Arkanius
Guys, I get during the setup (Or while entering the setup) the "Please restart your system, etc etc etc" I'm installing on an IDE HDD using a SATA DVD-RW burner. I'm using a Q6660 (QuadCore) on a eVGA nForce 4 680i. Do you guys know what might be the problem?
quantenz
So how is it? It works with Quad Core? I have Q6600 and after I read your posts I'm worried about working Leo on my computer. Oh, and SATA hdds work completly fine now? (sorry for my english if you don't know what I wrote)
ninetto
OK OK just to add my humble opinion that this install is ONE FANTASTIC PIECE of work, spreading JOY and honor of OSX! For the HCL/other record: install was EASY as pie on a SONY SZ5 Laptop -stamina mode (gma950) with following options: Efi MBR VANILLA KERNAL /ASPCI Fix NO video drivers Took all of 20 minute to have Leo up and running! Thanks thanks Kaly I am donating immediately... more-than-cool that you and yours have released this for all the osx86 freaks! Now I just have to patch the sound on that laptop and put the machine to good use... yeah! ninetto
eluminx
I don't know if this issue has been resolved in this thread, i just looked through almost 40 pages and i didn't see any solution to this yet, so i thought i see if anyone can help me with this issue. I finally got OSX installed on a IDE drive (for the 4th time), now my problem lies when i start the process of starting OSX, it reaches the part where it says it needs to recognize my keyboard. Passes that, then reaches the part where it says if i want to transfer info from another Mac, i click on "no" but then it just loops back to recognizing my keyboard. It will do this, no matter what connection i use for my kb, USB, PS2 or another PS2 keyboard and mouse. Any help would be greatly appreciated it, i've gotten this far it would be a shame if there wasnt anything else to try...

Maybe a repair permissions on another mac or from the installer will fix it?

Oh, and SATA hdds work completly fine now? (sorry for my english if you don't know what I wrote) it works nicely with a Q6600. Look at my config The Q6600 is view as a "2,40 GHz unknown" processor. but that's normal cos no Mac are bundled with a core2Quad. But anyway it works like a charm and all core and cache memory are seen correctly.

williwilliwilli
Still Problem on P5K-E: Wifi!! I will try to explain what is going wrong for me: 1. I start off with all ethernet entries removed in network preferences and reboot to start freshly. 2. On reboot the Realtek utility asks me to activate the wlan, so I add it (+) 3. It is added and in the first few seconds all seems normal (it goes from "not connected" to "self-assigned-ip") but then it goes back to "not connected" (after 5-10 seconds). 4. If I go back to Realtek utility during this process I can see my wireless network and connect to it, but when the ethernet changes to "not connected" this connection also drops. 5. After the change to "not connected" I can neither see nor connect to my wlan again. Removing and re-adding the wifi in network preferences does not change anything anymore. So, no wifi for me :-( Anyone have an idea? Anyone experience the same? Did just the Kalyway install (Vanilla Kernel) on P5K-E Wifi-AP. This is my ONLY problem!! So thank you heaps for this release. On top, I really appreciate the tremendous amount of support you give in this thread, thanks DUNE!!!

williwilliwilli
Are you sure the signal is correct. i mean between your router and your PC ? You mean a hardware problem? Hmm. The board is new, so might be some malfunction there. I will test under windows... Actually, one time the connection didn't break down but stayed up until I rebooted (nothing that I had obviously done differently). It is a connection to an AirPort Express Base station, which I would only use to transmit music... I would soooo love to do that! Thanks, I will get back tomorrow! FishMate
Hello! First off a big THANK YOU to Kaly and all the smart people behind this wonderful release. I have been using AMD but switched yesterday to a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R with a Q6600 quad. Have to admit this is great!!! I just have a couple of questions = 1. I used Vanilla kernel from the options but still my boot ROM shows Hackintosh. Is this normal? How can I get a proper Boot Rom showing? 2. Does bootcamp work with the ROM showing Hackintosh? undrwater
I've got a successful install of kalyway 10.5.1 on an acer travelmate 2410. I've seen mixed reports regarding the success on this machine in the HCL's. After the install, machine reboots, boots successfully from the darwin booter, begins to load (grey screen with circle animation), then reboots. When I give the -v option at boot, I get the following just before reboot: Can't determine dependencies for org.tgwbd.driver.ACPIPS2Nub Got boot device = IOService:(bunch of stuff) BSD root: disk0s1, major 14, minor 1 syncing disks...killing all processes Continuing Maybe I should be using a different install method? The above dependency appears to be related to ps/2? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Russell

This was discussed a few pages back, including a way to change it if you absolutely have to (there's no real reason to, it's just cosmetic). 2. Why would you use Boot Camp on a PC? It's meant for Mac hardware. You don't need it. I have the same mobo and processor and everything works fine. Read my post: #853 if you want some more info on my install. stormlight
any know what changes Dune or Kaly made to the base system thats dif from toh brazil or iotkas. Im having some trouble with some apps striclty in Kaly only, not iotkas toh or brazil. I like Kaly the best but i need to know some of the base files that where changed..not the ones that you can select in customize. For example logmein.com and mozy wont work in Kaly with a base install with no extras selected besides efi, howerver it does work in all the others with teh same simple base install. Im trying to find out by process of elimination what is causing logmein to bomb out..thanks logmein error rocess: LogMeIn [198] Path: /Library/Application Support/LogMeIn/bin/LogMeIn.app/Contents/MacOS/LogMeIn Identifier: LogMeIn Version: ???
