Da11y
I've done like my 6th installation and still the same problem. It installs fine but when it restarts it gets to the white screen with the grey apple logo and tries loading. I see the circle animated loading icon but it just hangs there. Does anyone know why this may be happening. I installed vanilla kernal and the fix patch and the efi guid and thats all and still no results. Im installing to a fresh HDD that has no windows installed.
DualC
I know that its Sound Max. The codec I postet is the only one I found for this. What did you ask about "analog device"? I did´nt understand your question. Maybe because of my english. Didi you try the azalia? I think, tis was the one that works for me. I looked and its still installed. Otherwise it would be removed by taruga. The only way to control, as far as I know, is to look in system preferences/sound if it works. Anyway, here is an other one. But be careful. Check only the sound-box in the installer. Thanks again... About the Analog Devices... never mind.. I try the last, file u attached .. after what i guess i need to get deeper to the corefiles in the Distrubution =) And a last thing, ur English is good =) /M

SSE2 patch cos my Vaio supports it. and also the efi_guid because I formatted my HDD as GUID.(Its a fresh HDD) Tried with nvinject and network and it never worked and then tried without network and nvinject and still didn't work. I can't seem to work out where I'm goin wrong Any help would be apreciated Edit : By da way I forgot 2 mention I don't have this problem when I installed Kalway's OS X Tiger. peerless
According to the Asus spec site, my mobo is equipped with ADI® AD1988B (am I wrong?!? P5K-E WiFi/AP). I found a linux dump here: http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/ADI/ Tried the 1.20 patcher with this dump but: AppleHDA Patcher - 2006/2007 by Taruga v1.20 _______________________________________________________ Codec : Analog Devices AD1988B Vendor Id : 0x11d4198b Subsystem Id : 0x104381f6 _______________________________________________________ This codec is not working at the moment, it needs more research Could you share your dump if its different from the one I've got? dscrap
I have been at this all afternoon. I installed 7 times and still can't get it to work. I have a Dell Dimension 5150 /e510. I have installed Vanilla, no vanilla, GUID, and MBR in different combinations and I just can't get it to work. It seems to install fine without Vanilla and either GUID or MBR, but I keep getting looped at the Welcome screen. I get as far as transfering files, which I select do not transfer files, then it loops back to the welcome screen. Any suggestions. I read all 54 pages of this post and ave seen this problem mentioned several times, but no one has posted a solution or even any ideas of what to try. I might just give up... Help!!!! Thanks! junior
Thanx for your help... but -x won't work... not for me... it does nothing;.. with -v is see that he's loading the extensions but he restarted right before he load's the installation... And updating... That's the problem... You can update to 10.4.x but not updating to 10.5.. And when you trow in this Leopard DVD, and launch the installation dmg, he said please, restart, so you can run installation... And then i'm back to my problem. Anyone else suggestions, ( sorry for my bad english.) Grtz, Tanx
laserscrewdriver
I have got this screen just about every time I try to install, I just wait it out, then the intstaller starts. I think I am about a the 10th attempt. The first time I installed I just walked away and it seemed to do just fine, but after the reboot, it hung ant the new gray screen before the steup assistant, I waited about an hour before I restarted. then It wouldn't recognize the drive. Since I have tryed "vanilla" "GUID" "SSE2" "MBR" , none of which yeald a sucessful install. Now no matter what I do I get the "Failed Install" screen. I have got to page 24 of this thread, my eyes hurt, I Got KALWAY on the 30th and have been trying since. Any advice or or link to post between p24 and p54 that address my issues, would be appreciated.
