I say "ten" because it's the correct way to say it. I can't believe 70% of the people here say "ex" though. I do however say osx86 as "oh es ex eighty six," since x86 is ex 86, not ten 86.

I am a new (very new!) Mac user, having bought my first Mac only three weeks ago.

When I was doing the research (whether to renew my laptop with Windoze laptop or a Macbook) I found myself in the Apple store in Birmingham (UK)

Very helpful, and convinced me the Mac was the way to go. (Why I didn't do this years ago is beyond me....but there you go)

While we were talking about the Macbook I asked how difficult it would be to swap from Windoze to OS Ex.

It was gently pointed out to me that it was OS Ten and it is as wrong to call it OS Ex as it would be to call Windows XP, "Windows 10p"

Which, of course, is roughly what it is worth.

Dan :)

I am not going to post a direct quote, but is it not funny when some people mispell lots a words whilst describing those that call it "OS EX" stupid or ignorant. Steve Jobs isnt a profit, and OS x source code isnt a holy book, so call it and him whatever you like.

I dont judge people by how they speak, but by what they say.

Of course, if Stevie Boy were to give me a free Mac Pro, w/ cinema display, I will call him whatever he prefers.

Oh, and I cant spell very well either, thats why I didnt post a direct quote.

I say X as a letter. In my opinion if it is correct to say 10 (which is correct concerning Apple) than we should stop writing OSX 10.4.10 It is like saying 10 two times. IF we write OSX 10.4.10 and IF Apple does it also, then they bare in mind that the X sign will be pronounced as a part of a name. Let's start writing OS 10.4.10.

surely 'ten' as i read.

definitly you can read eks friendly but this 'X' means number, doesn't it?

And additionally, if you read Mac OS X as fast you can, you can realize the last reason.

Macoueseks it pronounces..

----seks... :D

I've been saying "oh-ess-ex" since.. well, forever! Lately though I've started trying to get into the habit of saying "10" instead.
