314TeR
@Zerojojo, DSDT provided by you is my modified version. If you have a DSDT.aml on disk, when you doing the dump, you do dump of the DSDT from the disk, not from the BIOS. I need dump from BIOS, to prepare a correct version for the E5400. BTW - PM only works at 65nm CPUs. If you have glitches, jumps of the mouse cursor, etc. This is probably the fault of incorrect handling VGA ... GF like to do such problems ... noob question: how do i install DSDT.aml from q6600 you just release? just replace it on Extra and set permisions as any kext? Yep. Zerojojo
Hi 314TeR, I uploaded the DSDT file that MacLoader generated for me when I ran it yesterday. How can I make sure it's made from the BIOS and not from the disk? I wouldn't know the difference. And do you really think USB glitches come from the graphics card? It's pretty weird on my setup. I use a Creative Xmod external USB soundcard, but it only works correctly, when I use it on the USB Hub of my screen AND set the CPU to 5% overclocking in the BIOS. If I set it to AUTO, the Xmod works, but produces popping intermission when the CPU is load. Popping is also when I plug it in the back of the PC. Other USB devices like memory sticks, however work flawlessly, so I assumed, it must be the power supply or data sync of the USB ports that is just a little off. That's why I get the jumps of the cursor as well, I think. Again, thanks for your help! It's greatly appreciated! Regards Johannes
buschi2626
Good Job 314TeR, I install 10.6 update to 10.6.2, run installer-----PERFECT! two questions only: -what to do with the DSDT files? delete 4core... 2core... binary and DSDT.aml? copy E6750.dsl from 3001-v2.1 to /extra? I don't know, its the first time with DSDT.... for ME. -in wich folder I have to copy ALC882v10.kext? in my case firewire don't work! ( shows up PCIfirewire, steckplatz PCIEX - but no reaction ) Thanks, Buschi

Put only my kexts, no other - are unnecessary (except for the VGA adapter if you need any). Currently, too many unknowns so that your computer is not working as it should. Make a DSDT dump under Linux/Windows, Then I could prepare DSDT for E6600. ALC882v10 put in /Extra/KextStore (/Extra/Extensions) and make a new mkext /Extra/Extensions.mkext from them. jricks92
@314TeR Your ALC882v10.kext does not work for me in the /Extra/Extensions folder. I guess i'll have to go back to VoodooHDA... I was really hoping to get line in/mic working with this. EDIT: i lied, they're working now for some reason! great job 314TeR! I finally have onboard mic, and line in working in 10.6.2 wahooo!!! 314TeR
If GraphicsEnable in com.apple.boot.plist from PC_EFI does not work, you have to try other solutions such as EFI String, Injector, DSDT Enabler ... I do not know which solution will work with your VGA, you have to try.

buschi2626
HI 314TeR! Thanks for your great/fast support! some intermediate questions: ALC... does not work for me! - I do a fresh Installation of 10.6 reboot - run update to .2 reboot - install your package reboot - after that I copy ALC...kext to /Extra/KextStore and delete extensions.mkext - then I drop the folder .../kextStore to the new KextUtility2.3 Icon - KextUtil....make a new Extensions.mkext reboot - but: no reaction I'm soo despaired. My last Retail Installation runs smooth....I don't know! - firewire is shown up but no reaction (BIOS Settings are alright-3times checked) . 314TeR
Try this mkext Extensions.mkext.zip I checked FirwWire under 10.5.8, I plugged DV camera into front port, and work correctly, so I assume that the FireWire under Snow should also work, but take a look as I find time. 314TeR
I have no idea what are you doing wrong, and why does not work. Read threads on how to correctly install the kexts, how to correctly create mkext. Kext included above needs to operate unmodified vanilla AppleHDA.kext. All other kexts as VoodooHDA, ALCInject etc., should be removed from the system.
buschi2626
Sorry! I check everything you've written. I have a fresh new Install, no other kext installed only your installer. But the ALC882. kext don't work! May be I do something wrong, but don't realize! Read and read threats but don't find a reason. greetings

314TeR
-Audio runs!!!!!!!! but no MIC in.... only LineIn! (can it be crashed) Idon't hope so! Glad to hear that it works... Which mic? Front or rear? Only the front one will be working. I'm trying to install vanilla SL on my friends Asus P5w DH deluxe ... without success no matter what I try I get KP some thing like this... panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff80002cbf74) ............... Flash BIOS 3001, set it according to instructions from the link above. Download and burn BootCD attached in this thread - it contains everything you need to install and run the Snow. Start the computer from it, replace the CD to installation Snow. Install Snow. Insert back the BootCD, boot from it Snow installed on HDD. Install the package from it for the P5W. And now you're ready to use SU to update the system to the latest version. Remains only to install sound... PS I need a little time to fine-tuning a few details and I hope that tomorrow or the day after tomorrow will place new versions of BootCD already containing the sound, the new DSDT and a new installation package. 314TeR
Christmas getting closer, so it is time for gifts ;-) As promised, the new version of the installation kit for the P5W DH Deluxe for the Snow Leopard. http://rapidshare.com/files/321416978/Snow..._-_Beta_2.0.zip Iso image contains the installation package, BIOS 3001, bios flash tools, source code of DSDT v2.2, and compiled versions for some processors. Changes in Beta 2.0: A new audio kext for the experimental support for both microphone - front and rear - please test and info if it works as expected. The latest version of Chameleon 2 RC4 with rekursor mods: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1360125 Added support for PS/2 with VoodooPS2. The new version of DSDT for some processors with new HDAEnabler fix. The package is designed to perform the installation from scratch - not to update the current system. Installation package installs only the contents of /Extra and Chameleon RC4. All others system files remain untouched. Quick How-To install: 1. Flash BIOS 3001, reset it defaults, and set as show on photos: http://forum.osx86.org.pl/topics4/mac-os-x...tosh-vt1132.htm 2. Download and burn above Boot132 CD. 3. Use it to install Snow Leopard from retail DVD. 4. For the first strat newly installed system, use the BootCD. 5. Installation Install the package located on the BootCD 6. Rastart and have fun ... Optional Replace DSDT, and set the parameters in smbios.plist, so as to match to your computer. Now you can safely use the SU to update the system to the current version. coolio2004
Hi 314TeR, thanx so much for your efforts for our old baby P5W. I wanted to register in your board, but i ran in trouble cause i don`t speak polish. So I want to ask you to do a dsl for my E6600 CPU. There is a guy who made a dump for his E6600 with 4gb DDR RAM. I have 8gb DDR 800 but i don`t know if this is important. Coolio
314TeR
-everything works, I use E6750 DSDT for my E6600.-Mic rear don't work, front Mic not yet tested.... need cable -FW no work! @coolio2004, @buschi2626 I checked received dump, and DSDT for the E6600 with 4GB of RAM is exactly the same as for the E6750 with 4GB of RAM. You can use the already finished version E6750. There is no need to do a new DSDT for your processor. Ram speed is not importand. With a microphone bad news ... I worked a long time to try to run both inputs. Unfortunately, I do not have the proper microphone and save as plugging headphones instead. Can someone even further confirm/deny if it works the rear microphone? What and where to attach the device to the FW port? I'll check later if my DV camcorder running under Snow.
