplit

Blank blue screen with cursor upon booting.

For all those who are getting a blank blue screen with a movable cursor that seems upon rebooting after installing leopard 10.5.1 using kalyway install disc. (where the login window never appears) It also applies to only being able to logon by leaving the kalyway disc inside the drive and booting in safe mode.

Follow the following steps to fix this issue.

1. Boot into safe boot by inserting the kalyway disc in the drive. Press F8 when asked and type "rd=DiskXsY" where X is the disk number and Y is the partition number [e.g. "rd=disk0s1" assuming the disk with leopard installed is number one and the partition of the leopard installation is 1] (this can be found in the info in disk utility).

2. After booting which can take up to 5 minutes, when you are presented with the logon window type your password if you have one and/or logon.

3. Open Finder and navigate to the leopard partition. Go to System/Library/ and copy the entire folder named extensions to your desktop for backup. After this delete the Extensions folder in Library.

4. Browse to the kalyway dvd and search for "Extensions" in the dvd. Once found copy this to your leopard partition in system/library. Authenticate if asked to.

5. Search for "extensions.mkext" in the kalyway dvd and copy the file to system/library/ (replace the existing file in the folder.

6. Open up disk utility and repair permissions for the leopard partition.

7. reboot and boot leopard as normal (without the dvd inside the drive), you should now be presented with the logon window and be able to go to your desktop.

hi, guys. I am experiencing a strange problem. DVD boots fine, it goes to installation.I open disk utility and there is no option for partition. There are four other options First Aid, Erase,Raid and Restore. I just don't know how to format with guid or mbr,if there is no option for partition. So, I just erase it and continue to installation. Then I go to customize option and I have tried both mbr and guid bootloaders one by one. Then after doing that I continue to installation. Then it checks dvd, after that installation begins, finishes and asks for restart. but it does not boot again. I have tried iatkos 1.01 r2 also and even with that I don't get Partition option. Installation goes fine with both but none of them boots after installtion. I am confused now after trying for two days.

Here are my specs :-

Model - Dell Optiplex gx270 (integrated Intel graphics)

Pentium 4 , 3.0 GHZ , 1 GB ram

Hi everyone, sorry if this has already been covered, but I guess I'm not really good with the search engine because I wasn't able to accurately find any of the relevant posts.

First off, of course thanks to Kaly and Dune for all their work and support.

I just installed my system on a Gigabyte P35-DS4 motherboard. I'm still working out some kinks like getting wireless to work (any suggestions on this as well?), but in general I'm pretty happy because the system is up and running!

Now here's the problem. I have 3 Hard Drives, 750GB each, all connected via SATA. Not sure why, but one detects at 698GB, one detects at 128GB, and one doesn't detect at all. Is there any way I can resolve this problem?

Here are my general specs:

GA-P35-DS4

E8400

8800GT 258MB

@Mandeep

To choose GUID or MBR, you have to repartition your HDD again. Click on your HDD on the left, click Partition on the right, choose how many partitions you want, click Options below it.

My Problem now.

My Kalyway installation without vanilla kernel and boot are fine to the screen "Do you really own a Mac ?". Because I dont have any information to transfer, so I choose "Dont transfer ... ", this screen disappears for a while and the first screen "Choose your location" (or sth. like that) comes back. I cant never finish the registration and start in Leopard.

The installation with vanilla kernel runs also fine but causes boot loop.

Help me !!!!!

Hope maybe someone can give me some help.

I've install 5.1.1 kalyway on xps m1330 that works except for the networking and sound had to play with it but it works.

I'm now trying to install it on a my desktop machine. It installs and i'm able to get to the part where you select language but then it when it gets to the part of restoring or importing data from another machine or partition it just restarts the proccess again( it loops), and it asks me for the same information again. Has anyone encounter this problem? if so how can i get arround it? or any information would be helpfull.

thanks in advance

JESUS CHRIST

People don't even read the last page anymore!? The SAME EXACT problem was posted two posts above yours (as well as many, many, many earlier times in this thread).

It's obviously pointless to answer questions in this thread, so I'm done. Good luck.

everything seems to install fine then there are some problems, firstly the machine will hang unless the installation dvd is in the drive upon reboot.also when I finally manage to get the PC to boot and get to the apple welcome screen with the setup option, I select the one for not transferring from an old mac and there is a slight delay followed by the OS X video playing again on a loop.the specs on what I have are belowC2D T5500 (1.73)Intel 945 Chipset (main broad I think)intel sata controllerIntel HD Audio (works fine as I can hear the music)I have tried installing using Vanilla and formatting the hard drive upon MBR followed by the correct boot settings on the customisation screen prior to install.anyone know what is going on and how to fix pls?CheersScottclearly I did not read the post 2 up from mine, I will see what happens if I try these suggestions.Cheers

Ok. I'm New here and trying to install kalyway_leo_10.5.1.iso (4699717632 bytes) on my NEW PC.

Doing things step by step I ask:

I burned on another PC the image on a dvd then I put the DVD into the DVD drive on the NEW PC.

The message is: System config file '/com.apple.boot.plist' not found.

Is this because my DVD player is EIDE?

Must I buy a SATA one?

Excuse my english and thanks for this first step

P.S. The new PC has ASUS P5KC ASUS motherboard And Intel Q6600 CPU, and Palit Nvidia GE force 7300GT 512MB graphic adapter.

In this PC I have 2 HD drives (SATA). In the first there is Windows XP (but I disconected it, the HD is into a box and i extracted it). The other HD is empty, not formatted. It will be formatted during installation?

unless I have the installation dvd in the drive I cannot access the darwin boot loader and when I do, its only letting me select options for installing the software again, nothing to let me enter -s or -x mode?

how very strange..

also, I have looked at my bios and the only settings I can change is the execute bit one and that is set to enabled, there is nothing else that can be changed.
