egrims
Alright guys, I'm new, but I did read the entire thread and I didn't see the problem that I'm having listed anywhere, at least not exactly. If someone could provide a little insight it would be greatly appreciated. I get through all the kext stuff and I start on the actual hardware loading after I do either -legacy, -f, -v, -x or all of the above and I get this: BSD root: disk1s3, major 14, minor 4 Jettisoning kernel linker. unknown SIGSEGV code 0 I can't seem to find anything that helps me with that stupid SIGSEGV error, anyone have any insight? My system specs are as follows: AMD Sempron 3000+ (has SSE2/SSE3) 2 gb ddr ram 80 gb SATA drive MSI Nvidia NX 6600 Thanks guys.

ongabonga
Hello Again Buddies, does anybody have any sugestion about how to fix my problem?just repeating what i said a few posts ago, when trying to install this DVD from Zephyroth it won't start the interface for me to start installing, neither it will start with the optional flags (-s -f...etc and etc), all i get is the following message: panic(cpu 0 caller 0x004304FF): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\ ".\n"@/Volumes/disk1s2/leo_xnu/xnu-1228/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1376" And after all those memory adresses there comes: "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Unknown:" "Mac OS version: Not Yet set" That's really Annoying My Specs are: Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2GB RAM Geforce go 7800GTX 256MB 2 SATA Hard Drives(80Gb and 160Gb) It's the Clevo D900k Laptop AKA Sager NP9750, The Bus Type is VIA V-Link The Bus Properties is AMD HAMMER The northbridge is VIA K8T890(AMD HAMMER IMC) and the southbridge is VIA VT8237 Here's some data about the ACPI OEM ACPI -> CLEVO OEM TABEL ID -> PTLTW CREATOR ID -> PTL_ Thank you all in Advance
sergiales
Come on guys... for SATA related problems search in the forums. nForce4 chipset works with medievil driver, but READ ONLY capability.
Haiku-Fan
What Device ID and Vendor ID are you using? if they are correct try to patch the NVDANV40Hal.kext with you ID, remove all the others. Then delete all other VNDANV (10,20,30,50). clear the cache and reboot use -f on boot to make sure the kext are reloaded Thanks a lot for this replay. My devise ID is 0x0390 and my Vendor ID 0x10de: Typ: Monitor Bus: PCIe PCIe-Lane-Breite: x16 VRAM (gesamt): 256 MB Hersteller: NVIDIA (0x10de) Geräte-ID: 0x0390 Versions-ID: 0x00a1 Information zur Kernel-Erweiterung: Keine Kext geladen Therefore I wrote "<string>0x039010de&</string>" in the NVDANV40Hal.kext. All other files for gfx cards from Nvidia are deleted (what is with the NVDAResman.kext and the GeForce.kext?). After a reboot my prefered resolution and Quartz Extreme are still not working. zephyroth
Sergiales I'm using MeDevil driver with NForce4 chipset and it's not read-only ... My Maxtor 250Go works fine with it. Haiku-Fan Remove "&" ... and you have just to edit GeForce.kext, the others don't need to be patched .
sergiales
zephyroth, I swallow my words... but I had read that it is read-only with NF4. Indeed, I have a Seagate SATA and I cannot erase (format) and use it to install OSX. Do you use any special version? Did you edit the kext?. Thanks. m1001101
Very strange situation!!! I've installed this dvd without problems, when boot, kernel panic... try with cpus=1 at boot, but same problem.... tried with -x at boot, work, but only with usb keyboard and mouse (ps2 key and mouse don't work), and loop the registration sequence: nationality --> keyboard map --> nationality --> keyboard map --> for ever. My hardware: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA K8NF9 CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Video: Geforce 7600 GS Can you help me? P.S. The previous 10.4.8 work perfect on this machine. Haiku-Fan
Should I let the others GeForce files in their original condition? I have now done so and the driver still doesn't work: System extesion cannot be used The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.

zephyroth
Haiku-Fan You got this message because permissions on GeForce.kext are wrong. Just do the following: chown -Rf root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext chmod -Rf 755 /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext
Haiku-Fan
Hm, it still not works... Here is a ls -n of /System/Library/Extensions. Perhaps missing a file?
zephyroth
Haiku-Fan NVinject or Natit is missing ... Go to macdotnub.info and get the latest drivers for your card. Drivers from this site will be in the next release.

Ikshaar
Just to say thanks and report what works and not on my hardware. After failing with 10.4.9, 10.4.10, I finally got 10.5.1 to work with that iso. Hardware: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe - chipset nvidia 570MCP - AMD64 Athlon X2 5200+ - eVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640Mb 2Gb DDR2-RAM OCZ. Keyboard and mouse (both wireless) on USB ports. USB external drive WC Essential 500Gb. MadDog DVD-writer ATA. USB external drive was pre-partitionned with 2 primary partitions half and half (one FAT32 set active under windows XP) Straight install with selection of correct video card option. So I had to install on USB external drive as the nForce5 sata does not work well (actually can see drives but very slow and often hangs). It seems to depend which SATA port they are connected to, but did not try move them around. USB drive is ok for the testing I wanted to do now. Onboard network does not work (listed as not connected) - but I added an old DLink DFE-530TX+ PCI card which worked right away (had to set-up IP and DNS manually) No sound yet (neither creative audigy2 or onboard soundmax work). I am thinking on getting a USB sound card... Just played WoW on my new Hackintosh this morning and was able to record movie very nicely Firefox works great. Java applets not so much yet. Quicktime crashes a lot but as I don't have sound I am not worried yet. So thanks again for the team who made that DVD.
psylone
Hello all First, thanks to this community and zephy i'm running very well a osx86 install of tiger 10.4.9 with everything working (AGP, qe,CI,sound, lan) on my old A64 (nforce 3 chipset / 6800) it was not easy but finally it works rockstable and great. I'm pretty happy to discover the mac universe (which is not yet perfect when i see the finder ) but after +10 years of tweaking pcs it is literraly speaking another way of thinking. so everything is well but leo has also some interested new features... So i will wait the V2 release and i will make an attempt to install leo on my systeme. But i have some questions : 1) i know it is possible to have both tiger and leo on same hdd, but how to resume the way (i found info of dual boot with windows , is it the same ?) 2)Is it possible to use tiger to tweak the leo install (move /install kext) (2 differrent mac partitions on the same hdd) 3)then how to switch at the boot ? a command line such as mount d1s2 ? and the question for fun 4) Is there a way to install it from tiger without dvd drive by creating a third partition ? (because my dvd drive just crashed) but i will certainly rapidly buy a new one so .. thanks
