JaS installation hangs

I have a Compaq Presario (SR2011WM) and when I try to install Mac OS X, it tells me "Still waiting for root device" when I install it with -v. Any ideas?

 

EDIT:

 

I just removed the SATA hard drive that was in my computer, that didn't work, and now I have an IDE hard drive in there.

 

Here's the rest of the specs:

 

Intel Celeron D (3.20 Ghz)

ATI Radeon XPress Graphics (128MB)

DVD-RW Drive (which the Mac OS X86 disk is in)

aand for now that's it, because I removed the only PCI card I had in there, and it still says "Still waiting for root device"
