righteye
hi righteye:I have a external monitor, a benq 24 inch LCD Diaplay, but i can't get it work, Is there a way to have both internal, external diaplay to work, thanks in advance. yes ... you have to be sure that the Natit or ATIinject (depends what you are using) is working and has strings for the second monitor. i think for that monitor you do not need the EDID because in a real Macintosh it will be recognized. hope tis info it helps. The Vietnamese love Mac
Hi righteye, My laptop is Asus V1jp with, of course, the ATi Mobility Radeon x1700. It has been working well since I followed your method. Before each upgrade, I back up only three files: ATIinject.kext, ATINDRV.kext, ATIRadeonX1000.kext, and copy them back to their original folder (using Kext Helper) after upgrading. This trick brings me back the correct resolution (1650x1050) after I upgrade from iAKTOS 10.5.1 to Leo4All 10.5.1 and then Leo4All 10.5.2. I apply the same trick after I clean-install iDeneb 10.5.5, but then the problem happens here: I only have the right resolution when the system boot into Safe Mode (-x). With normal boot mode and boot options with -s, -f..., Leopard gets stuck at login screen and produces a complele damaged set of colours. Half of the screen is black while the other is filled with striped, zebra lines with just primitive colours. I wonder if you could have a solution to this headache. TA very much in advance. mikkoeinari
Succes with A8Jp !!! I took one of the ATIinjects that worked without backlight and added the "@0,backlight-PWM-freq" with value 210000 and voila! 1440x900x32 works! I also removed the resolution line from Boot.plist prior to this. I used the kext Righteye had prepared for Diablo1 since we had the same edid. So Diablo1 should try this also... Oh! The Vietnamese love Mac
Righteye, you surely have right eyes . Your files do make my system work. Now I can boot nornally and get the right resolution of 1650x1050. Thank you very much. However, let me explain my doing: 1. I copy, chown, chmod your files and repair permissions (all done from terminal root) After rebooting, the system can boot nornally but the resolution is still not right. I restart the laptop but get the same things next boot. 2. I then add ATIInject.kext (the one for my Asus V1JP - you made it long ago) to Extensions. After restarting, the screen goes black, and I have to power off. But I does work from the next boot giving me the right resolution.

Xess666
@Mikkoeinari after you success LCD backlight. when you shutdown/restart is normal, isn't? i must push power button hold about 3second when shutdown system. Now i try to random "@0,backlight-PWM-freq". 180000 is better than 210000 in my opinion.

I'll fiddle around with kexts more when i have the time. @righteye: I have 10.5.5 and 71d5, no luck. I had CI/QE earlier on 10.5.2 but somehow i can't get it to work now. Dazza
here you go. use atiinject or natit ... not both ... chown and chmod and repair permissions I tried this file out for my A8JP, I changed the edid through plist editor pro. It works, hardware, res etc but the backlight doesnt work so it is dark. I tried both Natit and ATIinject both had the same problem. Any ideas of what I could change? I removed the Natit file and the backlight works, it is still hardware supported but has random artifacts from the mouse and the resolution isn't 1440x900. I realise these are problems that have happened to other people but I can't seem to find a solution. A8JP x1700 256MB 1440x900 iDeneb 10.5.5 00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 0DAF1614 00000000 310F0103 801E1378 0AC00598 57528927 20505400 00000101 01010101 01010101 01010101 0101AB22 A0A05084 1A303020 36002FBE 10000018 000000FE 004E3134 3143312D 4C30320A 20200000 00FE0043 4D4F0A20 20202020 20202020 000000FE 004E3134 3143312D 4C30320A 2020005C And I believe the 71d5 product id 1416 - Fixed it, I just added @0,backlight-PWM-freq 210000 thing to the ATIinject. Thanks for all the effort everyone has put into it. Now to find a WiFi card in NZ that will work I have attached the files I used in case someone else has the same card and laptop and hasn't got it working yet. I just used Kext Helper to install A8JP_x1700.zip
Mastodont
Any solutions for Asus F3JP, iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5? Went thru the whole thread but i still dont get any success... Thank you very much! Config: ASUS F3JP-AP098, X1700 256MB DDR2 X1700 = vendor 1002@71D5 P.S.: I'm focused on Obsan1ty's drivers (hes got actually the same model of laptop as I = same resolution, same 71D5 GPU, but maybe different screen vendor) EDIT: New findings: Screen crashes causes ATINDRV.kext, without it system works (QE,CI enabled) but cant change resolution (still 1024) EDIT2: Self-teached how to change EDID in ATIinject, but it doesnt work, no influence of edid to screen resolution. EDID: 00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 320C00C1 00000000 00100103 80211578 0AB37099 59538D27 23505400 00000101 01010101 01010101 01010101 0101EA1A 00805020 10301820 44004BCF 10000019 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00FE004C 47506869 6C697073 4C43440A 000000FE 004C5031 35345730 312D544C 4432005F

Mastodont: there are different versions of the ATINDRV.kext For me the 1.5.30.17 works. 1.4.20.28 gave me qe/ci, but with no native resolution and mouse artifacts.
