It worked fine in Tiger, but in Leopard it just sits there when I place a dump on top of it. No output at all - like it isn't running at all. Is this a permissions problem or something? I've tried loads of different HDA patchers and about 4 different dumps downloaded from here, plus of course my own one (attached). Any help would be most appreciated. Taruga: Try the attached installer (ALC883Installer) . Good luck Hi Taruga - Thanks for the installer. Worked perfectly. Have sound again - yay! Mic appears to be going too. Soh Raun
Computer Type: Laptop (ASUS F3JC) Sound Card Vendor: Realtek Sound Card Model: ALC861 (seen as ALC660 under Linux) Vendor Id: 0x10ec0861 Working: Line out (internal speakers + headphone), Mic (jack only), possibly SPDIF out Not Working: Mic (integrated), Headphone volume (low) Patcher Version used: none - ALC861.zip System Version: Leopard 10.5.1 Obs: First, THANKS A LOT !!! finally got sound working, and mute works too. I can't test SPDIF out. Integrated microphone doesn't work but nevermind, it's not very good anyway. Most "annoying" thing is the headphones: when plugging jack in/out, external speakers mute/unmute appropriately, but headphone volume is extremely LOW. Even when putting the volume to the maximum, sound can hardly be heard (but there IS sound). The only workaround I found to use headphones is to connect external speakers (that include an amplifier) to the laptop's Line Out, then connect headphones to these speakers. But it's only possible at home, obviously . In case it could help you solve this problem, I attached the Linux codec dump. Thanks again for your great work! ALC660.txt Edited December 24, 2007 by Taruga Thanx for the report. I though headphones was not working, but according to your report it´s just a low volume issue. I will take a look at it when possible.
