Hakemon
Using 10.4.8 from the JaS bootdisk, i have been noticing that OS X locks up from disks in my optical drives (but the mouse still moves, but i can't even use the dock or click anything), and noticed that i can't mount network shares.. if i mount Samba, it's a finder lockup.. if i mount an apple share, it says something that it can't mount the specified device.. and if i try webdav, i get a unknown error -50... Hakemon
also, if i connect TO the intel Mac from my real PowerPC Mac, i can see contents, but as soon as i try to copy a file, the intel mac kernel panics (multi lingual shut down message)... im using Firewire as my network through the real Mac... EDIT: system update also causes a kernel panic Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62602-volume-mounting/#findComment-443290 Share on other sites
Hakemon
Still does it.. I tried booting my Mac mini into Target Disk Mode, then on the osx86 machine, started copying files via firewire, and that ALSO caused a kernel panic. Firewire controller is that on my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS... Motherboard is a PC Chips M963G... Hakemon
*sigh* anybody? it seems bandwidth related.. It's like if my firewire port exceeds 4Mbps, it crashes. Which sadly, is almost everytime... I'm getting a PCI USB card to try tomorrow..
