Appleworks discontinued

After being introduced in 1984 with the Apple II; Appleworks, which was in 1997 renamed to Clairsworks, has been officially discontinued. This was long given considering that the software's update rate was extremely low if next to nothing. Furthermore, after the release of iWork 08, which includes Numbers as well, the need for Appleworks is truly no longer needed anymore.

AppleWorks' last breath was masked by last week's iMac, iLife and iWork announcements - Apple has discontinued the product.

Apple told resellers of the demise of AppleWorks last week, announcing that the software had reached "End of Life" status. It will no longer be sold. The AppleWorks website now directs users to the iWork section of Apple's website.

So...you can still use it...Apple's not gonna say 'HEY! USE THIS NEW PRODUCT" and remove it from your box...

Also:

Your search - "appleworks makes me horny" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

Make sure all words are spelled correctly.

Try different keywords.

Try more general keywords.

OK it's sad, but not really a huge surprise, is it? It hadn't been updated in yonks and Apple has been focusing on the iLife and iWork suite much more...

I wasn't exactly holding out for an update.

Anyway, one can still use it! I still use Freehand (through Rosetta), even though it's been discontinued, and I'm sad about that, but it's got the most intuitive interface for me by far.

I'm kinda surprised they waited this long. What exactly does this change?

I always was a fan of Appleworks, used it the most during the Claris days.

Did they ever put out a version that ran on OSX natively? Can't remember. By that time I was in college and forced to move to windows.

Yeah, actually Apple was shipping AppleWorks with Macs up until 2005. I remember, I bought my iMac G5 and it came preloaded with AppleWorks 6.
