Do you need a DSDT ??

I made a fast test on a USB key (used for my MacBook), added Cham + Extra kext compiled on a mkext. (No repair perm.. oupss).

KP directly after boot, "No HPET, CPU used incorrectly).

Work in progress..

I can't generate a DSDT with DSDTPatcher. "Build Failed!". and I do not use one for the Leopard install..

Could you please share your DSDT.aml ? but I don't know if I we can use the DSDT generated on another Hack..

Updated to 10.5.8 everything seems fine except I lost QE and CI. Tried reinstalling various NV kexts, repairing permissions, etc. and have had no luck. I've done some searching and haven't found any solutions.

Anybody know what to do to restore QE and CI?

My System:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe w/BIOS 2602

XFX Fatal1ty 7600GT

E6550 C2D

Leopard via boot 132 method

4gb RAM

Dr Hurt's installer package for the Chameleon 2.0 RC1 bootloader containing the Snow Leopard PC EFI v10.1 boot file made it extra easy for me to install Snow on my P5WDH Deluxe, although still struggling to get sound working...

You'll got sound work

Most everything is working in x32.

Does anyone have a driver for rtl8187 in x64 ?

Also sleep works but shutdown/restart does not work. Any suggestions ?

are you say sleep works in Snow Leopard ?

sound is easy, just copy the voodoohda.kext to the System/Library/Extensions Folder and run Kext Utility ... this kext is the only one, which doesn't work from /Extra Folder ...

Did you try 9f23 Installer ?

I solved by removing the printer, but now when I go into disk utility can not repair permissions

this appears by opening and installing the Snow Installer from a running Leopard Desktop ... make a retail install by booting from DVD or better Harddrive Partition ...

Has anyone been able to make sound work on a p5w dh Deluxe motherboard with the latest ideneb 1.5?

The driver for 882 that comes with the distro simply doesn't works.

I have made an install without sound drivers and then installed the VoodooHda driver, but sound output is very limited, no optical digital out working. So i am back to ideneb 1.3 (10.5.5)

My system is all working wit 10.5.7 except for sound, is there a solution for this problem?

Or can someone tell me about a working sound kext, or wich ones to delete if necessary.

Help please!

I have the same problem in SL.

Has someone succeeded making the optical digital out working?

It is not with the VoodooHda driver.

François

I installed Retail Leopard 10.5.6 and then updated to 10.5.8. chameleon RC2 is on a boot partition and loads leopard sucessfully. However i have no audio, firewire and I can only choose 1024x768 resoultion.

My hardware:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe

ATI X1900 Graphics Card

Can anyone help me out, I've been looking through the forums for the last 2 weeks and cannot solve my problem. :)

Been looking through this thread and solved firewire - delete applehpet.kext :D

Now for audio and graphics ;)

Got audio to work by adding voodoohda.kext.

Just Graphics now. Can anyone show me how I can find the efi string for ATI x1900?

Hi Everyone,

So I am searching the boards for help. My computer has been out of commission for a while and it has me paralyzed.

The short of it, I have been using EFI-X to boot my system (with a retail leopard install + a few minor patches) for about 8 months. Prior to that, I was using Kalyway's OS install, but eventually wanted something easier, so I bought an EFI-X. A month ago the EFI-X died, fried my mobo, and I have been without a working system since. ASUS repaired my mobo, but now I can not get my system to boot. I really really don't want to have to do a fresh install, as I don't have a very recent backup. Is there any way to create some kind of USB so that I can boot the leopard install that is there?

PLEASE. Any advice would be MUCH MUCH appreciated.

Thanks.

Ben

I solved by removing the printer, but now when I go into disk utility can not repair permissions

To fix the Repair permissions problem in snow

hi clock sorry, i be holidays.

first:

boot with -s

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw /

sudo -s (not shure is necessary)

chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/snow partition/System/Library/Extensions/*

chmod -R 755 /Volumes/snow partition/System/Library/Extensions/*

then i did:

sudo chown 0:0 /

rm -rf /System/Library/Cashes

kextcache -v l -t -l -m /System/Library/Cahces/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions

test....

if not...... 3 solutions for that,

1 soft solution: install uuid.kext, my new package include this.

2 you must edit Info plist in PlatfromUUID.kext

Code:

<key>PlatformUUID</key>

<string>HEREISPLACEFORUUID</string>

To string place UUID of your snow partition. get it in disk uttility ( right click to paartiton and select information)

And add this kernel flags to com.apple.boot.plist in boot 132

Code:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>rd=uuid boot-uuid=HEREISPLACEFORUUID<string>

3 if the problem continues, reinstall only BSD.pkg

I got careless when I was messing around in BIOS trying to do.. something, I forget what, and now I always get kernel panics on boot (it dies on DirectoryService[51]). Would anyone be willing go grab some images of a working BIOS setup? I've tried resetting to factory defaults and changing stuff that looks wrong but I still get kernel panics on what was once a working install (and iATKOS installer, which complains about not finding drivers for ACPI regardless of the fact that I know it's not a bad burn) and I suspect I've only made it worse by doing so.

Finally i make working patches to DSDT... Tested on 10.5.8... No more need to delete AppleHPET or using disabler to get working all USB ports or FW. All USB ports work always in High Speed, also FireWire working, sleep, shutdown, restart working, waking from USB keyboard/mouse working, TM Fix implemented, Vanilla SpeedSteep working on 65nm CPUs.

Source and compiled DSDT.aml files can get here:

http://forum.osx86.org.pl/topics27/fixy-ds...susow-vt857.htm

or complete pack here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/283233093/P5W_...e_DSDT_2504.zip

DSDT compiled on BIOS base version 2504, because later version don't have SSDT Tables, and cannot get working Vanilla SpeedSteep.

Enjoy...

Hi,

did anyone get wifi to work in Snow Leopard? The latest official Realtek driver won't load in Snow Leopard for me. It just keeps bouncing without end. I even tried to boot "-x32 -s", but that didn't work, either.

By the way, does Snow Leopard by default boot into 64bit or 32bit mode? I always thought it would be 32bit mode, but I'm not sure from what I've read so far.

Thank you for your help!

Regards

Johannes

314Ter: i've tested it on my p5w dh deluxe with latest bios, but the ps2 moues/keyboard won't work. (works with "standard" dsdt) have you a guide and a list of kext you use into extra folder?

aliab: have you a COMPLETE rip of /extra kext that works under 10.5.8?with bios settings and so on?

i've done several test using kext but i cannot have working sleep (also with sleep enabler) and full speed firewire (keep getting secure error message).Audio also have problems: i cannot enable it using ONLY hda and injectors into extra folder.checking in system profile the audio is detected as 885 but no sound or output devices in sound settings.

i've found a way to use vodoohda into extra folder, audio works with audio output and mic input, but in system profiler audio is not present.
