Trolav
Hardware: Acer TM6292 (Intel ICH8M, Realtek ALC268) I edited info.plist for my device ID (8086:284b), and got some nice output: HDAudio[0x3b39a00]::CodecDetection-started(0x38e1f00) by Taruga HDAudio::D27:F0 Irq: 22 Vid: 8086 Pid: 284b HDAudio::Cad Address: 0 HDAudio::Vid/Pid : 0x10ec0268 0x00000000 0x00000000 HDAudio::Subsystem : 0x1025011b HDAudio::Revision : 0x00100003 HDAudio[0x3b39a00]::CodecDetection-ended(0x1) This seems to correspond to the codec dump from linux (attached). Noticed that the install AppleHDA.kext on my system actually got the Device ID for my card, but I still don´t have any sound. I also attached output from linux lspci (just in case it´s of any interest) HDA.txt ALC268_lspci.txt
Plast1k
Followed instructions, loaded kext, no details given, simply "kext loaded successfully" Test system specs are in sig, but the audio is: Codec: Analog Devices AD1988B Vendor: 0x11d4189b Subsystem: 0x104381f2 Tried doing a codec dump using an Ubuntu disc, with the command: cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 File attached: (hope it's of some use) P5N32_E_SLI_AD1988B.txt Also just tried dropping the codec dump onto AppleHDAPatcherv1.20, but that just tells me "This codec is not working at the moment, it needs more research"

Azurael
i have REALTEK ALC862 on LEOPARD and TOSHIBA A200-D14 notebook... i've red somewhere (what could be seen from codec dump) that it is actually ALC861-VD?? is there anything i can do to test it little more??? ALC862 is a new revision of ALC861-VD, AFAIK. There are differences, hence ALC862's new codec ID (ending in 862) - however, a lot of software, including ALSA, picks up the codec as an 861-VD. There's no such thing as an 862-VD according to Realtek, which is what some people have been referring to it as.

Xwing61
Hi guys, I need some testers for a component of my next patcher. (This test is very important for the release of the new patcher)What should you do: Download the attached kext, unzip it. Copy it to root ( / ) Set permissionschown -R root:wheel /HDAudio.kext chmod -R 755 /HDAudio.kext Boot with -s (no need to mount file system) kextload /HDAudio.kext It should read the codec info and report something like this: Dec 11 15:01:07 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio[0x9f24c00]::CodecDetection-started(0x4caa880) by Taruga Dec 11 15:01:07 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio::D27:F0 Irq: 19 Vid: 8086 Pid: 27d8 Dec 11 15:01:08 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio::Cad Address: 0 Dec 11 15:01:08 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio::Vid/Pid : 0x10ec0882 Dec 11 15:01:08 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio::Subsystem : 0x1043e601 Dec 11 15:01:08 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio::Revision : 0x00100101 Dec 11 15:01:08 taruga kernel[0]: HDAudio[0x9f24c00]::CodecDetection-ended(0x1) I need to check if it´s reading the info correctly on different chipsets and codecs If you have you ownr linux codec dump, report if there is any difference on: Address and Subsystem Thanx for your help Not Detected Codecs Seems that it´s not detecting codecs that show Address 2 in linux dump (and maybe Address 1 also) I need to find a way to detect them as the new patcher will use this detection method. If I cannot detect a codec, the new patcher will not work with them a most worse, I cannot program the codec initialization. I hope to find what´s wrong. I'm new, how do you set permissions? anti_user
I'm new, how do you set permissions? its simple - applications - disk utility - mark your mac os disk - click repair permissions if you want to know how to use CHMOD and CHOWN try to type in linux man chmod and man chown or try to get information from google;)
