Great work, I gave up on hackintosh last year because I couldn't get accelerated graphics but clearly a lot has happened since then.

 

I have installed the 10.5.2 Kalyway and after deleting all the graphics stuff that came with it have 9c7010 more or less working with X1950 Pro AGP 512 MB (7280)

 

I have QE/CI and correct screen res. It shows PCI for bus. I tried editing Configuration.plist (deleted PCI string - it already had AGP) and Info.plist in ATIRadeonX1000.kext to change PCI to AGP - that just trashed QE/CI. There are references in the thread to AGPgart but they date back to prior to 9c7010 so not sure if that is needed.

 

When I run Pirates of the Caribbean (a must if my kids are to let me ditch Windows on this machine) it appears to run OK but the screen is totally black. Not sure of it's related to the AGP/PCI thing or some other problem.

Has anyone got high definition (1920x1080i) out of an x1950 card to connect to a tv? Either by the 'SVideo-like plug' to component adaptor or the ati DVI to component adaptor.

I've tried it with the 1950 card and both types of adaptors and got something on the screen, but not the right resolution or sync. It was green too. I tried fiddling with SwitchResX, but that didn't help.

looks like OPENGL problem. Other Microsoft Office 2008 apps (excel and powerpoint) seem to work OK.

Hi these drivers are working great, just one issue which may not even be issues with this driver. When my PC comes out of sleep mode, my monitor will not come back on. Anybody seen this issue?

I have my graphics card working great using these drivers (latest ones), HOWEVER I'm getting lock ups maybe every few hours and I think it maybe overheating. The top third of my screen gets all garbled and everything freezes.

 

My PC never had overheating issues with Vista, and i have played some pretty intesive games.

 

Any hints on how to troubleshoot what my locking issues are, and if graphics related what can I do (underlock somehow?)

I've got a EAX 1950 PRO , I just installed ATI_1950_LEO from dimitrik , but I don't see any quartz extreme

in system preferences .

Also if I'm trying to install aperture or the latest version of toast the applications don't run 'cause the graphic card.

Have u got any raccomandetions./ or tell me wich pachet to download .

I would report to you, my experience with your kext (practically I have successfully tried all your kext both in tiger and Leo).

The procedure described below is tested and works on a clean installation of Leopard. To have fully functionality of graphics card (CI Hardware accelerated, QE supported, QuartGL supported, rotation) I have to do the follows step:

1) install this (I don't remember where I found it, but it is necessary to have CI hardware)ATINDRV.kext.zip2) Bronya's kext in post #1

3 install this Natit.kext.zip (I found it in Bronya's thread but I don't remember where)

 

Now, the System Profiler views:

Perfect !!!!! Works with all software!!!!!

 

 

With NATIT included in your kext , I have this view in System profiler:

 

Apart that it is not recognized the secondary ports (72a8), but it is not a great problem, the really problem is:

after a randomize time a few seconds a few minutes, graphics cards losts all syncronisms (great confusion on the screen) and it is necessary reboot (it is possible generate repeatedly this problem for example using Software Update, about 15 sec and becomes impossible to read the monitor due to a lot of quantity of colored squares and lines)

 

Hoping that this experience can be helpful for the development of future kext and all other holders of this card.

Gimmy2000 - I'm using an Asus EAX1959PRO with Leo4All v3. I installed without any graphics drivers, then installed the latest version from the first post in this thread (double click 'install.command')-

I often get the ATI logo on screen and no Quartz Extreme. I've found to fix this I have to run Disk Utility - Repair Permissions, then reinstall the 3 ATI items from the above driver folder using Kext Helper (installed by default by Leo4All).

 

I'm not quite sure of the reason this works and it usually doesn't last past the next restart. I'm fairly new to this OSX86 lark.

Kurmudjeon. Hi I had the same problem with the ATI logo. In the end what I did was a clean install also for the time machine fix.

Now I can tell you that Aperture was not working even toast and time machine.

So I install the package from Pion and now everything works .

But the Pci cards are not recognised from the system profiler.

But I get 136.00 from the graphic test (xbench)

Now I really don't now if I should keep this driver or not.

For Bronya when I installed the latest driver I got the error from above.

What we should do , how I can perform I clean install of hte GUI drver?

Got this fixed for Word by doing clean Kalyway 10.5.2 and installing 7280 package. Still don't have success with fullscreen games - goes totally black but sound is playing so it doesn't hang. secondary adaptor is just showing blue screen - primary is OK with CI/QE. All opengl tests seem to work??

Hi all!

I hope someone could help me...

Yesterday I installed Leo4allv2 - after some issues, all went well :-)

Now I have to install drivers for my graphic card and audio.

The graphic card is Ati x1950gt pci - 512 mb...

For 3 times I tried to install the package at the beginning of this thread, also with natit, atirndrv, etc, but, when I reboot, after loading of all extensions, the screen remains blank, and I have to reboot with -s option and delete the just installed kext.

 

Please, someone has installed with success the drivers for this card and could be so kind to tell me, step by step, how to do?

I'm a pc technician but, sorry, I only know Linux and Windows.. Mac is fantastic but I'm discovering it only from yesterday evening! :-))

You'd either have to buy Age of Empires III or get it from the usual places (demons and pirates). Pirates of the Caribbean Online is available for free and runs in limited mode without paying the monthly fee - google it to find it.

OK guys, I'm sorry to add to the chaos of this thread, but I've tried finding my problem somewhere in the 50+ pages of posts and am still having trouble.

 

Basically, everything works great (DVI, Dual displays, resolution) except I get now hardware acceleration (CI/QE).

 

I'm working with an HIS x1950 pro 256mb pci-e card, and I followed these steps exactly:

 

1. Installed 10.5.1

2. Removed the following extensions to get past the "restart your computer" hurdle: radeonx1000*, ATINDRV.kekt, and ATIRNDRV.kext.

3. Upgraded to 10.5.2

4. Installed Bronya's 10.5.2(9c31) 7288 driver package via the load.command.

5. Repaired permissions (used the commands listed on page #1, BTW: when running the "rm /system/library/extensions.kextcache" command I get a "no such file or directory" message. Is this normal?).

6. Restarted and everything worked except QE/CI

7. Ran a systems update (my system version is now Mac OS X 10.5.2 (9C7010), does this make a difference?)

8. Deleted natit.kext, repaired permissions, rebooted to find that card was no longer recognized.

9. Installed the natit.ket from page 1, repaired permissions, rebooted to find everything working again except for CI/QE.

 

I'm hoping someone can spot a problem here and advise accordingly. Thanks for the help in advance, and also a big thumbs up and thank you for everyone that has contributed to the cause, especially Bronya!

 

 

*One more thing, what's the difference between 7280 and 7288 packs?

Sorry Bronya , I could not reply before.

what I had with the newest driver was an icon blinking on the middle of the screen , showining the card with a red dot.

So I did a clean install of kalyway 10.5.2 wiht the package fom Pyon.

The max resolution which can get from the primary monitor is 1280*1024 at 75 hz.

As I write u before from my screens shoot I don't know if I get qe,cI and bla bla bla.

Also pci's are not recognized.

what I should do to have I clean install of your newest driver?

i had the same problem. repair your permissons with disk manager and extensions-repair.
