Thank You Scrizz!! and Bronya!! for all your time and help. Using the Scrizz installer I was able to get QE/CI Rotation with a Sapphire x1950pro Pcix 512meg. I deleted all the ATI, Nvidia, and Intel kexts from the extensions folder (including two hidden in a folder AppleNDRVR). I ran the Scrizz installer and everything works now. After pulling my hair out for several days I am back to glueing it back in.

Good job! I installed this drivers and works very well! Got 1280x1024, full resolution for a 17" flat monitor. Got the CI/QE working perfectly. Now I can use Front Row and everything!

The only thing is with the dual monitor settings.

I got a PCI-E Sapphire X1950Pro 512MB card with 2 DVI out puts. I have 2 DVI monitors but it doesn't recognize the second one. Wondering why because on System Profiler I got 2 devices. When I disconnect and re-connect the second monitor the first monitor fades out and come back like trying to say that it recongnize a new monitor but then nothing happens...

Has someone got dual DVI with CI/QE on a PCI-E X1950Pro?

Could someone be kind enough to post the essential step by steps to get a machine running from scratch with an ATI x1950 PRO.

I am a little confused, when I first install will I even get video on my screen? How are you able to add in the new drivers if the video doesn't work to begin with?

UPDATE2: It says Qe/CI is working but not getting any video out of DVD player/Screen Saver. Still researching.

UPDATED : I just got QE/CI working with the XxX_OS_x86_10.4.10_Install_Disc release

Here is what I did

1) Remove all the old stuff (ATI*,Natit.kest,NV*,Geforce*, you get the idea)

2) Install Jccool's New release of for the 1950XT for 10.4.10 - Do Not reboot (You can but will not be working yet)

3) With Pacifist Install from 17th release for ATI_x1950GT_Pro.mpkg all the files EXCEPT ATINDRV.kext

4)Before rebooting run (I know it is overkill but I like being safe)

sudo -s

#Build

echo ------------Set Permissions After Extenions Change------------------

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/

sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions

sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

sudo rm -R /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches

sudo kextcache -k -z /System/Library/Extensions

echo -----------Running DiskUtil-----

sudo diskutil repairPermissions /

5) Reboot and be happy. Still do not have Dual Monitor Support but I like being back at functioning.

NOTE: It still only recognizes 256 MB of my 512MB PCIE 1950Pro but that will be for another day of fiddling.

Now If I can just stop playing with the new releases and stick to one.

ahoi together,

i was spending a lot of time in reading this great thread.... up and down.

for me it feels really sure to risk in spending money into a new graphic card for my rig.

but the question is which one?

i would like to buy a " 512MB Sapphire Radeon RX1950GT T2xD PCIe LiRe ".....

but will it it run for 1680x1050 wit qe & ci support seperately on 2 dvi ports ( no vga adapters ) for my 2 screens ?

and what about major appz like motion3 or maya 2008? will they work with it without any probs?

what would you say?

i really don´t know right now !! :)

( maybe spent too much time with this thread )

greetz.... knobsi

Hi All, I just ran Cinebench 10 GL benchmark on the new driver posted by Bronya and on my Windows XP system. The card is Asus EAX 1950PRO 256MB PCI-E.

XPSP2: 4600

OSX Bronya: 3442

Is there anything that can be done to reduce the gap between the 2 systems.

Edit: Also used the cross-platform Open GL benchmarking and info tool GLViewer 2.31 from realtech-vr.com to benchmark in both XP and OSX. Here are the results:

800X600X32@60HZ

Test

1.1 Texturing XP:3510 OSX: 2567

1.2 Locked Array XP: 3420 OSX: 2506

1.3 Multitexture XP: 3315 OSX: 2474

1.4 Vertex Programs XP: 3066 OSX: 2363

1.5 Vertex Objects XP: 3081 OSX: 2368

2.0 Shading Language XP: 2907 OSX: 2245

2.1 Pixel Buffer Object Not Tested/Supported

Now strangely for the same tests with Multisample=4, Fog=ON and Anisotrophy=16 the results change to OSXs favour dramtically:

Test

1.1 Texturing XP: 866 OSX: 2083

1.2 Locked Array XP: 820 OSX: 2036

1.3 Multitexture XP: 809 OSX: 1987

1.4 Vertex Programs XP: 783 OSX: 1918

1.5 Vertex Objects XP: 766 OSX: 1920

2.0 Shading Language XP: 370 OSX: 1837

2.1 Pixel Buffer Object Not Tested/Supported

Can anyone explain this? Weird.

Can anyone help me get my x1950pro AGP to work? I have it connected to a dell 30" monitor so i definatly need to get up to 2560x1600 for it to look right. Ive tried installing the drivers from jjcool and when i get to the part right past the grey apple screen the monitor goes black and i cant get it back so i have to reload the os. I tried bronya drivers too and the same thing happens. I am using the JAS 10.4.8 build. Thanks for any help!

did you notice any change in the quality of render (fog, anti-alias) during osx test?

there were to little impact with fog and antialias on.

that is strange.

Hi all Children!

At last I have made AtiradeonX1000.kext and ATY_Alopias! Full works QE/CI/OpenGL/Rotation/ on dual DVI !!! :D

I did not check DUAL Monitor ! You try! :)

Enjoy!

New driver 17.09.2007 !!!

DEV_ID_7280 --> http://rapidshare.com/files/56461084/Ati_x...GT_Pro.mpkg.zip

ATI_ID_7288.zip in kernel panic;

New ATI_ID_7288 work -->

Enjoy!

Hi Bronya, I want to know that for the driver on Post #1, are they for 10.4.9 or only work on 10.4.10? Because I see you have posted driver for 10.4.10 on http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry434746 already but Post #1 hasn't specified. I am using uphuck v1.3 and it comes with 10.4.9. Do I need to update to 10.4.10 before using the driver on Post #1? (because I got error to boot in the OSX)

My card is a PCI-E 256M 1950GT with 2 DVI output The result I got are:

1) if with ATI_7288.zip, ATINDRV and Natit, OSX recognizes it as 1950GT and support full resolution 1440x900 and rotation, but no QE/CI. (In the first display, it will said 'Status: No Display Connected'. at the bottom)

2) if I remove Natit, the card was not recognized at all. 1024x768 without QE/CI/rotation. No kernel panic or blue screen

So I guess Natit from Scrz is working correctly. But how come I can't get ATI driver working as fellows in here? What did I missed? (I have the ATINDRV from uphuck v1.3 but replaced the ATY_Alopias by Bronya. Is the ATY_Alopias the key component to get QE/CI works through DVI? If the system can't even recognize the card model, which part is most likely doing work?

Also, where should I establish ATY_Alopias.kext.zip?

a) /system/library/extensions/atindrv.kext/contents/plugins/ (Post #1)

B) /system/library/extensions/ (Post #357)

Thanks a lot!

That Worked a treat on my XxX 10.4.10 install. But there was no Natit.kext and it saw the card as "generic VGA". I then installed just the Natit.kext from your 10.4.9 and my 512 MB PCIE card was detected as a 256 1950Pro but I now have resolution change (All While Q/C working). The only thing not working is mirroring and extended displays!!!

Thanks!

Hi all !

Problems "blue screen" <- the problem opengl.framework and wrong version driver :)

Post 1 updated !

Here driver for 10.4.10 !!!

e-ghost, yep aty_alopias.kext in /system/.../atindrv.kext/contents/plugins/

Enjoy .
