Internal Audio Realtek - ALC268 drivers up-down works , no mute, tho possibility to turn over to USB headset or internal headphones - which work too now, HP webcam microphone taking signal too, not tested on skype yet.

Internal wifi Intel 439x - not working

i hope this gives a bit more dfetailed info for developers of great project.

To get batterymeter working:

So might say, ALMOST everything works , will dig for HP webcam drivers (macam drivers 0.9.1 did not worked).

Hi I have the same Acer Model, Just got it back from Acer, replaced the mother board. I would like to install Leopard on my machine. I have Tiger XxX 10.4.11 running now. Most everything works but built in wi-fi. I have the TIxx12 and a DWL-g630 Wi-Fi PICMIA card running on the Acer and a Gateway MX3230 both working well. Got a great deal on them on Amazon.com they show up as airport on the menu bar but not in the system profile. Sound input, output and built in mic work the new motherboard is ICH7. Q/E and core working but a little mouse tearing, but front row and DVD player working.

I would like to install Kalyway 10.5.1 unless there is a copy of 10.5.2 out. I need to know where you got your BIOS update, is it the vista update on the acer web site or did you find it some where else? thx for any help you can give me.

Hello :P I am quite new to the osx86 scene... I spent the last couple days working on getting it installed on my system.

I did run into a problem with partitioning my drive (external usb)... it turns out the install I made was corrupt. (I think) This was because I selected "Install Mac OS X 9 disk drivers" when partitioning. I'd like to advise nobody to do that, it will ruin your install and you will have to redo it.

Ok, now onto the goodies - Successful installation on an external usb drive!!!

IBM Thinkcentre A51, M/T 8424-7BG (P4 HT @ 3GHz, i915 chipset, Broadcom NIC, AC'97 soundchip).

Added 512MB RAM to a total of 768 MB (minus shared graphics mem).

I tried the Kalyway 10.5.1 image, and it worked almost like a charm when I found out how to make it use the older instruction set (yes, I'm a lazy bugger and sometimes I just don't take the time to read instructions).

The only problem I had was with the NIC. The Broadcom 5705 on the motherboard crashed the post-installation wizard, so I followed the advice to boot into single user mode and touch the file whose name eludes me, but that informs the OS that I've been through the wizard already.

To get the networking running, I first installed PCIUtils for OS X, to get the device ID via lspci. I then got hold of the hacked 10.4.6(?) version of AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext and modified it using HexFiend and the usual text editor, respectively, to create a devID match against my card, following advice found on this board. After a reboot, everything was up and running with no problems.

I also tried running an old ATI graphics card (7k-series), but it showed some unwanted behavior in the form of buggy scrolling (shadow images that didn't go away), and also it didn't turn of the screen when I tried to make my computer go to sleep.

My next project this afternoon will be to try and get my old Audiophile 2496 PCI soundcard working with the computer.

Note1: The external monitor port has pins 6/12 linked (10 ohm resistor - I'm an electronics eng. We dont like short circuits!)

Wifi:

Intel 2200 working with DHCP or manual IP

Note2: I used iwi2200.zip from iwiDarwin. I have to switch on the wireless with nsGUI or networkSelector before getting a network connection.

Note3: The only other problem is the (UK) keyboard has the @ and " keys and the hash/backslash keys transposed but I believe that is fixable.
