Hi

I succesfuly installed from retail dvd using boot-132 method and updated to 10.5.1, next 10.5.5 (ComboUpdater from Apple) and installed needed kexts.

Everything seemed to work, but I noticed that DVD drive stoped respond (no ejected) after few minutes with disk in it (can't eject other removables too).

Tried different combinations, various of kexts, no results. I've the same problem with GA-G33-DS3R. Both mobos has ICH9R.

Anybody noticed that issue? How can I resolve it?

Mobo: GA-G33M-DS2R (SATA in AHCI and Native mode)

CPU: C2D E6600

RAM: 4x1GB OCZ SpecOps 800MHz

VGA: Quadro FX 570 (256 MB)

HDD1, HDD2: WD 40 SATA

HDD3: Seagate 400 SATAII

DVD: Liteon LH-20A1S SATA

Try SATA Optical Drive on different SATA port ?

Yes, I tried few combinations. The ICH9R is most popular on Gigabyte mobos, which ports should I use for drives?

Noticed that after few minutes it shut drives down in AHCI (as opposed to IDE), may be it is relevant to power management (saving)?

Noticed that in IDE mode drives no hang up.

Try Jmicron SATA (Purple )

There's no JMicron SATA on GA-G33M-DS2R, only ATA (currently disabled cause haven't any ATA drives).

Use ATA Kext in the package. after installing set BIOS to IDE and than Optical drive should work. Many Optical Drives don't like AHCI SATA mode

Ok. tried IDE, works. No orange icons on internal drives only on external :)

It's very strange, same issue occurred with Pioneer DVR-216 DVD drive.

May be it's power management problem - in AHCI mode OS X shut drives down after few minutes then they stop respond.

How OS X on real Mac Pro can recognize if drives are internal or external?

In AHCI mode no orange icons on internal drives.

Only being real! It's obvious you've spent quite some time on this!

OK, static IP... good one!;-)

Ow,... the UUID error 35. No problem anymore. manually change the iobuiltin node to true in some plist. (find the sneosx solution), i did mine manually.

And there's a silverlight 2 beta (no systemcheck) floating around somewhere! Works like a charm!

And i overclocked my stuff...again! Disable USB legacy support, and fixing the PCI clock to 100, did the trick!

Or try This, It fixes problem in majority of cases

RealtekR1000.kext.zip

hi karaakeha, thanks for the brilliant guide.

one problem appeared: it doesn´t matter what tool I´m using - I can´t make a compressed backup of the booting soft raid0 / chameleon. tried CCC, superduper and disk utility.the resulting dmg shows always compression/decompression failures or couldn´t be mounted. did I overlook some fault?

I use only Sparse Image For CCC that worked for me.

I did step by step his own, to the Leopard Retail installed,

already swapped the KEXTS, installed the Chameleon, and copied

those files to my user folder, did the controls

to raid, nothing happens, do not raid works, as is

was before, what I'm missing?

or by running the EFI this raid!

look screenshot

configurationir7.th.pngthpix.gif

configurationir7.png

motra different here in this picture, the chemeleon installed, choose the driver, then

I did the scripts, most sincerely believe that not installed, look in this picture below:

chameleonjv8.png

command user:

fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0

fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk1

dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s3

dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk1s2

diskutil mount disk0s3

cp boot /volumes/boot\OSX

diskutil unmount disk0s3

diskutil mount disk1s2

cp boot /volumes/boot\OSX

diskutil unmount disk1s2

reboot

Descrition: Gigabyte X48t-qd6

Formatation: 2 hds in GUID PARTITION as compatible? our format in MBR?

chip hd controler: Jmicron 363 for 2 hds

Raid striped: not work :stretcher:

Looks like you could not follow the guide. I don't see any RAID volume in Disk Utility screen shot you posted.

Also Chameleon installer wont work with RAID. Need manual install

Read this topic thoroughly(all posts) before you try

AppleAHCIPort.Kext Build 60 (ver 1.5.1)

IOAHCIFamily.kext Build 58 (ver 1.0.4) shows SATA drive as internal

Working fine however I have KERNEL PAnic if I choose SATA/IDE on AHCI in bios

Have to stay on IDE or DISABLED to fix the problem

Really strange isn't it ?

My Bios:

RAID/SATA: AHCI

RAID0-3: NATIVE

SATA/IDE:DISABLEB

NOte:

OpenHaltrestart

Restart: WOrking better than the fix (latency better)

Shutdown: Not working on S1 (bios) Working on S3 (Bios)

Sleep: working AT 50%

HD off - Monitor off - Periph off

but unable to wake up !when I pressPower Button computer is restarting ...

For Sleep issue video Drivers may be the issue Try GFX string

wake up from sleep is by pressing power button

I used Nvinject for video driver But I'll try with OSXtools GFXString ... is it safe if I install GFXString driver on NVINJECT

I know for the powerbutton that is what I used but it makes the computer restarsting not waking up hehe...

And I don't know if it is a good sign of working video driver but QE/Ci are working ...

DO you think it's normal for the sata/ide to be set exclusively on IDE or DISABLE (bios) for my mobo iget the patched kext working ?

remove NVinject than apply String

Without patching only AHCI SATA works

For iDE you need patching that kexts already included in package

in fact Orange Icone fix is ok and correct SATA setting in "about" working

when I set in Bios like below

SATA RAID/AHCI: AHCI

SATA/IDE Control Mode: Disabled or IDE

However each time I use

SATA RAID/AHCI: AHCI

SATA/IDE CTRL MODE: AHCI

there is a kernel Panic with those 2 modified kext

and I'm not able to enter the OS even with -v -f -s ect...

Strange I disabled the second sata config in bios and everything is ok now ...

I always get a kernel panic when shutting down after sleeping the computer. Can someone help? I have tried karaakeha1's and ls8's BIOS settings, but no go :)

try Openhaltrestart.kext and put Bios on S3 and see if there is still kernel panic

If it still not working try to use PCWizz Gygabyte center and apply Restart and Shutdown fix

you will have to install CHUD.pkg first

Check for the latest BIOS of your Board.

Don't Use Openhalt Fix ( it works but not as reliable as was old fix)

Make your not installed any thing which is able to write on NTFS partition (Paragon or Mac Fuse they work but inhibit auto sleep)

Fresh install leopard update with combo update 10.5.5

than apply all the kexts

Reset BIOS ( or take out battery)

Check BIOS settings

karaakeha1 --- I tried to merge your tutorial with EFI boot, boot-132 ans it seems incompatible, can you confirm? I really want to boot in software raid with an unmodified installation. Thanks for your work.

NO I Have not tested and would not as my method works perfectly and Boot-132 is too slow for me to boot

I need your advice on this

Is it better to use your ACPI fix or PCwizz (GA CENTER) one ?
