ShadeZeRO
You apply the JCCool patch once you're in OSX (regular mode). how about trying to reinstall the OS, except when you get to the customize part, make sure you do NOT install ANY drivers. That way you have a fresh OS, and then run the "rm -rf /system/...." stuff Also, have you gone to the link in the first post? @mbums05 : Congrats! Sorry I couldn't be much help to you. sleepy_yellow
ya i followed the instructions of that link in the first post but in that guide it tells you how to partition your drive with the windows drive but i wanted to try it out on a seperate hard drive so i skipped a few parts and just started installing it. after installing it i got the same problem like most on this thread about the black screen with blinking cursor so i just started searching stuff on google and on this board, then i installed BSD 1.51 and just edited the partion into the boot.ini and then i was able to get to the os x ( the count down part) then i pressed enter and i would get the panic messeage like the guy i quoted in my first post. so then i PMed him to ask what he did to fix it so he gave me a ed2k link but since im behind a firewall that belongs to my company i work for im not allowed to open ports on it so i can really use ed2k expect for very slow i been having this computer on for 15 hours and it only downloaded 28mb out of 108MB so i dont know how long its gonna go on like that so i wanted to see if there are any other solutions. but i might just start out with tiger 10.4.8 from Jas because i never even tried the mac mod thing on a pc i just heard about it on the 23rd that i could do that so i just had to try it out, but now i almost regret trying it because it sounds pretty buggy but when i start something i gotta finish it. i apprechiate the help and if anybody can help me out that be cool. anyway xmas is finish so i might buy mself a present some SATA-2 HDDs to replace my 4 year old hard drives :)so i would try it again with those. mrburns05
anyone know why it freezes on the create an account screen and how to get around that? wats the diff if u boot with or w/o -legacy? Best way around it is to have a working install of tiger on another drive- then when you fire up leopard and get to that part, select transfer account from another partition on this mac. ther may be a fix now for that issue but i havnt seen it anywhere
raphael_X
I have No idea how that happened, but after I installed iLife and iWork '08, my system stopped freezing! How?... I don't know. False alarm I was so stoked, that I started few simultaneous downloads in "Sped Download", and System eventually crashed. The only thing I noticed is that, the longer system runs (i worked few hours in Garage Band before I started downloading), the less likely it's going to crash (but it eventually will )

Trax
Anybody had problems with AMD Athlon X2 4000+ or a Gigabyte motherboard? I'm kinda worried because this download is huge and my speeds are poor. Gonna suck up one week's worth of bandwith.

mac_cute
Hi everybody!: Season greetings... Thanks you for all your posts. I have Leopard, and after fix PS2 issue, there are still some problems. If you have any idea about how to solve this, will be very appreciated! . Some descriptions: Video card works fine, but only at 1024x768 @85Hz (with NVinject kext). Any idea how to add some others resolutions? Audio: work with ALC883 installer. In the output tab, appears internal speakers and headphones. Only headphones working. Can I get all the in and out jacks to work? USB works only with keyboard and mouse: flash drive do not appear Only one Lan port is recognized instead two. I use BootP and DHCP and has self assigned IP ,but the network assistent can not fix the connection. Any help and feedback about how to fix this?. Thanks to Zephyroth for making this! zephyroth
Ok ... Rev2 is in a good way to be released soon. I've added: - NVinject 0.2.0 for both Desktop and Laptop cards. - Latest AppleNForceATA by MeDevil is added too (some error messages but boot process is faster and my drive is working correctly) - ApplePS2Controller (tested and approved) - Quicktime 7.3.1 and Security Update now installs during Mac OS X installation process (cpuids are applied) To save some space I will not add iTunes 7.5 and RDC updates because they doesn't need any cpuids to be applied. I will package some drivers for ATI and try to solve a problem which isn't really one : In Rev2 at the end of the installation process it tells that the installation fails because the installer cannot make the partition bootable. In fact the partition is bootable and all goes fine, but ... I don't want that error message in Rev2 ! The error is that when the script execute "bless -device "$dev" -setBoot" it returns "could not find IODeviceTree:/options" (prolly because of EFI) but as the partition is made bootable via fdisk ... it's ok If someone has an idea to solve this little issue ... ЀṾ Ïñ Ðì§gû燎
awesome news zeph!! zeph r u using the AMD v2 Decrypts? n would i face an issue with the create an account screen hang again with this one? also will i be able to use my ps2 key, mouse right from start? would i need to install EFI with rev2 compulsory or can i still use my good old bios? wat are RDC updates? how big is rev2?
zephyroth
What do you mean by AMD v2 Decrypts ? I didn't experienced this issue with the "create an account" screen even with the first version of my DVD. You will be able to use your PS2 keyboard and mouse right from start (with the dvd) and you can choose to install it or not (in your case I bet that you will) The DVD itself is not EFI but the installation process installs it on your partition. You cannot choose to not install it. And EFI is not a new bios, it's just some stuff that make Mac OS X detects your PC as a Mac (almost ... at least on AMD). RDC update ---> Remote Desktop Client Rev.2 is DVD-SL Ah and sorry if since the beginning my English is not very good, as you know the first DVD contains only English and French ... DivisionBell
Hi there, im finally done reading those 49 pages, but still have not found a solution for the mach reboot problem. GingerTea
Hi, nice to see you here Zephyroth. Thanks for all of your effort and time, lovely Release! Just let us know if you are ready to release a LAN Freeze Fix for Rev.1, please. I am working myself on it every day. Up to now I have made it much more stable by using a different Kernel as well as different IONetworking, and Forcedeth Kexts. Even though it now seems to be possible to smoothly download 2 gigs sometimes with 2 cores, it will still freeze in a few situations. At the moment I'm only using one core, because that makes the stability amazingly solid. I wouldn't like to miss the other core, because it raises the System Speed by 35 Points (75 Xbench -> to 110.) zephyroth
For the moment, I will focus on Rev2. You know I'm alone and have only one machine to test ... so that's hard to release an ISO which is stable in all the situations. As soon as I release Rev2, I will try to fix some broken things (at least the most annoying).
