FUKKU Posted November 15, 2007 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Call me old-fashioned, but I quite like FileMaker Pro... This is similar, just more geared towards home/home office use. FMP is meant for real business work. Most people don't need or want a "real" database to manage information like fantasy football leagues or wedding invitations, but at the same time stuff like that can be a pain to manage in excel or numbers. I'm going to take a good look at this next week, it looks like the "missing piece" of iWork. even with its $49 price tag, this and iWork combined ($130) are less than half the price of MS Office ($299 for the standard edition) and now you actually get a database app unlike Office for Mac. I actually had to look a second time to realize that it wasn't an addition to iWork. I think for people who have medium to little knowledge of databases, it's a great program. And yeah...A database WAS the "Missing piece" of iWork. I was pretty bummed when we moved onto Access in my CIS class from Excel, and had to boot up Windows to do my homework.
