CD not booting.I try to put-x-v-x -legacy-v -legacybut no luck. keep rebootingAnyone help
In these releases those options you tried don't work it only works with ToH or BrazilMacTry -f like i did and also in my laptop bios (toshiba a200) i changed "Execute-Disable Bit Compatibility" to Enabled
can't -f cause i don't see the darwin bootit reboots at this point!what kind of changes at the bios??i did a lot but maybe i missed somethingi never had any problem with other osx86 dvds
Try to catch the boot screen by hitting F8 right after bios screen then enter -f right there
I've finally finished downloading iATKOS but it just reboots the PC about 5-10 seconds after pressing any key to install OSX.I have a 4core-dual VSTA mobo with an E6600 and a 7600GT that I've had 10.4.9 installed on before (with a radeon 9800Pro) with the usual sata problems. I have tried with HPET on and off.I've tried 2 different IDE hard drives, 1 maxtor and 1 Western Digital.Anybody know why this might happen?
You don't explain much, you said you downloaded it and then ? did u install it or just booting with the dvd? and if you installed did u do a clean install or u did on the top of Tiger ??

I've finally managed to get iATKOS 1.0i and it rebbots my PC about 5-10 seconds after the message to press anykey to install.

I have an Asrock 4core-Dual VSTA mobo

E6600

7600GT

I had previously been running 10.4.9 on this setup minus the 7600GT which replaced a 9800Pro

Anybody have any ideas as to why it reboots the PC ?

giving up for now,

did a couple of installes,... also darwin boot loader/efi script has usb keyboard issues,....

till I figured out on my laptop, it's got an ide to sata, probably jmicron,...

----

did a couple of installs on desktop,...... darwin loader, script, usb keyboard issue,.... would not take the numbers in time,...

then later got it to boot of cd,.... keyboard setup,... do not copy,... hung reboot, keyboard setup hung,...

before that, also reboots,.... with efi,

guess for the laptop, need to get sata drive, for desktop don't know, looks like kalyway give it a try,

and maybe edit the darwin.command script,... maybe even a new keyboard,....

for those who have booting loop with either kalyway or iaktos do -f and it should work also u need some bios changes to be able to boot

Please explain this a bit more. Does I have do type -f everytime I boot or is there a fix? And what does it makes?

The bios-things are clear, I´ve read it.

Okay, I just tried to install it and it's doing the same BS to me.

Darwin isn't even loading, and my PC is going straight to the network loader. I've checked that the partition is formatted as MBR, and everything is set up right. Does anyone have a clue what it's doing and why Darwin isn't loading on restart?

Hello all,

I've tried uphuck's iATKOS this morning, every thing was good, DVD boot was smooth, formated my second hard disk's second partition and installed it and I chooses the specific hardware which I've required? I've installed with Stack Kernel with EFI. Installation was successful, after I reboot the only problem found is the blinking cursor. I've not tried the script in Utilities for Darwin boot loader! But I think we have to install boot loader to the specific partition before we install the who leopard.

I'll give a try again booting through DVD and install the darwin, I hope it will work. If any one already has the same issue and solved the problem please post you solution here.

And any other issues regarding the DVD and after install will be good feed back for the developer himself.

Note: Thanks alot uphuck and eskurza! You have been so great and have a happy X'mas. ;)

I tried the iATKOS 10.5 rc2 and iATKOS V1.0 DVD (10.5.1) on a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4487.

Since this system has 2 hard drives - left billy's vista on the 100GB sata drive and partitioned the 2 drive a 120gb sata with iatkos dvd disk utility, ran the darwin boot utility, and installed the os. Tried a couple combinations of install options and left with the same result - blink cursoron reboot.

I rate any of these releases a bust at this time.

I reinstalled the upchuck 10.4.11 with the a ZD1211 driver added after install. The system is running with the built in eithernet, external wireless. Can not built in intel 3984 since the exsisting driver only allows open networks no wep/wpa. Built in sound kind of works (ALC862-VD) using azilla drivers. Tried the HDA patcher and all it willgive sound thru speakers, no headphones or line in/mic jack.

I think the 10.5 move may have wait like what happen with Tiger's move to x86. Things really did not smooth out till 10.4 or so.

If you don't install the bootloader by running the "Darwin Boot" script under the "Utilities" menu item on the iATKOS install disk, you will get the "blinking cursor".

Disk Utility will NOT set the drive to have a -boot flag, meaning the drive won't boot. You're going to need to use gparted in order to write the boot flag to the partition.

Not having the "boot" flag set also results in the "blinking cursor" symptom.

:(

First installed 10.4.8 JaS with MBR partition i.e; Leopard

with iATKOS DVD (Disk Utility)again Erased the MBR partition Leopard ( Don't Partition Drive Again)

Run Darwin Script Make sure to enter HDD as 1 Partition 1 for disk0s1

Installed with Main System ,Stock Kernel , Drivers -Natit and NTFS-3G

Bootable Leopard .

Reinstalled the 10.5.1 package (from apple downloads) to make sure EFI installed successfully

System booted after update :)

Sleep ,Time Machine working . NTFS drive working fine Both Read and Write

Four Cores Working fine ,see the picture . From apple Xcodetools Processor prePane See this as Intel Xeon 51XX with Four cores

Didn't installed AppleSMBIOS for netkas. About This mac shows correct Speed , System Profile identified the Correct Processor, Speed and machine Model P35-DS4

Internal Drive icon shows correctly. and Drive shows as internal

P.S Installed Kalyway but internal SATA still shows Yellow as external Drive

In Kalyway you just have toi change bios setting from ahci to ide - all drives shown and internal - so you can do what an old Ginger Baker Song says: DO WHAT YOU LIKE! Merry X-mas... :D
