Will atempd to boot my leopard DVD again today with different bios settings... I'm pretty sure my restart problem is related to some seting in the bios, maybe Cool n' Quiet? ...

I tried rebooting mine with CoolnQuiet turned on in bios, but it didn't seem to have and impact on Leopard booting. Enabling Dynamic Overclocking kills all, including Vista and XP, ever since I put the 8800GTS into it.

Leopard shows the message "Keyboard not connected" at the login screen on the 1st boot after installation. I am using p/s2 keyboard. I didn't have this problem with TIGER or even the TOH Leopard disk.. What can i do? Please Help.

Try a USB keyboard or a PS2 to USB adapter...

I got this DVD, but it seems that it doesn't like my PC.

When I boot from it (no cmd-line switches etc) and let it start the setup, it reboots my PC after doing some stuff.

 

Is there any part of my PC incompatible?

I want to post the last few messages before it reboots, is there any way to save a logfile to a usb-stick or anything like that?

I got this installed on my machine, but I'm getting a kernel panic at boot citing the nvda and geforce extensions as the culprits. By sleuthing around, I've deduced deleting these may solve the problem, but I'm new to this whole thing and can't figure out how.

Ok i just finished downloading the iso fiel and i have burnt it. I tired booting it through VMWare and it would jsut start loading the dvd and in the end will give me an error saying that could not create the error log file during the sessions (somehting like that) and stop there after several such messages

 

I have tried booting the dvd normally, the usual way of restarting and booting it...there it goes to the leopard installation menu after the same messages as seen in VMWare, and then i chose english and select next, then after 2 misn it tells me to select the partation where i have to install.

 

Heres the thing,

 

I have a dell inspirorn 1501, amd, turion 2 x 64

1gn ram

120gb hardisk and ati radeon xpress graphics...

 

 

I have already made a 10gb fat 32 partation, I have a windows partaiong of 53 gb and i have already install uphuck 10.4.10 tiger on my other partation of 50 gb.

 

I have an external hard disk of 300gb attached to it.

 

Now when i go to the disk utility option i can oly see my external hardisk and my dvd rom. no windows or any other partations... why is it so??

 

is it due to tiger previously installed? or any way to enter VMware, as i know how to go about with VMWare as i have installed tiger before.

 

Please do advice... i am attaching my cpu info pic

2) 6600 QE/CI - kexts from 6600LE topic

3) Slow ata disk and 128GB limit - AppleVIAATA.kext from 10.4.8

4) no ps/2 keabord - ApplePS2Controller.kext

 

Need to do:

1) TEST SOFTWARE

2) repair permissions errors - can't repair with diskutil.....maybe I don't NEED

3) TV-OUT on GF6600 - another story...

could someone PLEASE help me really quick!? when i boot the dvd i press a key to install, it reads loading HFS+ mach_kernel then goes back to 'press any key to install' over and over!!! does anyone have any ideas i've been trying everything for days. even advanced switches do nothing.

Hello!!!Can somebody help me???i can't repair permissions (attached as rtf)diskutil says it's done but when I run it again there are still the same errors.....i think that's why some applications crashes.... (mail, address book, adiumx - can't create some files)....the same problem somewhere on yours machines????thank you

I use via vt890 I see all hdd (ata 250GB and ata 10GB).....do you use sata drives???I had to copy AppleVIAATA to extensions to see 250GB (128 before).......

For the life of me I cannot get this to boot after install. I partitioned via Disk Utility and had the MBR option checked. I installed to disk0s1 and after finishing the install I just get the blinking white cursor that the BIOS does where there is no OS. I boot back into the installer dvd and do this:

Reboot to install DVD, open terminal, follow these steps to make drive bootable

 

fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX --->(X is the number of your HD, if you have only on its 0)

update

f X --->(X is the number of the partition where you installed Leopard)

w

q

reboot

To no avail. It still does not boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for increasing the number of clueless posters, but I really don't get it and search has gotten me nowhere.

 

I keep reading boot into install and hit terminal and type "/usr/misc/script.sh partitionname" but that comes up with no such file or directory. I know how to move around a command line and sure enough, there is a usr folder but no misc after that.

 

I tried to get creative and boot into that -s option, but that doesn't have the path that is referenced as well. What in the world am I doing wrong? I honestly don't understand the DVD, if I don't push any buttons it tries to boot and if I do then it tries to install?

Did you perform the Boot1h steps?

it's in the usr/misc/ folder in the Install DVD...So boot from your install DVD & Load up the terminal...

just copied ApplePS2Controller from 10.4.10 Tiger to extensions

 

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ *

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Exttensions/ *

 

-x (save mode)

 

and it works

Please test software like iphoto and imovie and cs3 photoshop. You could create a new post to check all software and compatibility! Best regards

What I've tested so far:

Photoshop CS3 -> It crashes. You need a specific AppleSMBios.kext extension. After that, it works like a charm.

Microsoft Office 2004 -> works ok.

iTunes -> works ok.

QuickTime/Perian -> works ok, but I get randomly crashes playing MP4 files. Also crashes loading simple MPG files.

iCal -> you need to run with Rosetta (a bit slow).

VLC -> works ok.

SDLMame/MameTunes -> works ok

Azureus -> works ok.

aMule -> works ok.

Firefox -> works ok.

SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY

 

I woluld like to add a few to the above list..

1) Opera, VLC, Appdelete, Toast Titanium works fine

2) iMovie 08 dosen't start & gives error.

3) iDVD 08 starts but when themes are selected the screen remains blank & video dosen't show up, can hear the sounds though.

4) iWeb, iPhoto, iTunes work fine.

5) iWork'08 all Works fine.

 

My system specs are on my signature.

 

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A 64-bit KERNEL FOR THIS RELEASE??
