Am I the only who thinks this is exactly the kind of juvenile {censored} that'll get us all in a lot of hot water?

We're so lucky to able to do what we do without a lot of legal pressure from Apple.

Then you...*children* want to go and flaunt your illegal Hacks in Apple's face like this?

Why?

EDIT: ok that probably wasnt the smartest thing to do

Not to be a "stick in the mud", but I have to agree with iji oh.

We all know how protective apple is of their IP, copyrights, etc.

The fact that they more or less turn a blind eye to the hack community has worked in our favor.

Kicking the hornets nets is not exactly the greatest idea.

...don't tell me someone submitted this to Digg as well?

Why don't we just send a "Nyah! Nyah!" letter to Apple legal?

I would have really loved to see the case notes that went with this case.. I bet he was about to go ape when he keyed the S/N into PeopleSoft 3 times and it still wouldn't work...

That was hellarious, I used to be an AppleCare agent myself so I've had some "interesting" calls people asked me about OS X for a generic Windows PC... The funny thing is I actually used to direct them to this site... I actually got repremanded once for that (Apple was listening but I don't care)

As far as the legal issues that might arise from this call, I wouldn't worry about that at all.. You gotta remember that 9/10 of the Apple agents that you will be talking to work for like $8.50/$9.00 an hour in an outsourced call Center of which there are at least 7 as of late 2005, and they really could care less if you run OS X on a Mac, a PC, or a pocketwatch...

Me personally I would have just created the case without a serial number and blind transfered it to Tier 2 (AKA Product Specialists)... I mean since I was having issues getting the customers serial number to work and all, I mean that's definilty within the classifications for calling a Senior Technician.. LOL :)

well usually on these type of calls it states calls my be monitored and or recorded i didnt hear it there and not to mention thats for their record and not to be exploited to the public.

And just to make sure you know, Mac OS cannot be run on non-apple hardware legally. so almost everybody who would read this threa is a criminal. The legal side is irrelevant here.

And to the "Not smart" thing. . . Yeah, Apple do turn somewhat of a blind eye to us. Because they can't do a damn thing about us. They see that it would get them bad public press to shut us down, and so they just try to make each release a little harder to crack in order to put us off.

You're right, rubbing it in their faces is not the NICEST thing ever since they could at least come up with legal ground to cease and desist this website, similar to Microsoft C&Ding the PocketPC equivalent.

But one comic phone call is unlikely to seriously bother them. Just nobody be stupid enough to do your own cover version, ok?

By looking at it, it seems as if the triangles are now replaced with bright light spot at the bottom.. Can't wait for Leopard! (hehe most people already here knows how to get it but I want the real deal!) :P
