it's in the usr/misc/ folder in the Install DVD...So boot from your install DVD & Load up the terminal...

 

That's what I don't get, if I type "cd /usr" and then type "ls" in the terminal using the install dvd boot up it gives me bin, libexec, share, lib, sbin and standalone. Absolutely no "misc" folder, which means obviously the rest of the command isn't going to work. The install cd checked out fine for consistency before it installed, and it's not like there are so many AMD leopard DVD's that one gets confused. It is reading the DVD fine, and I can LS to the volumes/leopard partition, so I'm not getting mixed up between teh two.

I have dowloaded XCode 3.0 and XCode 2.5 + 4 Linux Distributions ---> no freeze

 

15 simultaneous downloads (approximately 15MB each one) ---> no freeze

 

:(

 

I hope that it will continue that way ...

 

Zephyroth, what forcedeath kext did you use for it? i haven't listed all the post so don't blame me for it ;). let me know

I can't even get to the Verify DVD Screen :-S It shows the file copy progress bar, and then tells me to "Clean My Disc Carefully" and restart.. This is the output I get.

CPU: Amd Athlon 64, Venice 4000+

RAM: 1GB PQI/pc3200

HD: 160 GB Western Digital IDEata

CD: NEC DVD/RW + DL

Mobo: Jetway 939GT- Sli Extreme - NForce 4 Chipset

 

 

Can someone help me out ?

 

P.S swapped the DVD drive just to see if that was the problem. (No Luck =[ )

I'm Having some trouble with Adobe Photoshop CS3.. Its crashing on launch.

 

I also had this problem on Jas 10.4.8 Dvd. Back then i read online that i had to delete my applesmbios kext, & it worked for me then. But this is Leopard & what should i do now??

Didn't the new SMBIOS.kext fix this problem m8?

 

I haven't tried CS3 yet so can't tell for sure.

yo zephyroth, would you be able to help me?

i cant load leopard at all, installed it but comp wont boot from hdd at all, dont know if thats a kernal panic or what, really quite new and oblivious to this stuff ;)

my specs are:

 

AMD 64 Athlon 5600+

Asus M2N32-SLI Delux Mobo

Cosiar Ram, 2GB

Asus 8800GTX 768mb Ram

Asus DRW-1608 DVD Double Layer DVD Writer (i also have an asus SATAII lightscribe DVD Writer installed, although the IDE Drive seems to work better, have disconnected the SATAII drive)

1x 74GB WD Raptor (SATAII)

1x 300GB WD Cavliar (SATAII)

1x Seagate 160GB HDD (IDE) <== HDD I am installing Leopard on

I dunno where to get the applesmbios for leopard.. It fixed the problem back when i was using Tiger.

I did manage to get a fix at the bay for leopard. Photoshop & Arcobat Writer work fine now but Dreamweaver starting up takes too much time..

 

I would prefer the kext method over the patching one but i dunno where to get the kext for leopard & if any other problems will arise because of it...

Help. I finally got it to boot into the installer however I get the following error when installing. This is from the installer log....Folder manager is being asked to create a folder (asav) while running as uid 0. I have hit a wall, can anybody help. I also see during the initial boot that the root device is read only. I think I remember seeing something in here about that but I can't remember what page is was on. I did read every page, getting older sucks sometime.

Hello there, i am trying to install this but i have some problems.

I burned the image to a dvd-rw ( maybe this can be a issue? ) , i then rebooted with the dvd mounted in the drive.

It is a slave dvd unit on the primary ide channel.

It starts the process but after two or three seconds i get a ebios - media error, than it keeps on saying something about sectors etc.. then it goes on with some other lines, and then again media error etc..

Any ideas on this?

Help appreciated.

It installed fine and I also managed to install darwin to make it bootable.

 

However, I have a problem with USB.

 

When I have the Apple Keyboard attached, it will give me an error about: com.apple.driver.AppleHIDkeyboard has no explicit kernel depency; using version 6.0

 

When I unplug it and try to boot, what I get is this error:

 

USBF: .... Start OHCI Controller will be unloaded across sleep

 

So it seems to be a problem with USB, PLEASE HELP ME!

 

Zephyroth, is there no fix for this error?

 

I mean we've even got the same CPU: AMD X2 4200+

My Board is a DFI Lanparty with nForce 4 chipset.

 

Please help me : )

OK, so I just did a fresh new install on an IDE drive, and the only error that I get when booting now (I had to fix the boot error with zephyroths guide in this thread) is a kernel panic, which is just displaying the current kernel version at the end, like this, no matter which boot commands I choose.:

 

Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies):

 

.com.apple.GeForce(5.1.69)...

 

.com.apple.NVDAResman(5.1.6)...

 

Darwin Kernel Version 9.1.0: Fri Nov...

 

If I choose -x then it's going to boot until it stops on a black screen with a white ' _ ' at the up left.

Everytime i Try and download this torrent froma certain Bay.....the torrent shows as "DOCUMENTS", IN Utorrent!

also its in several RAR file too... i think their RAR anyway...could be ZIP...

 

any advice??

Download winrar, browse to the place where the downloaded torrent placed all of those .rar files and click on any of them. It will extract to a single iso, they're not unlike .zip files.

Hi all.

 

I have a very annoying issue. After install I boot into single user mode and remove GEforce kexts.

I then boot into leopard and apply patch 10.5.1 after that I reboot and have my 7600GT working like a charm.

 

I then shutdown the computer. When I try to start it next time it boots fine but the it suddenly stops sending info to the monitor (I guess when loading geforce kexts).

 

Anyone who have solved a similar problem or where can I find relevant information to see what actually went wrong?

Hey Zephyroth, I'm really getting sick of all the errors, as I'm trying to finally make it working all nice, and I never actually managed to boot into the beloved Leopard :D

I have a DFI LANPARTY nForce 4 Board, AMD X2 4200+ CPU, and GeForce 7600 GT

This is obviously the problem, I tried everything I could think of.

 

Different kind of boot methods won't work.

 

I tried legacy mode (which is keyboard/mouse support in bios at my board to disable), which didn't make any differences, and I tried to switch to USB 1.1.

 

Have you got any Idea how I can finally use it?
