ok:)))) everything is work...gigabyte x38 dq6 mainboard-intel q6600-nida 7600gs-250 gb sata hdd and 120 gb ata hdd-2 gb 800 mhz ram-toshıba sata dvd and lg ata dvd-ac889 sound(after patch) m-audio ozone- m-audıo azıom 61 amd logıc pro.....

but....!xbench score is 137 it's not different for my old tiger 10.4.9...however thx kaly great work for me...vanilla kernel and eveything is ok..great...

 

ha i forgot...sleep and shutdown is not work correctly...how can be fix that..and sorry for my bad english...:)))

Can anyone help me?

 

I've read through the thread, and noticed other people have the boot.plist error come up after installation, but it comes up for me when I initially try to boot from the DVD. I'm trying to boot off a USB DVD drive and cannot even get the installer to boot.

 

 

If you, or anyone else, is still stuck on this, try ejecting the DVD, restart, and once it starts booting off of the hard drive, shove the DVD back in the drive (quick like).

I am finally with a working machine...I am quite happy. I am using onboard video (bleh!), I was wondering:

 

1. Can I upgrade my video card? to an ATI 2600 or something close to it

2. What steps will be necessary to get the machine to see it?

 

(Also what if I add new hardware, how do I get the machine to see it?)

for those (like me) trying to install Kalyway 10.5.1 on ur Pentium 4 SSE2 and seem to have reboots, iAtkos has a ppf patch that gives support for SSE2. you might want to try it. post in a new thread if you have success in installing it..

Hi everyone!

 

Anyone know why I am still getting the welcome screen looping after I select "Do not migrate from another system" ? I got the install through but can't seem to get to the desktop.

I did fresh install with the GUID partition on the entire HD and install with no other options selected for drivers other than the boot loader. I have a Dell E510 I think a P4 3ghz HT.

 

 

Any clue?

AH HAH !!!!! that explains the dvd boot problems .

 

it looks like the pentium 4 sse2 cpu does not support 64 bit so it crashes and panics on booting.

 

since (correct me if i am wrong) tiger does not support 64 bit processors it has no problem with older 32 bit cpu's.

I have a Bad Axe 2 system that is working great after using a sound patch from weaksauce that is posted in another thread. Took me a few days of trying both iAtkos and Kalyways disks. Kalyways worked for me finally.

 

Spent a few hours today trying to get my Epson printers CX4800 and Epson Scan 2000 working. They would work somewhat on some pages and not others. I finally downloaded Gutenprint beta for 10.5 and they now work like a charm!

 

Thanks Kaly for the great release - I couldn't be happier!

 

Anyone needs help getting thier Bad Axe 2 going let me know.

hrm, I got it to work on my system... I am using a p5k-se for anyone interested. It was pretty simple, it booted up the disk correctly, and installed fine. Just dont go expecting it to work on an ide hdd for those with that mobo.... it only saw my sata and usb hard disks.

edit: Nevermind Nvinjet have separate Nvidia Go (mobile) drivers on their website... They work! Would be nice if these were added to the next Kalaway release so us noobs don't have such a hard time figuring out why things don't work...

 

Are there any working drivers for the Go7700 Nvidia mobile cards?

 

I've tried Nvinject and natit but with these I can only boot in Safe mode...

actually the answer is NO. I was hoping for a 8800GT G92 kext soon (also applies to GTS) but that won't happen. The best thing to do, is to wait 2 months until Apple releases 10.5.2 (with native support of 8800 G92)

 

What about NVinject ? Could this work ?

if you do more stuff you will still get the kernel panic

for example using final cut for half an hour

even the screensaver (1/100) could cause the kp

i have the same mobo as you ,1st i thought it is because of my 8800GT but now i'm not sure..

what gfx card you have?

maybe you are with the 10.5.2 files?

if yes ,the problem 99% is there

No more problems with unpacking big files.

(Of course a little bit slower + can't see SATA 3+4 in OSX)

 

Must be something with the new SATA driver for ICH9.

Two quick questions:

 

I'm going to install it on a Pentium 4 HT Northwood with SSE2 support. The only option I have is the patched kernel?

With GUID partition scheme will I be able to install Windows XP for dual booting or I should stick to Vista?

I don't want to install Kalyway on top of my iATKOS just to find out it doesn't work...

it explained nothing. DVD is made for boot on SSE2.But when you install system on SSE3 , this one is full 64 bits.

Dune31, can u help me on multi booting?

i would like to add this into my Windows Vista's Bootloader so i dont have to press F12 from Bios to to select Leopard harddrive for booting.

 

 

this is my setup

 

1st Harddrive -

Partition 1 : windows Vista

Partition 2 : LINUX

 

2nd Harddrive - Guid

Partition 1 - EFI

Partition 2 - Leopard

Partition 3 - Data

Blinking cursor fix:Blinking cursor happens because the apple bootloader isn't loading. To fix this, you need to dd over the bootloader to the beginning sectors of the harddrive. This is also needed if you install another os such as xp/vista on another partition after you've already installed osx (whether guid or mbr) because other operating systems replace the bootloader.Boot a leo install disk and first unmount all partitions on the drive you're booting from. Use diskutility, or in terminal type:diskutility unmount disk0s1Note: replace 0 and 1 with your appropriate disk and partition(s)After that's done, open terminal and type:
dd if=./boot0 of=/dev/diskX bs=400 count=1

Where X is the # of your disk (disk0 if its the first harddrive)You need the file boot0 to do this, and you need to cd to the directory where you have this file. You can get it in the efi pack in the first post of the thread below and put it on a usb drive, or it is probably somewhere on the kalyway dvd. Also see the thread below for more information on this. Alright, so I followed your directions and it got rid of my blinking cursor problem, but now I get a b0 error. I think this is because the boot0 in the file in that thread is for GUID and I installed with MBR. Can anyone show me where to get a MBR boot0 file?

 

I've read the previous b0 error fixes that say to mark the partition as active, which I've done, and it doesn't help.

 

PS: The OS starts up fine when the install DVD is in the drive... just need to get it working without DVD
