Thanks to Delish I now got a completely working system.

He found out how to get onboard sound fully working, I now have

all my audio ports recognised.

As far as overclocking goes with this board I'm quite suprised.

But first you got to fix the vdroop issue and I found out how to do that

and also how to do a Vdimm and Vcore mod.

This was not easy as all the guides on the "net" only covers the P5K ATX

mobos and not the P5K matx.

Btw the vdroop mod is enough to push your Q6600 G0 to 4 GHz and over.

Stay tuned for the V-guides, probably 1-2 days.

I can get nothing to work right on my P5K-Vm....no sound or the right video settings. I went to your link and tried to install 883 drivers and it seems to be working but in the end...NO SOUND! Maybe i'm missing something. Can anyone help?

For Intel ICH9 chipsets remember to add DevID to these files

ALCInject.kext/Contents/Info.plist

AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/Info.plist

0x293e8086 is the one to add.

got my realtek 883 working on Asus P5K-VM

and patch using this codec dump. alc883_ICH9.txt

(you prob should patch first, then add DevID as patcher might overwrite files)

Now I used E6600 on P5LD2-VM, OC to 3.1GHz... My CPU is better tolerance in other mobo, But P5LD2-VM seem to has restriction to OC. P5K-VM is much better mobo to OC, And that can serect more latest cpus. I cant exchanging very defferent mobo for my PC case at many reason. Your report is very helpful for P5LD2-VM user like me...
