abnormalkit
New to this forum and this project. I followed hack attack's instructions of installing leopard with the exact same parts he used except w/ 2GB ram and a WD Caviar instead. I can't seem to get it to boot into leopard after installing the postpatch. After I run ./9a581PostPatch.sh in terminal and everything is patched (but i do get some errors..something about file not exist cannot patch). And let the computer restart, do the count down, the gray apple screen shows up. Then i get a black screen for a while and after maybe like 5 minutes, i get the apple warning of please restart your computer. This happend everytime and I even tried installing 3 times and on different hard drives. Anyone encountered this problem? I'm thinking is it something with the patch? Or my version of leopard? My is a fresh copy that i got the other day. Thanks. =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75303-cant-boot-after-install/ Share on other sites
Kaden
Not certain if this will help but make sure that if you are using a flash drive to hold your patch, that it is named properly. The post patch has a specific variable defined for the flash drive name. It is case sensitive. You can also just edit the script and change the variable to match your flash drive name. Good luck! abnormalkit
I made sure that whatever I named my flash drive it corresponds with the file. Below are images of what I get during the postpatch process, and after i'm done with the postpatch, when I try to start leopard, I get this restart screen after 5 minutes of darkness Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75303-cant-boot-after-install/#findComment-534630 Share on other sites

Axalon
Is your OS X volume named "Leopard"? I think the BrazilMac script assumes that. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75303-cant-boot-after-install/#findComment-535903 Share on other sites
abnormalkit
Yup, my volume is named Leopard. I've tried to re-install it many times and on different hard drives. abnormalkit
I finally got it to work! I installed Tiger first and have it fully functional. Then I boot from the patched leopard cd, install it. After the installation I did the brazilmac postpatch, and leopard started. I don't even need the CD to boot it!
