hackintom
it depends. what mobo is it ? Go on the manufacturer website, and see if it is 1333MHz compliant... I'm not sure that's the right forum to ask this question... it's not related to osx86
Synaesthesia
It will default to 1066, so it will underclock...
hackintom
Ask the question to the manufacturer or on its forum !
Synaesthesia
A 1333mhz chip uses a 333mhz fsb, like the e6550, which runs at 7*333 = 2333mhz. If it is on a 1066 motherboard, it will run at 7*266 = 1866mhz, so it will be underclocking. Unless you run it overclocked. It's the same story with a 1066 mhz cpu on a 800 mhz motherboard
Common Sense
Check if there is a bios update from the motherboard manufacturer, i know abit has an update allowing their 965 chipset mothearboards to run 1333 mhz fsb.
hackintom
Thanks for the help! My bad, I never should have asked a question about a CPU or motherboard on a HARDWARE forum... what was I thinking? you know what I meant !
