StealthMode
Hi all, I'm on a DFI SLI DR (NF4 SLI) AMD system. 10.5.1 works flawlessly, way better than the 10.4.8 and .9 that I had the chance to try. Issues I don't know if happen to you guys: - Opening the "about this mac" will cause the windowserver to crash and restart - Ever since I started testing OSX86, I never managed to get the computer to actually reboot. In Tiger it used to shut down properly, now I even lost this feature. In Tiger I always had to replug my USB devices or they would not be detected and this is totally unnecessary now. Anyone else with a NF4 board and problems with shutdowns/reboots (I won't even talk about sleep :-) ) Update: - iPhoto crashes due to video driver problems (8800 320MB) when magnifying a photo or starting a slideshow. This didn't happen in Tiger and system-level screensaver slideshows work without a hitch! -> Update #2: iPhoto issues fixed via Quicktime component (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=72693&hl post #4, marvin's utility can help too) Same here. I have the DFI Ultra-D myself.

Guest Snowski
Guys, some info on Marvin's Utility: - First select the first option (list....) and select your Leopard dir (in the following steps too) - Second select the Create Patcher Package - Lastly select patch cpuid's from file and point it to the .txt file created in the log dir. I'm currently away from my PC so I can't post the exact items you get in the utility. If I do not do it this way and just try to patch all binaries (last option in utility) then it doesn't find anything so doesn't work. I updated Quicktime yesterday and iPhoto crashed again on importing images so I ran the utility and all is fixed again Good luck lads
feldmaresciallo
I tried to burn this on a different media, this time i used a dvd+r. I set the dvd as primary master unit, and then start the boot process. It goes on until it shows some lines, stating that os version is unknown and then something about kernel version, toh etc. After that it stops. Should i use a dvd-r? I don't know, but maybe i should leave this experiment with my hardware specs: asrock 939SLI-eSATA2 athlon 64 3200 + venice geforce 7600 gt hd 1 - ata master second ide channel hd 2 - sata

Graebags
AMD only. How about Intels? Yeah, how about Intels? How about EYES? How about opening them and using them to look thru the list of threads? You might find most are for Intels! You might find iATKOS! UPHUCK! You might find a typo there? You might find their brand new dvd for intels just released! maybe?!
locus
Hi seph, thanks for your great work so far..good to see someone working on a decent amd dvd. do you think it will be possible to add support for the following chipset?: - VIA Southbridge VT8237 (ASUS A8V Deluxe) that'd be great, because I can't see any sata drives using your current installation dvd on my motherboard. cheers. barrychuck
I think the most important think is fix the problem about the network. I have disable the dhcp on macosx but i still get freeze, i had to disable also on my router ? Do u known if that problem is only with the ethernet card on nforce4 ? Regards You are having the same problem as Windows Vista users, NEW OS's are being made IPv6 compliant, but most home networking devices are not. Your router is faking IPv6 so that the computer tries to use IPv6 but the router cannot convert IPv6 to IPv4 so you go nowhere on your network. Disable the IPv6 in the OS, so that is uses IPv4 and everything is fine. This is the same fix for Vista if you have a dual boot. Your Router is the problem and this is a work around. I burned it and verified it, great. Put it into my AMD system and it panics after loading the Extensions. Anything you know about?

dragossh
ALSO CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME, AFTER WAITING FOR IT TO INSTALL, AT THE LAST MINUTE, IT FREEZES AN SHOWS ERRORS AND STUFF. MANY OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, CAN ANYONE HELP ME? Something like this happened to me, but without errors. The installer simply froze when there was one minute left. I just rebooted, and started Leopard. Regarding the PS/2 issue, download the kext from here. Put it on a partition or USB drive and then boot from the DVD. After Installer loads, click Utilities->Terminal and do a cd to the folder containing the kext. Then execute (replace Leopard with your Leopard partition name): cp -r ApplePS2Controller.kext /Volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Extensions cd /Volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Extensions chown -R root:wheel ApplePS2Controller.kext chmod -R 755 ApplePS2Controller.kext reboot Boot the installed Leopard. Worked for me
SnoozerD
Hi, I followed the guide and basically had no issues. I get to Leopard is going to create my account. It takes my name and such, and then goes to the spinny rainbow. Never passes this, (I went to work, and left it for 9 hours.) Any ideas where I am going wrong? Thanks for the great guide by the way. stack1
Using the tutorial on the first page I've been able to get passed step 5: 5. In the command window, type: >> List disk >> Select disk [disk #] >> List partition >> create partition primary id=af >> active However, when I try to format the free space as HFS Journaled in disk utility, it fails and times out after a half hour. I've tried now 4 times repeating the steps over and over but get no luck. I even tried making free space at the beginning of my HD (moving XP back) but the results are the same and XP is damaged. Is there a step I'm missing? ------------------------------------ AMD 4200 MSI K9N SLI Platinum nVidia 7800 GT
