kukovic
Hi gents, just bought Acer Aspire 5570-4438 (too good deal to resist). This laptop has T2450 @ 2.0GHz CPU soldered in. Seems that every single kernel hangs during first boot, right after successful installation, during CPU detection (no error message). Except of kernel included in XxX 10.4.10 distribution. XxX 10.4.10 works flawlessly, so here we go. Parts I would like to discuss: PCMCIA Controller - TI PCIxx12 (Vendor: 104C, Device: 8039) ... tried some advices posted here, so far no go Built-in Ethernet - Marwell Yukon 88E8038 (Vendor: 11AB, Device: 4352) Wireless - Intel 3945ABG (Vendor: 8086, Device: 4222) Can anybody shed some light to why that stupid CPU can be used during OS X86 installation, but why majority of kernels can't talk to it afterwards ? And please, who ever finds any solution for above mentioned hardware, post it here. I will do the same. Thanks (I know that some of this hardware is discussed elsewhere, but I would like to keep it under one hood for any Acer owner). __________________________________________ Q6600 Desktop, D920 Desktop, D920 HTPC, Dual Pentium III 933MHz Server, Tualatin 1.13GHz Laptop, Mac Mini Core Solo T1200 ... just too many of them, want one ?
