exscape
Haha, wtf. Try starting up a terminal, and do rm -i ~/.Trash/* (-i means ask yes/no for each file; just in case)

MoTo77
LOL... thats a Leopard problem, not an OSx86 problem. I have the same issue on my REAL MacBook Pro...
skyhighmac
Try this: 1. sudo -s (then enter password) 2. rm -f /Users/yourusername/.Trash/filenamehere That will force delete the files. P.S. Dont forget to put in the right username and filename.

MoTo77
I found that if you just drag those files out of the trash (to the desktop for example) they just disappear.

Schweppes
I have the same problem with files that i trashed from another disk/partition in FAT32 format. If you unmoun that partition, you can empty trash normally.
sg
also verify your disk and repair if it needs to. damaged files can cause issues like this at times.
Numberzz
I can't believe no one's suggested this, but:
sg
secure empty trash simply erases the file once and then overwrites the position it was at multiple times on the disk. if the OS isn't able to erase it originally it won't make a difference.
