zimne
Hi all, I've succesfull installed Osx86 some days ago on my machine, and want to share with you my results. Hardware: Motherboard Asrock P4V88: - integrated audio: works great - integrated ethernet: doesn't work -> changed with a cheap Realtek PCI - Usb: works - Other features: don't know for now CPU Celeron D (skt 478) no SSE3: works good with maxxus patches Video: XFX Nvidia GeForce 440 -> Only 2d, better gui results with Maxxuss tuning patch Bluetoot Usb "Lindy" works great: iSynk is perfect with my Nokia 3650! Now, my xBench results: CPU: 58,48 Thread: 61,89 Memory: 39,68 Quartz: 28,04 OpenGL: 30,15 User Interface: 9,38 Disk Test: 50,30 Average: 27,58 The system is pretty stable and I'd like to have the graphics system to work. I'm not sure if buy a new motherboard ASROCK P4DUAL 915GL (58 Euro), or just an ATI Radeon 9550 video card. The first choice give me the Intel GMA 900 card that works out of the box, but don't know if the other integrated things will work; the second choice leave me with actual working system, but don't know if can make the video card work easy. Any suggestion? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7412-what-to-change/ Share on other sites
Markblu
I am about to test this motherboard out myself. 1gig ram The processor I am using is the P4 3.0E Ghz HT 1mb L2 cache SSE3 enabled This should work great The Video is a GeForceFX 5500 agp8x - again, compatible according to official list: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCLPart#NVIDIA Drivers @ macvidia Audio: Creative Soundblaster Live! 24-bit compatible: NO... darn Built in sound is not an option for me as i fried it so i am purchasing a C-Media CMI8738 4-channel pci sound card $8 on ebay and thats with shipping, and its compatible according to the official list As for networking... wires are not an option - i need wireless. i'm still in the process of searching to see if the Netgear Wg111 works on this version, anyone know? or any very cheap wireless g pci or usb adapters anyone can find? ignigolo
Sorry, but What install disc are you using? How did you get USB support?. In my Asrock P4V88 With the 10.4.6 install dvd in the boot step system gives me the message IOUSBFamily.kext found.... transaction Timing Out. I don't know what to make to heal this problem.
