Update: Okay so I installed osx on my usb harddrive but for some reason its not not booting up. I am confused cause I thought you could maybe do this and mac osx bootable. Does anyone know how to maybe fix this this?

Edit: When booting from my external drive I get a NTLDR error. Which I dont understand cause its setup in my bios fine.

when youre getting ntdlr error, meanig you were booting to a windows partition.

it is the windows partition which is active for booting up the machine.

you must configure you external hard drive to be a primary, and in bios setup, set your boot device priority to usb hdd.

Ok I have given up on my usb drive and managed to get my hands a spare internal hd, i set it up and installed osx on it but when i try to boot from the disk after it installs it wont go past a flashing "_" I went into bios and turned off my primary hd and made this one primary but it still doesnt work. Any ideas?

what i meant of "primary" is the partition table.

im not referring to your primary ide or sata connector. its not primary master or primary slave.

when you create a partition, you may set it as primary or logical.

to create a primary partition, you need to use a partition software, for ease of use.
