Glad Cloning works for you , I do the same for restoration or Cloning :P

Yes timed Sleep is working , After I uninstalled software to read Write NTFS( i.e; Paragon Or MacFuse).

This issue even affects the MacBook Pro Or others apple Macs I read some where.

I updated about this on First Post ( Sep 18 Update)

I have checked my system just in case, but I have never knowingly installed such software (I do have VMware Fusion 2.0). When I look at your first post, I'm confused between "ABOUT restart and shut down ,OLD solution of AppleACPI.kext and shut down fix is better , Newer solution was causing random freezes" and "sep 22 Kext for restart Shutdown fix : Kext Attachd below OpenHaltRestart.kext attached below fixes Restart Shutdown. Now can use Vanilla ACPIplatform.kext . No need of CHUD.pkg etc".

Attached is a screen shot of the kexts I have installed, which are the same as your Kexts Postpatch 10.5.5 list except for HDAEnabler.kext and OpenHaltRestart.kext. Is there anything I should change?

Thank you for your help.

Everytime I ran the post patch it gave me "no such file or dirrectory" error, even though i changed the 'DESTINATION" to my target drive. Any ideas? Thanks.

EDIT: figured it out, but now im stuck at "Verifying Pool Data", yes I've installed chameleon. Any help? Thanks.

DIT: I tried installing EFI v8 and it says that my target partition was not GUID, but in disk utility it says GUID...any help -_-

Karaakeha1,

you made my day! After about a day with installing an experimenting on how to get a bootable Raid i am done!

Everything works perfect! Finding out that the handjob is the best way to bring RAID to life!

I used Chameleon INstaller Package at the start, finding out that the manual install will work cause the installer is not made for RAID System.

For now I workes with a CCC cloned copy from SATA to RAID. Perfect and easy. See my Signature!

Will try the Retail Install when I have more time after XMas.

Thank you for that great GUIDE! Its amazing how OS X Rocks now, quite as 2x faster than before with only one disk!

derpuma

Try more, its worth that time when you succeed!

Yoiu have to make sure to give exact pathnames into the terminal.

I tried yesterday for about 5-6 hours and was very happy at the end.

Edit the scripts and make copy and paste to terminal, step by step and you will have success.

For I partioned my 3HDD Raid, copied via CCC, Edit com.apple.boo.plist with the RAID BOOT-UUID, copied the Chameleon Files from Folder to my working Root Directory.

If you do have a chameleon on that Root disk, you don't have to copy the 60kb Boot File, it is there! Then I did the 3 Steps to Copy the Chameleon from Root to the Raid Disks like in the GUIDE said...

Repared Boot Caches. Restart and tatarataaaaaaaaa. It works!!!

OK, false alarm! A bit embarassing -- I found that instead of setting the inactivity time for Sleep to 30 mins, I had it at 300 mins!

It works well. So I can now say that every aspect of Mac OS X that matters to me is now working properly on my BlackMac. Many thanks to you, Karaakeha1 for a really excellent Guide.

Strangely, after installing RETAIL here in RAID, and to update to 10.5.5 everything was working normally, no more audio and video with no option 3D. well i went to step on KEXTS, plus any one that I install, gives problem, and that gives black screen error,

Someone could tell me what each color symbolizes the KExts? (yellow, blue, orange, purple ...)

I used the most kexts post_patch not satisfied, then I was trying to 1 per 1, it appears that all are incompatible, even very weird.

Colors are just for connivence in case you want to see which one are installed in to Extensions Folder.

To make Raid working best practice would be to install on single Drive and update to 10.5.5 install all kexts etc.

Once satisfied with that Just clone with Carbon Copy Cloner to RAID setup .Apply RAID UUID as per guide. in to RAID com.apple.boot.plist

Than Apply Chameleon manually to Raid volume.

If everything Done correctly Raid should work

If it fails most likely something done incorrectly , me & many others successfully installed it. Good luck

openhaltrestart.kext helped me loads! Thanks for updating that. My last issue is getting my Logitech keyboard working. When connected via USB, my wireless mouse works, but not any of the keyboard input. I've tried this with USB keyboard/mouse on and off and neither make a difference.

25 June :Latest Audio Apple HDA kext Show up in profile with HDAenabler.kext UPDATE 5 July.

Still the best is OLD APPLEHDA.kext with String , This new one produces lot of unwanted hisses when draging n droping

Hi,

Can you explain which file to modify with string (which file within the OLD AppleHDA.kext)?

And, is the string the one we can see in the "Audio Built-in" screenshot?

Many thanks.

This screenshot is when I used HDAenabler. Now I reverted to old AppleHDA.kext for better sound.

staff was needing a little help with the CHAIN0 here.

when I had the windows installed on 1 hd mac and in another it was only add an instruction in boot.ini Windows XP and copy the chain0 to the root of the HD windows and acknowledged that carries the macos perfectly in another hd.

Now Mac 's in raid-0 ie, the windows in raid-0 with 2 hds, and another 2 hds for Mac, appears in the boot, and such, did the same method of the chain, everything is normal, appears on the menu Plus when you enter the mac by the menu, gives message, Chain bootloader and do not leave there, then I understood that the chain going, whether or not it appeared, the more he 's not enchergando to the mac partition RAID, is it is 1 hd he has to try and do the Raid mounted.

How do you add an information file on the RAID chain0? if you have a RAID ID, the ID would be showing within the leopard or inside the windows?

please, just missing it here to stay 100%

How do i set efi studio to write to the new partition?

Don't remember seeing that option just have it copy the string to clipboard then open the com.apple.Boot.plist file on the new partition and paste the information in looking at how the <key>device-properties</key> <string>... sections are at the start and end of your existing file so you can put them in there as well.

as far as i know chain0 only work on mbr not quid partition so how did you format your raid drives

GUID in here all right, otherwise it makes no RAID, does not have another way to get the dual boot with a view? efiv8 or as the boot partition does not show the OSX boot partition is the partition that loads the partition mounted RAID

Hi Ive just upgraded from pc efiv8 to v9 and installed chameleon for the first time so I could hopefully boot into snow hasn't quite worked yet but I do recall some other post about creating a EFI volume in which to put your dsmos.kext and disabler.kext as well as other kext files you need for your hardware ( ALCinject AppleHDA ApplePS2Controller etc )so that any update that overwrites these file will no longer render your system to need patching again

Trouble is I cant find that page now I should of booked marked it I think you just need to make a new folder in /volumes as EFI but I am not sure and not sure what to do after that step

Could someone please redirect me there
