Try booting with cpus=1 for a temporary fix, you will have to type this in everytime you boot, or you can add it to /library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist under Kernel Flags.

Tried this option 2 times.... cpus=1... same error... Less than a minute freeze... :P Right now i'm downloading Toh RC2 and i'm going to try to patch it with AMD decrypts and try to install from that disc.. maybe in two days i will make that disk...wish me luck..

If you know other options i could try... don't be shy... :hysterical:

During install, the ApplePS2Controller kext is used, but it is not copied. So you have to copy manually, and give it rights (chown/chmod).

Is there a way to add the kext into the Extensions folder and fix the permissions using the Terminal from the DVD then I don't need an USB keyboard right now?

Thanks.

Been up and running with this release for a few days now and am having a troublesome but not crippling audio problem. I'm using the onboard Realtek ALC 850 on my mobo, but for some reason it is sporadically going out. there is no sign of problem, but the audio just stops outputting every now and then for anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes in any program that has sound.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks!

EDIT: Okay, i feel stupid. the only real problem was that in the audio midi setup utility my output was set to 6 channel/16-bit output when i only have a 2.1 setup so the channels seemed to be getting randomly mixed up whenever i started a new program. setting it to 2 channel/16-bit output it has worked perfectly. oops!

Yes: after the DVD boots and before the final installation selection, click Utilities -> Terminal.

Or, if you can boot at all, you can escape the normal boot sequence, boot with the -s boot option, and follow the on-screen instructions for fsck and mount commands.

Has anyone been able to get Conextant HD Audio (VEN_10DE DEV_026C &VEN_14F1 DEV_5045) working w/o skipping?

And im pretty sure my Broadcom 4311 wireless (VEN_14E4 DEV_4311) should work but for some reason it doesn't. i have the same problem w/it (no airport card installed) in 10.4.10 but not with 10.4.9 (uphuck 1.4a) is there an updated for leo kext in the I0822family.kext. i checked the appleairportBCM or whatever plist and my ven & dev id's are there?

Thoughouly confused?

P.S. macvidia 1.8 works to get 1440x990 on geforce go 6150. Core image supported but no quartz extreme.

also...has anyone gotten a working ps2.kext? i've installed a few different times, worked onece but never again?

Hi Guys!

Got this ISO by Zeph(GREAT JOB! THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK.) working perfectly after some tweaking with blessing the drive and making it bootable. So far after 10 hours+ of stressing the system i haven't been able to get it to crash...just two things that are irking me:

1. I could only get the sound on my motherboard to work using the AppleAzalia drivers, output works fine, just no input, which i would really REALLY like.

2. Onboard ethernet is not working with forcedeth...even with cpus=1 in the bootloader configuration.

Has anyone else who has these problems been able to solve them? right now i'm posting this using my bluetooth dongle connected to my PDA Phone over EVDO connection...fast but not as fast as my cable modem.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

GTX

Current Workstation System Specs:

Is it network related? It was for me, everytime I used a connection via iTunes or Frontrow I had a freeze. I 'probably' fixed it by configuring my proxy server caused I havent had a crash yet so I suggest you do that net config thingy mentioned in the first post (it seems to use 2 DNS servers or something)Good luck!

I hope it's not like with my Tubgirl 10.4.10 install cause that will once and a while set my speakers back to 6 channels. Sometimes when I install and run a new app or sometimes when iTunes is used. My audio was totaly messed up when I used 4GB a few weeks ago for testing. Thank god the boost was minimal since I had to set the RAM @1T and underclock. So I suggest 2GB for OSX86 and AMD system.Laters

Yes, i am going to use that guide. The image i'm downloading is ToH_x86_9A581_RC2.iso

Snowski, yes when i boot the instalation dvd it give's me an error like this but the setup continues..

I tried to disconect the cable from the router but the same error occurs. post-87725-1196758908_thumb.jpg

maybe its that network error you are talking about... How do i fix it if it never installs the os? it freezes at less than a minute.

I have a D-link EBR-2310 router...my ISP gives me the interent through dhcp. My computer gets the internet through the router by dhcp. I don't have 2 DNS adresses. The ISP provided me with only one DNS adress... (i know it's stupid...)

Man i feel sorry for you... I know exactly how you feel... i lost data too... :) First my 40gb hdd crashed,i fixed it but then it crashed again, and again... 4 times (hdd always full) i lost data on that hard disk, then i've got a 80 gb harddisk, but when messed with linux, osx, i accidentally formated the hard drive, and another time when i got my new computer, tried to backup my stuff from the 80 gb hdd to a 250 gb sata harddrive (currently the one i have) the IDE cable slipped from the hdd slot... and it disconnected during the data transfer.. The data was not readable on the disk so I called some guy, and give him 20 bucks, and hi recovered my data (99% of it)... He worked in data recovery branch.. :D

But now i have a tine impulse to laugh...

If you want your stuff back... well there are 2 options:

1. Search google/torrents for programs to recover your data. It is useful to have another computer to perform the data recovery to.

2. Get the data all over again where you originally got it from (friends/torrents)

I suggest you try the second option.. It is less painful than the first one.

GOOD LUCK! you will need it...

LOL this topic is hilarious half of you think you can download ,burn and install the os with out issue IT DONT WORK LIKE THAT every one's pc specs are different if you think you can just download burn install don't download OS X , why not download Windows XP or a linux distro "the latter will teach you UNIX command line and will in the end benefit you in getting OSX to work" you need to know at leased a little bash for installing OS X on a none native platform.

if people with Intel CPU's are having issues then there will be a lot more problems on AMD CPU's most of the people that have got leo working

on AMD systems have done a lot of research before installing or atempting to install leo.

the only thing i can say is DO YOUR RESEARCH look for topics with your hardware and see how thay fixes issues dont just stick the DVD in you drive and expect it to work out of the box look at Tiger version 10.4.10 and stilll issues this is a new release it will take time to work out the kinks.

and look thru this topic for post of issues the same as yours dont just try and install the OS and come on here and say it dont work i got Blah Blah heres a screen shot that people cant even make out. most kernel panic will tell you the cause you just need to look. " or have a pen and papper ready.

remember this forum has 1000's of posts that can help if you look i spent 3 days reading before i attempted an install and it worked for me first go i did my research.

hope this can help 1 person to get a nice install with this DVD or your own patched DVD.

After adding a kext driver to the system and adding it to wheel etc etc, and giving it a reboot the driver doesn't seem to work. How can i de-install / remove the driver so i can test a different one?

you need to remove the caches

rm -rf /system/library/extensions/caches

rm -rf /system/library/extensions.mkext

then reboot

I am downloading Mac_OS_X_10_5_Leopard_ToH_-RC2_SSE3_SSE2_Intel_Only because i can't find Mac os x 10.5 Leopard ToH

so, my question is, if i have this one with intel only, can i patch it with amdppf and will be able to use it on my AMD system?

i'm going to look more on different methods of installing it on amd..

If i get it working with EFI i will be able to download updates?
