Tebi Tan
I have a Macbook Pro 2.33 Ghz with MacOSX 10.4.10 including the latest fixes. Installed BootCamp, made Windows partition, installed Vista Business, all is OK. I can boot MacOSX from Vista, I see the HFS+ partition through MacDrive, so all OK. But I don't see the NTFS partition from MacOSX, nor can I select it to be booted in the System Preferences -> Startup Disk, nor can I mount it in Disk Utilities. The only thing I can boot it with pressing Option key. Any idea how to fix this? bxsci(macuser)
Mac OS X cannot natively read a NTFS drive - there is a program called MacFUSE which can help with that.... or you could reformat your windows drive to FAT32.... Tebi Tan
First, MacOSX can read natively NTFS. You are confusing reading with writing. Second, my problem is that I can see other NTFS partitions from removable disks, but not the Vista boot partition. Killroy
What version of Boot Camp do you have installed? Earlier versions of Boot Camp Beta have expired. I'm not sure what actually happens when Boot Camp expires so that's just a guess. If your version of Boot Camp has expired you can just install Boot Camp v1.4 Beta to resolve the issue, but that too will expire when Leopard is released on October 26th or soon thereafter. If your version of Boot Camp is up-to-date I would try booting from the Mac OS X Install DVD and using Disk Utility to repair the disk and permissions. Also boot from your Windows DVD and repair the Windows installation if necessary. EDIT: Boot Camp Beta is no longer available for download from Apple.
