williwilliwilli
you have just to add the ethernet(+) that corresponds to the wifi in the network preferences windows. if it doesn't work, delete all ethernet entries(-) and add them back(+) then apply. Do not touch to any kext please. this release works perfectly with the P5K-E. that's my second mobo. The backups folder contains "Original" kext from Apple ! Do not use those kexts for your mobo ! Ahhh, thanks!! The Wifi just didn't show up in network preferences! Now I just have to get it to boot again! The script backed up the Extensions folder into "Extensions.backup" So I just have to replace the (changed) "Extensions" with "Extensions.backup", right? And then? Any fixing permissions or anything? Thanks a lot, Willi
goingmad
Hello gents and first of all thanks for all your hard work on this outstanding forum! I'm trying to install the new masterpiece coming from Kaly, but my brand new Lenovo T61 mod. 7663-B22 seems to be a bit away to become (almost) operative. Even if a Nvidia is present in the laptop, I'm forced to avoid installation of drivers in the dvd, otherwise the boot process afterwards will stop forcing an hard shutdown. Also network (both wired and wifi seems not to be recognized) doesn't work at all... To be brief: My headache comes mainly from these items: NVIDIA QUADRO NVS 140M INTEL 82566MM GIGABIT CONNECTION INTEL WIRELESS WIFI LINK 4965AGN Hints to solve all of that? evanrodge
Hi guys, I have an MSI board (the Neo2 FR) and this is the ONLY DVD that will boot on it. And I can install fine with MBR or GUID, but when it comes time to boot it, I just get a blinking cursor and my HDD light is half on. Whats the deal? As I said this is the only DVD that will boot, so I have to make this work. Thanks, Evan

ixcell
Ok. I am a little confused as to what I am suppoed to do. I downloaded the "KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3.zip" file from TPB, and then used Karen's Power Tools Hasher (which checks the MD5 hash of a file). The hash for the zip file above matched the MD5 which Kaly posted. Next, I double clicked on the zip file to open it in WinRAR. It gave me 2 folders. ___MACOSX or KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3. I opened the Kalyway one, and found the readme, TIFF pictures and a .DS_store file, as well as the "kalyway_leo_10.5.1.iso" file. Then I noticed that the kalyway_leo_10.5.1.iso file's size was odd. It said packed was 3,768,930,157, and size was 404,750,336. I clicked extract anyways, but when the extraction finished in a few minutes, it gave me an error message. I then closed WinRAR, and went to go see if it extracted something. It did extract the ISO, but it was only 386mb. I tried the same steps in 7-Zip, and 7-Zip gave me the same CRC error, and a 386mb file. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to just rename the "KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3.zip" file to .iso, and then burn the image, or something else? Please help me!! quarterpounder
kaly, dune31: I need to say this clearly: Thank you very much! You did a really good job! I installed your distribution on a Gigabyte P35 and on a Thinkpad T60 - both without much hazzle... On the P35 I had at first some problems as some packages didn't install including background-pic, icons and even 10.5.1 update... this way I could already try genuine Mac-update which went very well btw. This was due to my boot-priorities etc. with which matters I don't want to bore you But this hasn't sth to do with your release. Even the Thinkpad installed very well, ati mobility x1400 isn't well supported atm we know. Well, I really appreciate your fine distro and I am very thankful for all the nice tools! Keep them in if you make any new distro! Most of them are useful for everyone if you think alone about all the noobs wasting the forums á la 'how do i change permissions' :-) And for the gags with orange background & icons: I call this the price the "loosers" (excuse me) have to pay for so doing this much work they never couldn't achieve for themselves... And it's really not much to remove this all (I don't like this either) - even before you delivered your own revirginizer (which is really a cute word). Keep on this (kaly)way! binary.koala
not such glorious results here with my thinkpad x61s: install completes smoothly and quick but ethernet, wifi, HDA and sleep are not there. x3100 is working with CI/QE *but* only with external screen, the laptop monitor is blue on boot and black after connecting VGA. perhaps i need EFI (it's not on the release right?) but first i'll try iATKOS, still hoping for some magic
CWempe
Fist: Thank you!!! But I am a kind of noob with EFI, MBR and MacOS. When I boot the DVD it's loading many files (I can see with "-v"). But after ~2 min my Notebook reboots. Without "-v" a grey Apple-Bootscreen comes up for a second. I guess it's something with my HD. I had Vista and Ubuntu in DualBoot with grub. Now I deleted all partitions. (Grub ist still there!!) What have I have to do to "install EFI" or something? (this sentence sounds wiered; correct english?) i read something about diskutil. But what is that and how do I start it? Thanks for your help... Christoph ___________ My Notebook
NOlo
Thank You very very much for this release... I can report a successful install at my first try, heres my specs and what I did: Specs: Dell Inspiron 9300 SSE2 512ram Ati mobility X300 Intel Pro wireless 2200 What is working and not working: Audio: fine Video: stuck at 1600x1200 (although I specified 1920x1200 at boot), the card is not recognized. Wireless: My card is not detected, I tried installing iwi2200 but it messed up my install (endless reboot cycle) touchpad: works fine (except, it is recognized as a normal mouse) What i did to install 1.-insert kay dvd 2.- restart to the dvd 3.- use disk utility to format my disk, selecting MBR 4.- start instalation, select the following only: SSE2 MBR thingy (dont select any audio, video or networking drivers--- that worked for me) 5.- start the installation, move your mouse once in a while to avoid problems 6.- finish the installation and restart into macosx leopard Now if anyone would be so generous to help me to set up my video card... to use full resolution (1920x1200) Ill be forever greatful, also the wireless thing, I dont have a clue of how to fix it. Thank you very much, I hope my info could help someone.

evanrodge
Post 469 doesn't always work! Didn't for me, or any other posted suggestion... would really like help... Yeah, this really didn't work. However, it could be because of the way I did it. Because my drive is 300GB, it would take FOREVER to zero out. So I partitioned it to 10GB and 290GB. I zeroed out the first drive, and THEN repartitioned the drive AGAIN as a 10GB drive and 290GB drive using MBR as my EFI choice so it would "install" EFI. Question: when I use the "erase" tab in disk utility, does it install EFI like the partition tab does? I would also like to point out that the damn cursor appears exactly the same way if I boot the drive OS X is installed on in VMware. Just for the record, leopard IS installed on the drive. I just can't get it to boot!

I had already done that and it makes my display enter 1600x1200 resolution instead, thats the max resolution Im getting... so in other words, Im stuck with 4:3 aspect and no widescreen (1920x1200) Is there any other way to enable it? I just can't get it to boot! I'm using a 40gb laptop hard drive, so I zeroed the entire thing, only took about 20 minutes. Others have suggested you try and install EFI after to get rid of the linking cursor, which I did, while it does get rid of the blinking cursor, it replaces it with a b0 error.
