crashed again :)

why why why???

i'm trying all these days to understand

i had 5 apps running with music/video

safari open ,itunes

a movie was playing in quicktime ...no crash for 30 minutes

and then i said push it more i must be sure so i opened toast

and choosed to copy a 4GB DVD ...it crashed at the half of the reading process

toast was an example ,this could happen if another app was doing something "heavy"

could it be the bios settings????

somebody plz post the bios settings...i don't know what else to do

this was a clear installation (3rd time) with no updates on guid partition and vanilla kerne+acpi_fix (installed manually after boot to osx for 1st time)

system is overclocked but i had tested a lot with normal clocks also

and console doesn't give me a clue what cause the crashes!

Hi All!

This sounds like a great release. Is there any way to turn the ACPI in the DVD bootup off? My system hangs right after the EFI is loaded and the SMBIOS and the ACPI. My bios has no option to turn on or off the ACPI feature and after F8 I cant see all the boot options when typing "?" after F8. Is there a list of the boot options somewhere for this release? Also can you turn off EFI as well?

Im trying to install on an SSE2 machine

Thanks!

Coulssomeone please help me with this?

I Had the same problem with my download... I need help too!

Thank you

I had the same problem: both unzip and 7zip on Windows XP reported error msgs. But I then tried unzip it on a Mac (iATKOS installation) and it was a success. Now I am posting this on the Kalyway Leopard. I know this is not much of a solution if you don't have a running Mac OSX... Good luck anyway.

well mate. Some of you have problems with PS2 keyboard. the vanilla ACPI with ps2 fix integrate in its plugin a kext called ACPIPS2Nub.kext.

but there is a bug in this last one. If you have an usb mouse , your PS2 keyboard is no more detected. this is why some of you have their PS2 keyboards not working. I made a new AppleACPIplatform.kext with a correct ACPIPS2Nub.kext in it.

You can find it here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/79030248/Apple...m.kext.zip.html

Just replace it with kexthelper. now it should works ;)

I don't know what is kexthelper (I am searching) so if you could PM me with some adress or smth your help would be tremedeous!

Well, the simplest way is to connect your mouse in ps2, just the time for installing the new kext. the old ACPIPS2Nub.kext will working for your PS2 Keyboard.

Kexthelp is integrated in our release, you will find it in Application folder.

Hello root2. I am using the same board and have the same settings. I asked a couple of posts up if people are seeing hackintosh instead of mac in geekbench. I am wondering if we that are running vanilla beautifully are still reporting hackintosh for some reason?

Asus P5W DH Deluxe Guide

BIOS VERSION: 2406

Do all like the pictures show you, and config the BIOS in the same way!

Because I have so much off kernel panics :D , now all works fine.

This has been said many times ! the new version of geekbench see again "Hackintosh"so do not rely on geekbench to know if you have Vanilla or not !

I posted earlier but no one got back to me. I have Kalyway sucessfully installed on my build in my sig. I am trying to install on my father Dell Dimension 4700, it has the Intel 915G chipset. I get a sucessful install but we reboot and the drive is not there...or it is just not bootable. I am not sure if we have to make it active somehow. I am selecting both vanilla options and installing it as GUID and checking the guid boot option. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

its oc

i'm gonna set it to default again cause now it's a new installation

it was not the pci card ...crashed again

at least i have a fast way to test if it will crash : i give it 4gb to read from the DVD

but the problem is not there ,i had remove the dvd from the cables before and crashed again ...

i don;t know where else to point really

reboot now nonOC and post again if it'll crash
