The safest way to update any Mac running OSX is to install the newer OSX version to a different HDD, & during the install of the new version use the migration assistant to copy your data/settings/applications from the old install. manmal
Hi geminii, i don't think there will be a tiger->leopard ... i guess there are too many differences to be handled in an "upgrade-only" . It's not like "updating" 10.4.8 to 10.4.9 for example. errandwolfe
Using the Brazilmac method, I was not even given the usual choices to upgrade, archive and install, or clean install. Other then hand typing (rather the directly running) the post-install script, I didn't have a single problem. 3 days up and running so far and have not encountered a single problem. Strongly suggest you repair disk permissions before you do the upgrade though. Envying
Using Pacifist to install Leopard Guide I made a guide here, it is also good for upgrading your existing tiger system, if you don't want to start from zero! I still don´t know wich method I´m gonna use. But I guess I´ll have plenty of time to decide since this download is taking forever. But thanks for your guide, nice job.
